I sit in the South Stand and I’m telling you most of us are well behind Ange. The players and the manager need our support more than ever. Let’s get behind them! COYS
I’m more Ange-in after yesterday. As Ange said give the backline we had vs fresh best team in the world right now. It can happen. I’m still happy the players went to get more being so far behind. It showed a real character.
It wasn't like that at the game. Liverpool slowed down. When it went to 3-5, Liverpool pushed on and scored a sixth with ease. I was there, it wasn't a contest from the first to the last minute. Liverpool were on a different level, and Spurs looked exhausted!
I’m beginning to get really tired of all the pundits and commentators joking or talking down about how we play. Sure it doesn’t always work but if everyone played the exact same way football would be so boring. Yesterday was incredibly unfortunate as Liverpool are the last team we needed to face at the current time. We need more players, we need players back from injury. We need to fully support our team and our manager.
Yes, people are confused on why this club play this way while it’s clearly not working out for them. Their are some other clubs seems quite enjoy the way we play tho
Doesn't always work ?? I can't remember Spurs losing 8 league game b4 Christmas , and i've supported the club for 62 years . I don't think we suffered that , even in the relegation season
Omg are you serious. "Sure it doesn't always work but if everyone played the same way it would be boring". Playing ultra-attacking football with players injured against a top opponent is ridiculous. Digging in deep for one game and try to hit on the counter would be forgiven surely, but nope. No tactical flexibility and instead EVERYONE knows what we do and how to play against us.
The immediate context of the Liverpool game is that Liverpool rested 8 starters who played against a young, inexperienced, and fatigued defense playing their 3rd game in a week. The medium term context is that Spurs have missed anywhere from 7-10 players for the last 2 months and missing players is doubly damning for Ange’s style that requires energy in all phases of the game. The long term context is that Spurs have overhauled their squad and made it drastically younger and it will take more than a season for things to click considering, for example, that two of their key players are 18 year olds. Ange is suffering a history injury and absentee crisis that is hard to legislate for. He couldn’t predict that a player would get a 7 match ban for being racist or that his whole backline would be injured or that half of his front line would be unavailable for the first half of the season. There is, however, more than enough evidence to demonstrate that his system is devastatingly effective when players are fit and available. Moreover, taking the Spurs job at the time he did was damn near career suicide for Ange considering the absolute dumpster fire that the club was in post Conte. He took our club at our worst and not once has he disparaged the club like Conte did every fortnite. The least that we can do as fans is repay the faith he showed to our club at our worst and support the guy through what is a historic low.
I thought we actually played quite well given how depleted and overworked the players are, against the best in the land by a country mile atm... Played the full 90 minutes. Gray, Deki and Djed were great!
That Tottenham fan tone "hello everyone, Alasdair Gold here". I feel for Tottenham fans. As a Celtic fan and, as a result, an Ange fan, I really want Tottenham to do well. Hope they stick with him.
I don't know how much Spurs fans will care about this but I think Ange has brought quite a lot of good will to the club from neutral fans. 'Spursy' as an idea is slowly changing. For years you were the team who lost through weakness, now you're the most rocknroll team in the league! "It's better to burn out than fade away" ... or maybe even "To dare is to do", if that your actual philosophy, Ange is your perfect manager. He lives that
We appreciate the compliment but this is part of the problem - other fans generally see us as a soft touch. Opposition managers love this manager but they don't have any fear of him nor his tactics.
@@tc-ou2zb Hmmm. I kinda get where you're coming from but at the same time, Spurs have been a soft touch for my entire lifetime and if you think opposition managers don't fear a team that's scored 39 goals in 17 games, you're crazy. Yes, you can be got at but you can also destroy teams. I personally believe this is the 1st time you've been feared in decades
He's definitely a Spurs manager in spirit, but that's not enough these days. I'm a rival fan & can honestly say I don't fear Spurs what so ever with this guy at the helm. In a one off match sure, one of the best attacking teams in the league, but over the course of a season? Nah. I'm thinking the Bournemouth manager is made for Spurs with every passing week now. There's serious Spurs at their pomp w/Poch vibes about Bournemouth this season - it feels natural.
