Prince doesn't even have smarts. All she has is access to daddies itinerary and his abject lack of care to how she uses that information. Had she lived the remains of the White Death's crew would have taken her apart. In case you missed my subtext - she had foreknowledge of everything happening on the train that everyone else lacked simply because her father didn't care enough about whether she was watching to deny her access to it.
That scene is everything wrong with movies today. Unrealistic. You telling me that guy couldn't shake off that 110 pound nurse supermodel? I would have thrown her off of me in 2 seconds like a tiny ragdoll. Movies made by idiots who think that lingerie models are stronger than giant men with lots of muscles, lol, idiotic. Idiocy.
Beware an old man in anything, even normal boring life. Because in a world where hundreds kill themselves unable to stand their ordinary life's tribulations, a man in old age is one who has faced the same challenges and yet not gone under. That's why we say "Respect your elders!"
The difference between a young genius and an experienced veteran; both are dangerous in their own way. The veteran is more unforgiving when underestimated, while the genius often mistakes thinking others can’t be as smart as them.
She's NOT a genius. She's literally just peeked at her fathers diary/calender to find out what happens when and why. There's no other way she could have known where to be and what to expect otherwise. Best case she's a reasonably good hand at crafting improvised explosives and a good manipulator of men. The former doesn't seem a great stretch for the daughter of the leader of Tokyo's premier yakuza branch, and the latter is pretty par for the course for a pretty, young woman used to getting what she wants.
I will always love how Prince thinks she can have everything with no consequences, but the Elder begs to differ, destroying her plan to kill his grandson in a move only a true chess master of the game of life would ever pull. This scene demonstrates that Prince might have brains, but the Elder has those as well as experience, wisdom, and patience, the attributes of a truly great mind.
It's chess. And its also stolen from The Godfather. After the Turk takes his shot at Don Corleone, he sends a squad to kill him in the hospital. Michael and Enzo's son-in-law stand in front making it look like the Don still has bodyguards.
That's not a "true chess master" move, that's just basic family maintenance for a guy like that. Given the opportunity he would have made a great Yakuza family leader - and may even still do so given the opportunities afforded by the end of White Death and a sizable chunk of his crew.
The Prince failed because she failed to account for the fact that she pushed Scorpion’s grandson off a roof. Scorpion really dislikes it when people mess with his family.
Seriously 0:55 when I saw this in theaters I realized he became my favorite and this movie instantly became one of my favorites. Plus that’s common sense and a hardcore line.

I find his character, the “Elder”, an amazing presence!! You watch him there’s so much power in him and no fear!! Regardless of age, he’s handsome and sexy always!!! 🥰🌹💘
Kind of weird Prince didn't see this coming. She almost killed the grandson of a Yakuza boss and just assumed he wouldn't make sure said kid is protected?
I think she knew there'd been a falling out between the Father and the Elder and thus guessed the injured kid wouldn't have the protection of a professional killer like that nurse watching over him. If anything, she probably thought the boy would be protected by a visible and easily dispatched guard waiting in his room as opposed to an operative in disguise working on the Elder's behalf. In short, she thought she was only dealing with the Father and not the Father's father.
She is also the child of someone considered "untouchable" ontop of being unestimated because no one knew who she was....it's kinda ironic in a twisted way
Smart vs experienced. She knew the son and grandson were weak links, but never expected someone to actually give a shit about their family. She knew they were a weakness, but thats why people wear armor
prince was vicious but viciousness alone is not enough to survive in that world. you need cunning, wisdom, and experience. fear the old man in jobs where men die young.
Hey guys, if you guys want something old school check out his older movies, featuring his sensei Shinichi (Sonny) Chiba. I would highly recommend checking out “Kotaro Makari-toru!”, “Roaring Fire”, “Ninja Wars”, and “Legend of the Eight Samurai”. Those are five good movies that him and Sonny were in. And there’s also “Ninja in the Dragon’s Den”. But I would strongly suggest also seeing one of (I believe) his first works, the movie “Message From Space” and the tv show “Message From Space: Galactic Wars”, which me and my good buddy binge watched all the way through last year’s summer. Both those have great characters, an amazing story, and more importantly a beautiful soundtrack. Hiroyuki Sanada is truly a marvel. I could go on forever. And there’s more of Sonny and Hiroyuki’s work on TubiTV like “Shogun’s Mission”, which I am currently watching right now. I feel like I have said enough. Anyways, go ahead and check their stuff out fells! 🤘🏻😎
