Had this laptop for a month now and I absolutely love it, it just runs anything you throw at it. Well there a downside or caveat call it whatever you like - it tends to get loud as hell, it's like you are on plane when you remove the headphones another this which is just beyond awful and even this is a very soft description - the sound stereo speakers on this laptop are the worst, I mean its not possible to listen to basically anything... Well if both of the things are important for you, probably not the best laptop to buy, for me tho, since neither of these aspects play a big role it''s more then OK, and with a proper headset you can't hear the fan noise and for the bad sound quality of the speakers I use external speakers only... All the rest - well it's the top range gaming laptop after all, love the aluminum body and the keyboard is also excellent/ Hope that my review will help for those who are now in market for a new high-end gamin laptop.

I’m using a GS73 from 2017 with a 6700HQ and a GTX 1060 (full fat) and I’m still very happy with it. It’ll easily last me another 2 years. I still get 60 FPS in almost all games at 1080p with everything maxed out. And the 120hz screen is great for CS Go and just general everyday use. Great stuff from MSI!

Got an instant sub due to how down to earth your channel feels and how your performance actually seems like it is representative of real world performance, I have no idea how D2D got 150fps in overwatch with the 2018 gs65 on ultra mine barely reaches that with toned down high settings. He somehow managed to get 236 in overwatch as well while you got 142 on an upgraded spec?!? It seems fishy but keep up the great work!

What's the point of the 300hz refresh rate? 240Hz was already A LOT for a gaming laptop. What they need to put in my opinion is Sharp's IGZO panel on these MSI laptops. Better resolution, speed, and pixel density with lower power consumption! right?

I've been waiting too long for this computer too. Almost perfect, but I'm still hesitant to buy. The constant 95+ Celsius is a joke on the CPU during heavy tasks. Other than the temperature and the superloud fans it's good, but I will probably not buy it because of those reasons.

    • @CosmicApe

Agreed. I bought it because I need a PC upgrade. Overall, I think it's going to be really good. However, I'm immediately repasting the CPU and GPU, adding Fujipoly throughout the case, and undervolting. I'm hoping that combination will bring down temps, but it's just something that all laptops with this high-end hardware will suffer from...

I bought the GE66 and traded it in for the GS66 I was unhappy with the complete plastic design of the GE66 while the GS66 has more of a metal Sleek design. I should also mention that the GE66 does not support Windows hello though the GS66 has a better sound quality and is much louder than the GE66. So if you end up deciding between which one to buy I would say go for the GS66 over the GE66.

180 is not the official nit count. I dont know what settings he is on when he measured it, but I promise you the screen has a much higher nit count than 180. I read somewhere that it is 310, although I don't remember exactly where from.