We are 18 months into a Major Rebuild!!!!! Liverpool is a settled side, and Tottenham is far from it. This Team is a Frankenstein of a Team with players from Poch, Mourinio, and Conte eras. Please Guys have patience, Daniel Levy break a habit of a lifetime, keep your finger off the Trigger when things get a bit awkward. Please fully back Ange in the January Market and the Summer We also need to remember that we have a Major injury crisis to deal with. We were always Lambs to the slaughter against Liverpool. We need to stay patient and hopefully get a few more ready-made players in through the door. especially a competent No,6
Hi. Strikes me that it was a perfect storm. Liverpool touched the ball and it turned to gold (LOL) every thing they did worked, Spurs were tired and missing 10 members of the squad. Spence has grown well, Gray is becoming a leader and Deki has become a go to player.
Im definitely far more Ange In than I was before the Liverpool match. I know it may seem extremely unhinged considering the scoreline but the fact the guys didnt put their heads down after going down 2-0 and then 4-1 and 5-1 and were still trying to score goals until they got back to 5-3 shows me how much these guys believe in Ange and what hes trying to do. We've seen Spurs teams in just the recent past that were allegedly more defensively sound yhat would've crumbled the minute the first goal went in and it likely would've end 0-6 or 0-7 but they didnt give up and i think that should be commended and earn Ange a ton more credit
Dreamer, you proud of that defending or that system, also we have done much the same with our missing players on the pitch. It will not work at this level, not now not ever. Ange will NOT change his system either.
I am 61 and have been going to Tottenham for longer than I care to remember. The last time we won the league I wasn't even a twinkle in my old man's eye! The best times I had supporting Tottenham were the 80's we had good players who won FA Cups, League Cups and Uefa Cups but were really never close to winning the league. Most of those cups that we used to win have been hoovered up by today's money teams who didn't win much at all back then (we all know who I am talking about) (that's where the impatience comes from and why Harry Kane remains trophy less). To win anything is doubly difficult due to resources available to some teams now. Also we have done the manager merry-go-round to no avail and frankly I am bored of that prospect and who is going to come in and make a difference anyway? That is not to say I think Ange is perfect there is no way we can continue like this and I do think he is going to have to reconsider the way we defend and game management particularly when we have a good lead because if he doesn't he will lose all the fans and his job. Cheers Ali.
Thanks, Alasdair. Disappointing as it was, I appreciate that the team did not give up. Memories of Spurs throwing in the towel are still fresh and I give the team credit that they didn’t resort to that behavior. I knew it would be a tough match in light of so many injuries and over playing. I also worried about Forster not regaining his confidence. Hope he can shake it off. And, yes, we need to win against Forest. It’s also good to see the players being supportive of Ange and showing a more “team-like” attitude. I remain supportive of Ange.
Ange needs to be extended. He will get us success. It's a perfect storm currently. That won't last forever and when we get our players back and reinforcements in the trade period over summer we will be a top 4 side. Mark my words.
The sample size is getting big. Since the initial unbeaten run in 2023, Spurs have had mid table form. Many of the worst results occurred outside of injury crises.
Just wanted to say I personally truly value the dedication and insightful reporting you do covering this crazy (at times) club we support. Your work provides all of us with valuable information and (imo) the only journalists that I enjoy reading and listening to on all things Tottenham. Wishing you and your family an amazing Christmas Mr Gold and keep up the great work.
Would having romero and vdv back change the fact that we totally lost the game in midfield and the 2 at the back were constantly exposed through FB pushing so high? Sometimes you need to call a spade a spade. Ange has not managed this period very well
What mentality? Please tell me what the mentality was when we... Gave up 2-0 leads to Brighton and Chelsea and lost. Took 1 point from games against Ipswich, palace and Leicester. Lost 8 games out of 17. What's this mentality you speak of? I don't see it
@masterful Sticking to our guns under pressure and getting two goals back against liverpool in a tough situation and not letting their heads drop is a good example, playing our football even when armchair “tacticians” talk nonsense. Arteta arguably lost the league title last season by buckling under pressure to play defensive against city and not go out and win the game. True consistency can only naturally be achieved by repetition, and we have plenty of proof our football can win us big games.
@masterful if people could understand this mentality they would be better off in most aspects of life, not just football. A little bit of self belief can do a lot.
@@bb5979 actually there is much more proof thag we can't win big games. We have won 2 out of 9 against the top 10 this season and last season was pretty poor as well
@@bb5979 what self belief? Cool we scored a couple of goals. And lost the game by 3 goals. We capitulated against Chelsea and Brighton. We lost to 2 relegation strugglers. We haven't beaten anyone decent when we played them in the europa. Where was this amazing self belief trait then?
