Well, Ladybug wasn't making him - his own britishness and just being an absolute chap did😂 he may hate the guy something fierce, but he won't be feeling like a bell end for leaving an old man thirsty (or hanging awkwardly) - just not something a proper gent would have on his conscience, circumstances be darned.
To be fair, a comedy actor or comedian can absolutely nail far more serious roles than some "regular" actors. I mean the great late Robin Williams, Adam Sandler, Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, etc are great examples of that
