This video was great. I still own this vehicle and I need to get my door panel off, I think the linkage is not working. But this video was made SO well that as a girl, I think I can do this myself! Thank you so much 11 years later!! :)

Thanks so much for your series of videos. As a lightly experienced DIY'er, it's invaluable to be able to watch a pro explain and go through all the steps in a process. Every minute watching this channel probably saves ten that I would've have spent trying to figure it out. NTM all the broken plastic tabs and latches.
this is great. i was working on my friends truck today and i just couldn't find out why it was so picky. i have worked on f-150's and i had thought that they would be alike, but now i know the difference. thank you so much! i really appreciate this!
Thanks for your post! My window fell off the track when I applied a small amount of pressure to it from the inside on a foggy morning. It then fell into the door after 2 days. After I got the panel off I used three 1.5' long pieces of tape, folded the ends, fed them down through the window slit, taped them to the window, and pulled it up and taped it. I then raised the reg a little, and let the glass re-seat. Not sure if it will stay, but at least it's up until I figure the rest out.
great video help out alot. i had a froze window. i kept rolling up to try to break the ice up. didnt work. but it did pull the window out of the track and it broke out of the caulk that holds the window in. after you retrack your window add a bead of caulk to the two window tracks for the window to bond to so the window stays in the track. love the video thanks again ray.
Okay, I've watched multiple videos with this of yours, hell I actually drive the exact same model. No way does that bit of trim go so smoothly over that door handle.
I found another screw inside just above the door handle, removed it and the panel came right off. Also made better access by removing the speaker on the right to fit the track on that side. Thanks for the vid.
@TaKoH3aD214 It should come right off by lifting up on the door panel as the video shows. I would check to see if there's a hidden screw somewhere that you may have forgotten. Hope this helps you out.
quick tip for any one who has to reset the window on the track. Remove the speaker and move the track up to where you can reach through the speaker hole to set the window back in the slot.
Thanks for watching. We carry new window regulators for your Expedition if you have issues with the one you have. Here's a link to them on our website. We also offer FREE SHIPPING in the lower 48 states on them. www.1aauto.com/1A/WindowRegulators/Ford/Expedition?VideoReply&Forum&ATony
It should come off in a similar way. You just have to make sure that all of the trim pieces that bolt through the door panel are removed, then the panel should pop off for you.
We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this particular repair. We'll keep this request in mind if we need to make this repair in the future.
Great video, However, Im replacing the factory speakers in my Expedition, and they are 6"x8"s.... I bought 6"x9"s. I wish this video would've shown how to replace the actual speakers, as that's the description. Will I need to do any trimming to the inner door to make the new speakers fit?
2000 Navigator panel is different. Sail does not just pull up, it is screwed in from below. I broke it by pulling up. Also there is no main bolt in the upper right hand side of the panel (behind where the sail was). So far cannot figut out where bolts holding panel are.
Man, IDK what is going on, but on the 98 expedition I'm trying this on there is _absolutely no possible way_ that the little piece of panel behind the door handle will come off like that. It is physically smaller than the protrusion on the handle... Edit: also, you neglected to mention that you need to twist the lightbulb connector on the courtesy light so it will pass through the back when you take it off.
This helped me to get my door panel off, but I need to get my window up. It is stuck inside the door. I can see the window when I look down into the door, and I can see the part that brings the window up and down. How can I fix this problem?
Hi Shay, I'm not sure what size the speakers are. If you remove the door panel you should be able to tell. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393

Yeah I had the same problem. What I did was just twist it and push it back through behind the panel so it's out of the way.
I found another screw inside just above the door handle, removed it and the panel came right off. Also made better access by removing the speaker on the right to fit the track on that side. Thanks for the vid.

Great video. I will definitely consult your company when I shop for parts in the future.
@bedford31 It could be bolted in different locations than the Expedition.
Thanks for the video, my passenger window was frozen one morning and (my smart ass) kept trying to let it down and i pulled it out of the track.

Thanks, it was those hidden screws that was throwing me off. Saved me from going to the shop.
It may, however I've never tried to interchange them. The dealer may be able to tell you if it's the same door that was used.

Be nice if you show where 3rd screw was located.
I’m actually working on it right now and can’t find the third screw
My 2001 Expedition'sDriverside Door Panel Will Not Budge! I Took Off All The Screws Like The Vid But It Feels Like Its Stuck. Any Ideas!?

once the door panel is off you can usually push it up by hand.

Yep that Door panel has been off before because all of the tabs on the bottom are broke where someone snatched it straight off!
Will a 98 f150 door fit a 97 Expedition, I mean the actual door not just the panels.
What are the speaker sizes? Sorry its kinda off topic but It would help me out!
Hi Shay, I'm not sure what size the speakers are. If you remove the door panel you should be able to tell. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393

This is nothing like my '03, aka 2nd gen door panel layout. Disappointed that you didn't know any better with the title