We were dead , we haven't been able to change players in weeks and if you swap the managers slot would struggle as well , we have got rid of over 20 players as well Liverpool have had the same team for years and are on a different level
yes so why not just realise we cant play againts liverpool right now the way we want so lets keep tight stop them scoring ,play counter attacking try to get a goal and keep tight and late on liverpool vulnerable pushing up if is a big word i know but at least give our self a chance
Ange Playing ultra-attacking football with lots of players injured against a top opponent is ridiculous. Digging in deep for one game and try to hit on the counter would be forgiven surely, but nope. No tactical flexibility and instead EVERYONE knows what we do and how to play against us.
You think our back line would hold up parking the bus? They’d still score 3-4 and it’d be a boring frustrating grind that everyone would have hated, even the pro Ange folks. The haters will hate no matter what he does
@j24ish erm... No. Tactical flexibility is not the same as parking the bus. Utilising the players at your disposal to the best of THEIR ability, against the opposition you face is what Ange needs to do. Slow the game down, frustrate the opponent, break on them quickly. Ange does none of that and that's why we've lost 8 games already.
These fans are entitled with nothing to be entitled about. He is playing fantastic entertaining football he has 8 players missing. He's been there 17 months it took Ferguson 42 months to win a trophy. It takes time losing 6-3 is better than losing 3-0. He will get this right football needs to be exciting not boring. He's a top man and manager. Real Madrid 60s Holland 70s still talked about today
Tightening up the defence when you have a makeshift, knackered back five, perhaps by throwing in a extra midfield defender, is just common sense not a betrayal of your principles.
Reflected on yesterday a bit more. We could have played that full strength Liverpool side and easily lost 0-3. Instead we went for them. 1-2 at halftime was readily achievable. So to me, we need to tighten defensively but not throw out our daring style...To Dare is To Do ... very proud of the team yesterday COYS
It really is this simple. We have been calling for a direction in this club. Now we have one. People with any sense know this is going to be like a 3 year plan before we are anywhere near finished. Poch took 2 years to be anywhere near title challenges 3 years to be a very good team. The turn over of players is mental. Saying that. People like son and biss need to be sold.
Happy Holidays Ali! Thanks for all the videos this year. I feel like everyone is knackered, that on top of injuries hasn't helped. Still fully behind Ange.
Liverpool could’ve scored tbf. Once again we were so wide open and susceptible to the same ball over the top. We would’ve still been smashed with all our defenders back.
Thanks for your thoughts and efforts all year Ali, you have been great. One thing.... Those who are interested in social media can experience it first-hand...those who aren't interested in social media don't want to experience it's reactionary silliness second hand either .... even from your good self.
Greetings from Sydney. When it comes to issues with the decimated Spurs team, the pundits are looking looking, mostly, in the wrong direction. The front five are exhausted. In Ange's system (Spurs, Celtic, Yokohama) the team defends from the front. The front five are the key to defending. Son, Kulu, Solanke, Maddison and Sarr are spent. Because there is no front five depth on the bench, they have had to play game after game. I'd love to see statistics on how many minutes the starting front five tonight have played across all games since the Man City win. I bet it's significantly higher than for LFC's front five or ManU from Thursday night. No Odobert, Moore, Richarlison & Bentancur, and a lack of Premier League ready transfers over the summer has left the squad running on fumes. I'm surprised they played as well as they did under the circumstances.
@@adammacfarlane9351of course we want our club to win, but these are very difficult situations for us. The carabao cup is a different story since most of our players will be back then. But, even then we’ll be big time underdogs.
Sorry Alasdair. It doesn’t sit right with me that you’re sitting here excusing a 6 goal battering. You say Archie Gray and Spence played well but they were part of conceding 6 goals and these defenders kept out City’s attack 4-0, put 5 past Soton and kept United out until Forster gave them 2 goals for free. Liverpool had 9 big chances and could (should) have scored more. It’s the system and Ange’s lack of rotation that has cost us. Why did he not rest Udogie/Porro for Spence before they got overplayed? For this game he should’ve subbed Udogie on much sooner and moved Spence to the right, probably started one of BJ/Werner and Bergvall in midfield, just to keep energy levels up. I’ve never seen so many excuses for a pathetic battering. When we’re conceding the same goal time after time, a long ball over the backline, do something about it! No, “it’s just who we are mate”. And why is the alternative to Angeball boring defensive play? It doesn’t have to be, how about being balanced and working on weak areas of the team? No, that would make too much sense. This club is rotten to the core, stop excusing it. This is the first time since Redknapp took over from Ramos we’ve been bottom table come Christmas. Full team or not, we haven’t been consistent since Chelsea (H) last season. Also, adapting play to suit the players available to your disposal is NOT abandoning your principles, it’s adapting to the current situation. When he knows Forster is nervous from the United game, tell him to make easy passes for the opening 20 minutes or so, not to make more risky passes that almost cost us goals because “that’s on me, mate”. It doesn’t have to be two extremes all the time.
