- I bought the Quick shifter from Cordona for my Honda Africa Twin adventure sports, since it was half the price comparing to the original from Honda. In this video i do the installation and i will give a review about the Cordona Quick shifter and how it performs on my Africa Twin adventure sports from 2019.

The strain gauge switch (which is what the Cordona quickshifter/downshift rev matched ‘blipper’) is in fact the absolute top level currently used in elite superbike the world over. Granted - certain bikes such as the BMW S1000RR/M1000RR generally use an Alpha Racing ECU with standalone Motec electronics controller/data logging etc etc and it’s Indeed much more advanced not to mention starts at $12,000.00USD. However the tech for this device is by design identical. The 1-2 shift just requires slightly more attention. Simply use a bit more motion on foot lever and you’ll never get that ‘false neutral’ where rpm’s build and when it finally finds 2nd maybe a grind or ugly noise. I’ve no affiliation with Cordoba besides some top level superbike mechanics and data number crunchers said to give it a go on my 22 BMW S1000RR. It’s working A+ and I’d say the Honda unit is not more quality/technology or otherwise - simply more $$$. I’ve no dog in the fight but strain gauge is the exact technology correctly being used by guys who are at the pinnacle of their craft. I had second guessed the info myself and given time to research and verify by others far more knowledgeable than myself and came to find short of a full race level stand alone $12,000.00 race ECU that this is simply a small part of - you indeed would be hard pressed to get superior quickshifter. Of course some simply prefer other brands or software that offer some other specific benefits such as programmable kill times per for each gear change (as in a slightly longer 1-2 shift kill time (say 120 milliseconds where 2-3 3-4 4-5 5-6 might be set to 80 milliseconds as the dreaded false neutral isn’t a worry). When on 1,000cc superbike with 200hp to rear wheel if you fail to be very accurate on the 1-2 shift and limp stroke the lever while running full redline RPM of 13,500 it can make for a real bad day. But if this Cordoba can easily perform that service it should surely do you proud and reliable on your fantastic adventure motorcycle. Safe traveling out there!

As investigation to the crf1000-1100 qs i like to know is it inside micro switched (or strain gauge)
is it on 5volt from connector ,and is the sensor output hi on upshifting (5 volt ,4,5 volt ?)
and low on downshifting ( 0,5 volt or 0 volt ?) and in non used 2,5 volt ?
and how much pendal pressure to get it switched (5 kg /10 kg or ?? kg)

Oh wouw, you are asking really deep questions here. Maybe you better contact cordona by mail because I really don’t know (and or understand) all I know it’s working and working fine :)
Hi Roland, I just got this Quickshifter installed on my Africa Twin. But I have a issue, the Blipper function doesn't work, but the settings are correct. Did you have anything like that happen to you?
It won’t shift down?
@@TheRideWithRoland Exactly, the clutchless downshifting (blipping) wont work regardless of what gear i'm in. The upshifting does function fine
@@CaptainCrossplane did you enable the downshifting on the twin also? You must set up and down to enable , did you do that?

@@TheRideWithRoland I thoroughly tested it today. Up and Down are both enabled. But downshifting doesn't work at all. I also noticed that upshifting doesn't work after a certain RPM's. Like from 2 to 3 only works below 4000rpms, 3 to 4 below 5000, and 4 to 5 below 6500. From 1 to 2 it refuses to upshift. Did you do anything to the ECU of the Africa Twin?

Heel fijn. Maar omdat ik 5 motoren heb EN het weer niet echt meezit heb ik er eerlijk gezegd nog niet veel op gereden 😬
Ik vind een quickshifter vooral fijn bij het terug schakelen. Bij de motoren waar ik geen quick shifter op heb gebruik ik sowieso bijna nooit de koppeling bij opschakelen (kan gewoon goed mits je wel je gas dicht draait op dat moment ) maar terug schakelen zonder koppeling moet je dan niet proberen lol 😂
@@TheRideWithRoland 5! Wat een luxe . Maar top 🤙 , geen verkeerde mod dan . En ja errug jammer van het weer . Maar er komen nog mooie dagen genoeg . Nu nog tijd 😎

Thanks for telling us that under the battery cover is the battery... I thought the headlight would be under the battery cover..😉
