    cup cars are around 20-30kg lighter, have the cup suspension, springs and dampers plus the faster steering rack that you mentioned. They also have a different dashboard top - no soft touch plastic on dash, different lighter door cards without the normal door pull handle inside, no a/c as stock but it was a factory option, they came with Speedline wheels standard the same as those which are on your car but for your car they were an option and you couldn't get projector headlights on the cup either.
    All Clio RS197/200 come with Brembo's and both cup and FF cup pack have red calipers.
    Cambelts on 197's are 5 years, cambelts on 200's are 6 years or 72,000 miles

    All the Clio 197/200 come with brembo callipers just the 197/200 cup have them painted in red from factory. Clio 197/200 meg conversion cost £4,500 but it’s worth it but common to do, if you get a twingo rs133 and want the f4r done which is in the Clio 197/200 it cost £3,500 and is so much fun in my opinion
    Common issues for them: rust at the rear arches, accident damage, crunch in 3rd common issue easy fix, seat bluster coming away due to drivers side getting in and out common nothing major
    The engine it’s f4r but it’s actually in Clio 172/182/197/200 aswell just to be specific.

      What’s a seat bluster?

    • @boostedchris6120
      @boostedchris6120 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@trevorsanders5303 Seat bluster is just the bottom/ bottom right side on the drivers seat which is common to tear apart due to getting in and out multiple times, same as passenger side just left side of the seat

      Yep, F4R in MK2 are 730 series, MK3 830 series not quite thesame. MK2 easy to find, MK3 hard to find.

    Good video, owned a 182 for 10 years and i think its time to upgrade. A 200 seems the obvious choice

    8:20 doing timing belt also replace the crank and cam seals, they can leak causing "ghost" oil consumption without you finding little to no trace 👻🛢
    When replacing sensors go OE, exception for O2 sensors, you can get BOSCH. If you have electrical issues, first check battery, alternator and grounding.
    Other than that, good video.

    Great drivers cars especially with a few mods. Plenty of these running 180k miles or so. The gearbox is a sticking point, but it’s due to the clutch and slave wearing. If you buy one, only go to specialists for labour.
    The F4R has found use in many Renault cars, including the 172, 182 and Laguna. It’s basic architecture dates back to the F7R in the Williams.

    These cars in australia are expensive, not many were sold so they hold they value. You are looking at 20-25k AUD for a good example.

    I don’t know whether to purchase a fiesta ST or RS 200. I would prefer the NA engine but will be doing a lot of motorway miles and fuel economy has to be semi-sensible. I’m not sure the Clio will be worth the extra fuel/tax when the ST is on par.

    • @harveylewis5047
      @harveylewis5047  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both cars are great and I’ve driven both, the Clio is a lot more raw and you can feel connected to the car and the road more especially with how mine was setup. But have to drive it careful if you want a decent MPG.
      Fiesta fast and fun little car with a lot more power potential from factory but I personally think the clios make a more engaging drive and really sticks in the corners better. But MPG in a ST will be much better

      @joshbudden2595 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’re not that bad on fuel. Obviously not brilliant but for the enjoyment you get from it it’s worth it. I averaged about 29mpg roughly when I was dailying it (20 odd miles on motorway to and from work) still getting about 25mpg now it’s not a daily

    Does rs 200 have dual mass flywheel or just a simple clutch? How much is the timing belt with labour?

    • @thetruth7633
      @thetruth7633 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Single mass, replacing timing belt with labour and all parts, gaskets, water pump, tensioner, belt, dephaser pulley upwards to ~1K Euro. Do everything, OE stuff and by someone who knows what he does, don't skimp.