Good points about Conte and Mourinho. They were 'win at all costs' managers, and they didn't win. They did not have a vision. Ange has a vision for sure. The defensive structure has to change - you are right!. Can any player be an excellent attacker and a great defender? Can the human body do it without injury? Why, in the name of Beelzebub, can we spend many millions of dollars, buy 14 players that Ange wants, and still not have enough players. How do Liverpool do it? Can we not learn from them? There must be a way to do it. Liverpool, apparently have enough fit people to run two high quality teams, one for the Cup and another for the League? How do they do it? Are they Supermen? WHY DON'T WE LEARN FROM OTHER TEAMS AND STOP BEING SO STUBBORN!
Part of the problem is that the new stadium hasn’t been the thing to elevate the club to the next level as promised. Yes the record transfer fee is now bigger than 2017 when the left WHL, and levy might argue that’s progress as we now spend more than then. But on the field it’s not leading anywhere.
I've supported spurs since 1958 I've seen great great times and seen worst ,this present situation has not discouraged me one bit if anything bothers me its the fans that go from game to game up and down none of us enjoy these bad times but lets not waiver in our support for our club and realise the big gulf in the two sides that took to the field Sunday .
We now live in a world where people have short attention spans. They want (fairly) instant gratification. The Tottenham board have been rather like that too. If Fergie had started his managerial career in this decade's febrile environment he would not have survived more than two years. The same goes for Wenger. Ange has my sympathy. During Conte's reign there was the fan clamour, 'We want our Tottenham back!' Well Ange has delivered on that front and I think this is why there is still strong support for Ange in some quarters. He deserves the squad to be strengthened again in January and the summer. If by next Christmas we are in the bottom half of the table then perhaps I'll change my mind. Thanks for your ongoing dedicated coverage, it is appreciated.
Happy Festivus, Ali! In the airing of grievances, could we include sportswriters and analysts who give other managers the benefit of the doubt when they’re missing 1-2 players but not Ange? A “fog of injuries” is a great way to describe it!
Unfortunately nothing will change until levy goes.. He’s meant to be having an interview with Simon Jordan released soon. Hopefully saying he’ll be gone… Sooner the better.. Rotten to the core.. 20 years of failure. Last year moaning about not enough games, now it’s too many.. Ffs Levy out
I feel almost completely alone in this, but I did genuinely enjoy that game despite it being a pretty big loss... I didn't have great expectations, which helps a lot! 😂 Obviously at 1-5 it's a horrible feeling, but when we pulled it back to 2-5 and 3-5 it's not unrealistic to believe we could score one or two more. Looking where we were a few years ago and the current state of the squad, that's progress in and of itself in my opinion! Liverpool are just so class, have loads of depth and punish small mistakes. They are the benchmark for us to be honest! Give it some time to develop the squad and I honestly see no reason why we can't compete with them eventually, but right now they are on another level to pretty much everyone else in world football generally IMO.
While all social media can have bad actors, I think the split between X and Bluesky is that a good chunk of new Spurs related users came to Bluesky to escape a lot of the dialogue that happens there. Overall, as it stands now, while we can all have different opinions, it feels more civil on Bluesky (also doesn’t hurt that it open sources their moderation tools). Also it does feel like the crowd there might be a bit older or at least has interests outside of football/soccer and doesn’t mind talking about that from time to time.
Forster continued to suggest he got injured against MU, with exaggerated use of his feet and difficulty getting into a crouching position. If that's true then it raises the question of: are Austin and Whiteman so poor they still can't be brought on in an emergency?
The lack of a DM who would hold their position was obvious. Szoboszlai killed us, because we failed to cut out balls bypassing midfield. Still giving the ball away far too much. Particularly Bissouma, and Sarr. Sonny seems to have lost a yard. Still brave in defeat.
