This is by far, my FAVORITE petzl trip video. From Dave Graham "underestimating" the Tufa's to Cédric Lachat forgetting his onsight moves and talking about Kebab night. Definitely a part of my bucket list of climbs! Keep up with the videos. I love the brand, gear, and culture you guys provide. #PetzlLife #PetzlParty
Grand movie...good people/good times/good climbs. Grand ! I did a 3week dive trip to Turkey 3years past...in the south...I saw thousands of little coves which were designed for climbing. Also,Big cliffs,50m high,2km long...riddled with caves. Vertical/overhanging all the way. Deep water underneath, that's what we were there for. Truly beautiful climbing country.
Enjoyed the location, the climbing although not a climber and of course the culture, which is just as much a thrill as the climbing itself. Sounds and people of the rock...
I don’t think it’s on sighting if you climbed the route yesterday but just forgot the beta. To me it’s not “ he’s on sight again cause he spaced out on the beta, it’s still a rp even if you forgot beta” sry to nitpick that just drives me crazy.
Great video guys, truly. You have done an excellent job. Reading your video description though I do find a historical inaccuracy that you need to correct please. Olympos (Lycia) in Turkey, bears the its greek name since the city was founded in the Hellenistic period, but has NOTHING to do with Olympic Games what so ever. It is complete and total historical inaccuracy that the birthplace of the flame for antiquity's first Olympic Games is in that city. The ancient Olympic Games were founded in 776 BC, they took place at the great sanctuary of Zeus in Olympia, Greece, every four years, until their abolition in 393 AD. There was no Olympic flame to mark the duration of the Games as we know it today back in those days. There was, however, an eternal flame burning on the altar of Hestia, goddess of the hearth, in the Prytaneion or Council House of the site, as described by Pausanias (V,15,9). Please correct your description.
Martin Jeraj You don't need to be a good climber. To get involved, find out where it's happening, grab some cash, maybe some friends and just go there. It doesn't matter if you climb 5c or 8c.
This place looks amazing! Plane tickets are booked for the start of February. Time to get training :) On another note, will there be a RocTrip next year? And if so, how do I sign up?
Olympos is in Greece. What you see here is just a boulder compared to the mt Olympos, the tallest peak in greece. Nice climb but off no archaological interest or correlation whatsoever.
Excellant video but the historical description is a little mess up. This place has nothing to do with Olympic Games and eternal flame of Olympics. I'd suggest you to make the appropriate corrections to this part of your description.
Hello Μάνος, τι κανείς φίλε μου; The Olympos area it refers to is a spot South of the city of Antalya in Turkey along the Mediterranean coast of the Lycia (or Lykia) historical region: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympos_(Lycia). The name comes from the Hellenistic and Byzantine cultural heritage shared in the greater oriental Mediterranean region. The area is really beautiful. The spot the Petzl climbers scale is named Geyikbayırı and is very praised. Olympos is also the name of the culminating point of the island of Cyprus and a Japanese optical company. According to the omniscient Wiki παν λόγια there are Olympos mountains in Utah, Wisconsin and New Zealand. In one word everybody wants to be on top of the Olympos ;) Hope all ok and see you soon
When did the climbing community get filled with so many image conscious "bros" and "dudes" and "homies"? I swear the only reason most of these guys climb is because they can record their climbs and upload them to TH-cam; back in the 80s and 90s before there was an Internet to show off on, you wouldn't have seen guys like this climbing. They would have been skateboarding in town or playing in a shitty band.
Too bad the RocTrips videos have ended. They are very inspiring.
I sat here and watched a bunch of these vids by Pretzl and holy wow. I can watch this all day. So artsy and the editing is dope af!!! Love love love.
