Yall 2 guys are amazing and one of these years I want to fish with ya Matt. I don't even have to take a rod, just watch and soak in your knowledge of fish. Keep it up guys👍👍👍👍👍

    I’m a relatively new fisher so your (Matt &Tim) videos are so incredibly helpful and useful. This one in particular was amazing. I know there is much more involved but I feel like I just got a Masters degree level education on how to fish in July. Not just hey use these baits and you’ll catch fish. I mean you had everything in there from the why’s to the how’s. I have all those baits and you just made it so clear on why, how, when and where I could use them. Awesome! Thanks TB.

    DEFINATELY the worm is an awesome summer bait. I caught my biggest bass ever (11.2lb) on a 4 inch Zoom French Fry in ft of water.

    Hey Matt, I wanted to confirm what you said about the small jick head. Actually just yesterday, I caught 2 bass (4.68lbs and 2.64lbs) while no one else caught anything. I caught the big bass on a worm and the other one on a small jig head. Today I spent 3 hours in the heat with a bigger jig head going to deeper waters and caught nothing. I appreciate everything you and Jim do to help us (new anglers) be more affective at cathching good fish and using the right tools and techniques. Keep up the good work!!!

    I caught a 23” channel cat in a city pond (VERY stressed fish) with a Ozark Trail Hot Craw Crankbait last Tuesday. Sumbitch was 6” in diameter along the body and was every bit of 5.56lbs. Bite took me off balance and 2-3 steps to regain, then 2-3min to surface him, and 5min+ to even land him (no net). Personal PR and the biggest hardest fight of any freshwater fish my life!!!

    This is perfect timing, just registered the boat and trailer :). It's been tough finding time to get out with two little kids (10 year old is fine fishing but the 16 month old is in the grabby stage and he is walking so that could spell disaster in a boat...lol) but using this knowledge from your video I will at least have the right baits to maximize my chances with the time I do get on the water. Thanks for putting out great videos...you guys are the best in the biz!!!

    Great selection. If you have grass or shallow cover, a hematoma beaver flipped on ¾ or 1oz tungsten will produce GOOD FISH 365 days a year; hot or cold, muddy or clear, day or night. It is hardly ever a bad choice. If I just wanna have fun, I'll throw a Lake Fork Tackle Baby Boot Tail Shad, magic shad color, on a custom ³/¹⁶oz weedless head, on 4 or 6lb line. It's great for spots and schooling, suspended, or lethargic largemouths. I also caught a 10lb saltwater stripe on 4lb line and ultralight gear a coupla years back. Fun!

  • @Doug_Hinton
    @Doug_Hinton 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Here in southern Ohio our largemouth don't get as big as those southern bass,but the trade off is we have some giant smallies, I'm lucky enough to have several types of fisheries within a short drive,I'm walking distance from a river that consistently produces 18,19 and 20 inch smallies, I can decide to go fishing,load my kayak,drive 3 minutes,park,unload and launch and I'm instantly on a Riverbend with a 20' bedrock shelf,and on the smallies.
    I also fish a extremely gin clear reservoir, deep and steep ledges loaded with largmouth, and a few smallmouth, and a half hour drive either direction and I have a couple st park lakes, one is three small valleys that converge and was damned of in the late 50s for flood control, standing timber ,stocked with trout, and some really nice largmouth, the other is a medium sized lake, plenty of smallies and largemouths, but stocked with musky since 98, it has great steep edge points on the main channel, coves with Lilly pads.
    I definitely appreciate you situational breakdowns, as depending on which direction I feel like driving, I have knowhow and confidence to break them down and be efficient and effective.

      It always freaks me out how long it takes to rig up man- I never think it's going to take anywhere near as long as it does. Maybe it's just me but I get lost in making every presentation absolutely perfect- or as perfect as I can anyway-and once you do like 10-15 rods- takes a long time. That's too many rods- I still have a tendency to bring way too many rods and way too much tackle. Fear the man with 2-3 rods and a brown paper bag. Don't remember who I heard say that but, they were right

    Just got 4 large mouth out of the Cumberland river from the bank yesterday(june26,2022) with spinner bait and chatter bait… pretty sure all the bass are still on bed around here.. I know the small mouths in the creeks are for sure

    I am an absolute beginner and these videos have taught me a lot. Can you do a video for river fishing. That’s mainly what I do and can’t seem to catch anything but logs