I take it the reason Ange came out for the second-half shaking he's head was a coded message for he's wife at home to cook that special chicken dish he's particularly fond of . . . You can but guess . . ?
It was a late game so Iceland would be shut so not enough time for his wife to get Chicken Dippers in. Frankfurters in the fridge when he gets in, she's off to bed 😢
Zabarnyi and Huijsen are 22 and 19. They've kept clean sheets against Spurs, United, City and Arsenal. They dont have better FBs alongside them that Spurs have. Is Iroala putting them in better situations to succeed, does he have better tactics?
"a right back playing at left back in second ever premier league start... an over user, over loaded right back who just looks like he's running on empty.." There is a solution to both of these problems, and that lies squarely on the manager who refused to give Spence minutes despite how good he has looked every time he's been on the pitch. I don't mind the loss to Liverpool, they are clearly the better side, but to absolve the manager of all blame for our current predicament is a bit much. He hasn't utilized his squad and rushing both our starting CB back was asking for disaster.
If Postecoglou believes what he says, it appears a key part of his approach is playing the same way in all situations. That would mean ignoring score, time remaining, and how the other side is adjusting to Spurs. It also implies you play the same way if the opponent is Liverpool or Southampton. That's fairly radical and it is getting glossed over. The assumption here focused on what is being built and how Spurs will play after the injured players return. But the question will remain, is such an unusual approach viable? Is the focus more on entertainment than results? If someone told you there was no gravity and it was safe to jump out a building you wouldn't because you know there are consequences. Taking Postecoglou at his word, isn't he really saying that football gravity (the minimum things any reasonable coach must do and account for) doesn't exist? Do some due diligence and ask people who are in the profession if this can work, or at least look at what the ones who have commented are saying. Blind Faith was a fine English band, but a terrible way to look at a football system.
Ali - any chance you can ask Ange about Porto and whether he thinks he is suffering from fatigue. His performance drop off has been astounding. It seems as if Ange is very hesitant to give him a rest, but with Spence looking very good maybe that can change?
I agree with Ange that a lot of these media guys are just painting a narrative that Ange knows nothing about football besides “put ball in net”. The guy has been coaching for decades and apparently he knows less than guys that have near 0 coaching experience with all of them put together. And, its frustrating that they never seem to bring up the fact that we have 10 players injured, which includes our starting goalie and CBs. Any team would struggle in this situation, especially us because we already didn’t have great depth. But, it looks like the media are seeming to get ready for the Ange sack, which is why they’ve been going after him so much. Now that ten Hag is gone, they need to push the narrative of sacking another manager, its pathetic. But, the difference is the majority of Spurs fans want Ange in. We have seen a lot of great performances throughout this season, but its been marred by inexperience and injuries. Which would be helped if we had better squad depth. It’s not Ange’s job to ensure that we have quality squad depth. At the end of the day it is always the usual suspects that bring the quality of this team, but no one in the media ever criticizes them.
I'm standing with Ange here - the players love playing for him and that's the key barometer for me. Once the backline injuries are healed, we will see more stability in our defending and results. It's clear the team needs another CB for rotation, unless Dorrington is to come good sooner than later. Phillips and Vuskovich are not ready to start in the prem yet. Archie Gray has been great considering what Ange has asked of him but we really need him for RB rotation with Porro, who has already played over 1800 minutes this season. This style demands depth; time to open the checkbook, Daniel.
Results not good, the system is highly dependant on competent on-it defenders, Liverpool are a world class established team: losing is not a surprise. I'd much rather lose 3-6 than 0-3 in a turged horrible game. Get a good squad, solid defence & we will fly! COY Ange!
13 league defeats in 24 league games is extremely poor - carry on like this and we are set to finish in our worst league position for over 20 years. Certainly theres nothing in that depressing run of results to suggest we are making any kind of 'progress'. Yes weve got injuries and played a lot of games lately but arent they illustrating what a poor summer transfer window we had? Signing a load of kids who arent yet good enough at this level has meant weve been unable to cope with injuries and two games a week. Yesterday was our second worst home defeat in the history of the premier league. PS. dont know about you but i found all those comeback wins under conte - that amazing leicester game among them - pretty entertaining. Quite enjoyed being in the top 4 under him too.
