9:58 EQ is not meant to be used for what you're doing. That's why you hear the sound clipping. Never move the EQ above 0db instead lower the frequencies that you don't like.
I’ve had these for about two months now and am genuinely amazed. They block out all loud noises without even having to put the music on top volume, the battery life is super long and the sound quality is absolutely incredible. I just wish they were more comfy to sleep on like you mentioned, and that I could wear them in the rain.
I got you man! When wanting to switch devices go into bluetooth on the device it's connected to and disconnect it there, then you can instantly connect to the other device no pairing needed. I can switch devices in less than 8 seconds!
Amazingly detailed review of the long term side of these! Sadly, it's not a video style most youtubers consider, so thank you! Also, I just found your channel, and your stuff's edited so well! Reminds me of Jim's Review Room before he decided that he wanted to move on from reviewing audio equipment :(
Great review mate! That thing you mentioned about them not being good for sport was exactly the information I was trying to find out. I find reviews of products after long term use far more helpful and inciteful than product reviews of barely used products, so thank you.
You are the first one to mention the hardware screeching when pushed to the limit haha I got it too when messing with the settings with my headphones, this is very common with low end headphones but I never expected the xm3 to not handle some sound.
You can turn off then connect the e other device without going to pairing mood, if it saved then it’s great if it a new device then you must use pairing mood to connect them

Fantastic editing! Fantastic personality! Fantastic review! Just fantastic. Subscribed. Very good my friend.
Great review! I wonder how you recorded the different audio modes .... awesome! When it comes to pairing you can just disconnect the headphones in the bluetooth settings of one device and reconnect it on the other device. You don't have to power down and re-pair the headphones. What you can also do is use the Sony Connect app to connect one device via the other device. I connect my headphones to my phone via the bluetooth settings, connect the headphones to the Connect app and then an option to connect it via my phone pops up in my tablet's bluetooth settings. But this method creates a bit of audio delay and little audio drop-outs. Not ideal. I like to watch videos on my tablet because of the bigger screen and still be able to receive calls on my phone. The best option for me is to go into the bluetooth settings on my phone and disable audio and disable calls on my tablet. Now I can connect to both devices at the same time.
The editing provides a great flow to ur videos; u rlly do deserve a lot more recognition, one day you’ll get the recognition you deserve. Keep it up man👍🏼😀
You don't have to switch on and off to get into blue tooth connecting mode, just hold for 7 seconds, keep holding even after hearing "power off", it will enter pairing mode without switching off.
I wasn't sure about the Beats Solo 3, until I found you and now definitely will buy the Sony's, man your edition is so damn good, just adding this to encourage people to subscribe and support you, I'm doing it, cheers from Ireland!
Dude how you demonstrated noise cancelling was so good! And the video in general was so good! And not just this video. All of them I’ve watched. Looking forward to xm4 vs airpods max!
Nice review. I'm pleased with the xm3 model. The fit is comfortable and I love the sound quality out of the box. With the app I was able to use a flat EQ and drop the bass to-3.
have you ever experienced the crack in these headphones? Like the plastic inward of the headphones just coming off because of all the pressure they have to withstand. From doing research apparently it's a common issue and its the only thing that is preventing me from buying the headphones. I used to own a pair of 950bts from sony and they were complete garbage, the plastic started cracking after a year and they finally broke, afraid the same might happen with these.
I bought XM4s and there a couple of extra features. But your excellent and simple explanations helped me a great deal, understanding the system, from what Sony doesn’t put in user manuals or videos. Thanks
It has a good amount of extra bass straight out of the box so I can definitely see that. If you don’t like it tho, you can just turn the bass down to just how you like in the Sony App
iAmPaulObelley I often use my headphones without any music and have been noticing this sound frequently. After a while of non use, they go back to normal, and the cycle repeats. Maybe it’s just mine? Anyways, great video!
@@ebscobaker3469 Slight static noise is normal in ANC mode but when it gets too loud it is most likely a mainboard failure. I had the same issue after using the headphones in a very loud environment. I could hear crackling all over the place and the day after I could clearly hear how the white noise sound got louder and louder with use. So used warranty assurance and got the mainboard replaced, issue gone.
@@j1shin Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I don't have the warranty/receipt. My only way of actually getting rid of the noise is to not use ANC for a while.
Did you ever had any problems with cracking? Many people have issues with the plastic of the earcups, cracking while moving the head... Great video, greetings from Germany 😌
I love your videos, keep up the good work! There's something I'd like to point out about the WH-1000XM3s: They just snapped as I pulled them to get them to fit on my head one day. I have a big head yes. But then again, for a price tag like that, it annoys me that they had such a flimsy plastic clamp to hold the mechanics in place. UGH.
Exactly the reason why I haven’t bought them .. I like the sound quality ! But the materials of the headset is too plastic for that price tag 🏷.. I’ve just purchased valcos headset .. looking forward to trying them .. they seems to be better quality for only 150$
Great review packed full of information. I've had my Sonny's for a year now hardly ever have to charge them. They sound better when you turn the volume up high the mids and highs don't sound so good at low volume. But they go louder than all my other headphones and don't sound fatiguing at high volume
Mic is pretty bad and i hate that it turns on ambient sound while on a call. If I'm on a busy street, i can't hear the call at all.. by the way very good review... You deserve more subs for sure.. nice edits too 🥰

Normally I won’t even consider tech that’s 2 yrs old, but last month with $100 off, I decided to grab one. No regret so far. Able to listen to more details of my music with lower volume than using earbuds like WF1000XM3, hearing health is a concern to me, just don’t want to wear hearing aids earlier than I need to. The app is great with some preset EQ, vocal and bright are my choices. Connection to my iPhone 11 is quick and secure not even once it dropped. My 1st gen iPod drops so frequent just annoying. In fact all the Sony WI-XB400, WF1000XM3 and WH1000XM3 all connect fast and secure. I could have waited for XM4 but then it will not have sale right away and XM3 is enough for me especially with $100 off.
Thanks for the review. I'd like to add that noise cancelling from those headphones are particularly good for blocking human voices. NC are usually bad at cancelling such kind of sound, mostly because voices modulate all the time and they are anything but constant. But the wh-1000xm3 does a much better job than others to block them. I guess the XM4 is even better for that. Thanks Joe! You’re right you can always disconnect and reconnect to a previously paired device as long as you have the currently connected device on hand. With some other headphones, you don’t have to have the currently connected device with you. It can be somewhere around you like in your bag or wherever, but you can just grab your phone and connect to the headphones, and I’ll automatically kick out the other device without you having to do it first.