For me it’s because you can see what he wants the team to do and you can see his idea of how football should be played. The future of the club is looking good with the players that have been invested in but what I want to see now are players bought for the now not in the next 5 years
I’m all for Anges philosophy but at 2-1 a message has to get across “Do Not Fucking Concede!” And if we’re at half time with 2-1 it changes the whole dynamic of the game for me
Oh Ali, I wasn't expecting anything else, but who else was expecting a win against the league title favourites and us playing with an injury ravaged squad. I hope we get to see the other side of how everything pans out once Ange is given time. Merry Christmas to you and your family Ali and roll on 2025🎄🎄🎄
Its going to be embarrassing if Ange doesn't beat Nuno on boxing day. His starting CBs cost 19m, thats half Archie Gray. Before the season starting, none of our fans would put a single player from Forest in the starting 11. Maybe Gibbs-White.
I think the reaction to the loss against Liverpool from certain fans demonstrates the unrealistic expectations they hold. Liverpool are fantastic and most teams lose to them now a days. Did we really have much of a chance with a depleted squad and fatigued starting 11?
Thank you for the video, Alasdair. I feel like there are many issues at the moment, but two of them are causing more issues: disconnection from the club and poor squad depth. It seems like the fanbase is becoming even more disconnected with the club, and that creates frustration and anger. So, with Levy refusing to take accountability and continuing to make the fans feel exploited and unimportant, that frustration and anger is directed at Ange and the players. For squad depth, I remember you saying that Ange wanted another center back in the summer. Having a LB/LCB hybrid player would've alleviated a lot of the over-playing and injury issues for Udogie, Davies, and Van de Ven. Ultimately not all injuries are on Ange, but I am confused why the club wouldn't build a bigger squad considering the intensity of Ange's philosophy. With January approaching, many fans, including myself, are skeptical that the club will do enough to help Ange. Compared to Liverpool, we are simply a level below technically. Key signings are needed to help turn the tide, but I'm not sure if Levy will sanction that. Hope you enjoy the holidays with your family!
I for one believe we have to give Postacoglu time, Ive seen enough to have belief in what he is trying to do. Look at when we forst came up from Division 2 in 78/79, we played Liverpool and lost 7-1.Had we not stuck with the general we wouldnt have seen the succesful years to come.
You dont want to see Gray in that 6. Hed be getting as much criticism as Bissouma. There were several breaks that Liverpool had where Bissouma had to cover for both FBs who were out of position and up the other side of the pitch.
Injuries are just an excuse when you get injuries it’s the perfect time to show your managerial abilities show that you can adapt this manager does not play to the strengths of the team his ego is getting in the way
I understand what you are saying about the thrown together defence. However if you have that to deal with surely adjust your team for that game ? Maybe try slightly different tatics for that game .. yes you might want to play " your way " but come on if you cant adjust for a few games is stupid .
100%. Don't have the personnel? Adjust the tactics. Remaining players are exhausted from the current schedule? Adjust the tactics. Ange let the team get whipped. We might have still lost but we play Forest away in three days. Adjust the tactics.
I think he doesn't seem to see that he doesn't have to stop training his beliefs and style, but for odd games when the personal isn't right for the game then just adjust your tactics a little , Liverpool would not of expected a different style from us , we might of even caught them unaware . It comes across as quite arrogant to the situation , I like Ange he just needs to be able to adjust to the squad availability.
Merry Xmas to you & the family Ali. I think Ange is getting some time from the fans because it is entertaining, edge of the seat and I'd rather have an entertaining loss than a boring one. As for the board I think they just don't want to pay for yet another change & draw attention to them being the problem. On an unrelated note: Shoutout to Djed Spence, I really love the shithousery that seems to be the core of his playing style.
I sit in the South Stand and I’m telling you most of us are well behind Ange.
The players and the manager need our support more than ever. Let’s get behind them! COYS
The old concede 6 at home to give them a false sense of security going into the League Cup semifinal trick. We've got em right where we want them 😂.

Spot on.
I thought we actually played quite well given how depleted and overworked the players are, against the best in the land by a country mile atm... Played the full 90 minutes. Gray, Deki and Djed were great!
I'm starting to not like our fans against Ange because they might be the ones that get him fired before he has got his final sqd assembled
That Tottenham fan tone "hello everyone, Alasdair Gold here". I feel for Tottenham fans. As a Celtic fan and, as a result, an Ange fan, I really want Tottenham to do well. Hope they stick with him.
Celtic person.. What changed from throwing tennis balls on the pitch to loving Ange.. Was it when he won things.. Or did he win u over before?
Isn't Rodgers doing just as well as Ange did? He got Leicester relegated. Perhaps they're the same level? Can't cut it in the PL
@tc i know liverpool fans that said if they hadnt got slot they would have given ange a go if they approached him
He's definitely a Spurs manager in spirit, but that's not enough these days.
This is the stupidest take ever. People will forget about you when your in the championship getting beat 8-0 each weak lol
It's 10 missing now the last comment I read above it was 9.
It's 3 gk 2 cb and bentancur suspension the rest are bench players at best.
Not surprised Liverpool beat us.Im still 100% behind our manager. Let's get behind our team. COYS
11th in the league at Christmas.
Ange out
Dreamer, you proud of that defending or that system, also we have done much the same with our missing players on the pitch.
Thanks for the video Alasdair and for your coverage over the last year. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas
@@eriklakeland3857because right now they are a mid table team.
Hi Ali, I'm afraid I've checked out and don't even listen to Ange's post match pressers anymore!
Hi Ali, thanks for all your good work over the year and wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas 😊 coys
If we sack Ange I will stop believing in this club and where we are going. I'm on board for this rebuild.
F the haters. Liverpool are the best team in Europe at this point and we have defenders mia.
Our real defenders have been shit too
Eh? Even Real Madrid should not be scoring 6 at our ground, clueless
Would having romero and vdv back change the fact that we totally lost the game in midfield and the 2 at the back were constantly exposed through FB pushing so high? Sometimes you need to call a spade a spade. Ange has not managed this period very well
@@samyan24 Exactly.....I have seen us being just as bad with our best 11 on the park too. It's bonkers football. Like Bielsa at Leeds.
After the Liverpool game I’m totally Ange in .. 6-3 is better than 0-2
How about losing 7 - 10. Would that keep you Ange in ? 🤦
7 goals against Pool would be pretty impressive.
These videos should be titled Gold Therapy: A Sense of Calm
Nothing about that game surprised me, still fully behind ange. He brings a mentality that this team has needed for a long time.
What mentality? Please tell me what the mentality was when we...
Gave up 2-0 leads to Brighton and Chelsea and lost.
Took 1 point from games against Ipswich, palace and Leicester.
Lost 8 games out of 17.
What's this mentality you speak of? I don't see it
@masterful
Sticking to our guns under pressure and getting two goals back against liverpool in a tough situation and not letting their heads drop is a good example, playing our football even when armchair “tacticians” talk nonsense.
Cannot agree regarding swapping managers, if we swap managers we will lose a system that WILL NOT work in these league at this level !
yes so why not just realise we cant play againts liverpool right now the way we want so lets keep tight stop them scoring ,play counter attacking try to get a goal and keep tight and late on liverpool vulnerable pushing up if is a big word i know but at least give our self a chance
@@frozenice61 Stubborn Ange says at EVERY press conference HE WILL NOT CHANGE ✌✌
Did someone forget to tell Man city? Or Man united?
Yeah we should have give them a clean sheet shouldnt we
Did we not play defensive and counter with Jose and Conte? What did that get us? Nothing. Style of play is not the problem
He played Sarr and Bissouma. They just didn't do a good enough job defensively. Liverpool cut through our midfield at will.
Son is not getting sold
Happy Holidays Ali! Thanks for all the videos this year.
I feel like everyone is knackered, that on top of injuries hasn't helped. Still fully behind Ange.
Merry Christmas Ali. Thanks for another year of great content
Merry Christmas AG! Another great video! Coys!
You Sir, are an absolute legend. I tip my hat to you.
So you agree he'll never work in the prem
Thank you for the videos through the year, Merry Christmas to you and the Family Alasdair.
Lol did anyone actually expect we would have beaten Liverpool? Please. Of all the losses this one bothered me the least
Might aswell give e them a bye in the carabou cup aswell this club man
1-0 6-3 does it really make a difference 😂
@@adammacfarlane9351of course we want our club to win, but these are very difficult situations for us. The carabao cup is a different story since most of our players will be back then. But, even then we’ll be big time underdogs.
@humzachudhary2056 we can win at home 10 nil we will still lose at anfield 11 0 that's our club
Not sure how you took that as excusing conceding six goals. I said it was dreadful and embarrassing to do that, but simply added a touch of context.
Happy Christmas Ali. God bless and COYS!
"a leopard can't change it's spots" and Ange shouldn't change , Simple injuries is killing us but still giving 100%.
Merry Christmas to you Ali and your blessings
Merry Christmas Mister Gold, big ups from Deutschland
Hopefully saying he’ll be gone…
Sooner the better.. Rotten to the core.. 20 years of failure.
Last year moaning about not enough games, now it’s too many..
Ffs
Levy out
20 wins in 42 is quite poor. Most of the worst results occurred outside the injury crisis.
I feel almost completely alone in this, but I did genuinely enjoy that game despite it being a pretty big loss... I didn't have great expectations, which helps a lot! 😂
Obviously at 1-5 it's a horrible feeling, but when we pulled it back to 2-5 and 3-5 it's not unrealistic to believe we could score one or two more.
Nuno could have succeeded if he was allowed to play his style. The Spurs fans and board would never have allowed that.
Interesting that we wanted Slot (also Diaz)
Wishing you, Indy and your family, a very Merry Christmas, Ali! 🎅🌲
Same to you and yours Andrew.
I've got to say I'd prefer that we lose at home 6-3 rather than 3-0. Imagine losing 3-0 at home to Bournemouth 😉 (Well done Bournemouth by the way)
Conceding 3 at home means you’re playing a better team. Conceding 6 means you’re giving up big chances every time they try to move forward.
Ange won't last
Really good balanced podcast by Mr Gold here 👍
The lack of a DM who would hold their position was obvious.
Moronic comment
Zabarnyi and Huijsen are 22 and 19. They've kept clean sheets against Spurs, United, City and Arsenal. They dont have better FBs alongside them that Spurs have. Is Iroala putting them in better situations to succeed, does he have better tactics?
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Ali
To be fair, we have had some shit luck at the back.
Merry Xmas mr Gold and your family
Ali - any chance you can ask Ange about Porto and whether he thinks he is suffering from fatigue. His performance drop off has been astounding. It seems as if Ange is very hesitant to give him a rest, but with Spence looking very good maybe that can change?
Since Udogie was on the bench, Ange could've moved Spence to RB and brought him on at LB.
i agree with this-Spence was rampaging down the right in previous games-he couldn't/wouldn't do that down the left
Conceding 6 goals at home is terrible 😫
Yep, absolutely.
The Utd game was the final nail on the coffin for me. Then 3-6 was just taking the piss.
Simon Jordan is Levy's mate. Any interview will be a complete waste of time.
COY Ange!
Poro should play in Johnson's position, and Spence in Poro's,
There are reasons that spurs fans are attracted to spurs.... Postecoglu's values align well I believe.
Your analysis around 48 minutes was spot on. The team are rubbish sitting back. Southgate football, & that get rewarded with a knighthood.
The media in this country are so patronising and condescending, i don't blame him for getting annoyed after 18 months of the same crap.
Back the manager, back the team. Social media is a cesspit and getting worse.
Ali G is here… therapy time 👍
For me it’s because you can see what he wants the team to do and you can see his idea of how football should be played.
The future of the club is looking good with the players that have been invested in but what I want to see now are players bought for the now not in the next 5 years
Entertaining football doesn’t win games. Winning football always equal to winning games
Merry Christmas to you and your family Ali and roll on 2025🎄🎄🎄
The ones on social media generally suck.
Its going to be embarrassing if Ange doesn't beat Nuno on boxing day. His starting CBs cost 19m, thats half Archie Gray. Before the season starting, none of our fans would put a single player from Forest in the starting 11. Maybe Gibbs-White.
Happy Holidays. We are a long term project. I hope Levy sticks to it
I think the reaction to the loss against Liverpool from certain fans demonstrates the unrealistic expectations they hold. Liverpool are fantastic and most teams lose to them now a days. Did we really have much of a chance with a depleted squad and fatigued starting 11?
Lovely to see you Alasdair!
We thought things would improve last season when we got players back, but they didn’t so why should it be any different this time?
Injuries are just an excuse when you get injuries it’s the perfect time to show your managerial abilities show that you can adapt this manager does not play to the strengths of the team his ego is getting in the way
n’importe quoi !
We have seen coaches like Mourinho and Conte. They lost most times against Liverpool, so tell me what would be different
Give him time and backing. What’s the alternative?
Someone better
