Hey Daniel, I'm a snowboarder at heart. I love speed, carving, and the free and floaty feeling I get on a snowboard; and in the summer, I miss that feeling. Because of that I've been looking at e-skates for a while to try and see if it's something that would be a good replacement for snowboarding in the summer months, and your pitch about maneuverability and carvability on this board has brought me the closest to ever actually committing to buying an e-skate. I just have a few questions. Is this board good for someone with larger feet? Would it make a good board for a beginner to e-skates? How customizable and user friendly is the software if I wanted to lower power to learn how to ride it safely? Is it capable of braking while descending steeper grades or accelerating up them? As I live in a hillier area. How easy is it to travel with? Would you be able to check it at an airport? And lastly, is there some service in place to help owners with motor or battery replacements if they do fail? Are owners able to get batteries or motors to replace them on their own if they are mechanically or electronically inclined? I'm very interested in the hobby but just haven't been able to convince myself to pick one up, thanks.
Premium Power!! This will be the perfect board for when I drive to other cities to skate! Fantastic that you can kick it easily with NORMAL width trucks. I like that it have 80mm wheels also. This will be a blast!
Daniel, I respect your commitment to chasing the form factor and feature set that is missing from the market, instead of the typical "content creator brand" which is just rebadged trash following trends. I still need a large pneumatic-tire board for my commute due to the road quality where I am, but mad props to putting forward a board that actually seems like it exists for skaters, rather than just a different flavor of onewheel.
So glad you finally did it!! Super cool name parsec. I know it's gonna be a great product! Smart to focus on the portability and the ride quality truly a man for the actual longboard enthusiast that want the best of both worlds!!!!
I can't even skate but this video is so well made and I especially appreciate the honest acceptance of the design tradeoffs (i.e. manuevrability vs speed/size)
Absolutely call it the EPIC D, its filled with PREMIUM POWER as well. truly interested in this board, bridges that gap between my background of long board and eskate. congratulations on this and your future vision.
I suspect it's too late but for those of us that are concerned more about board longevity than range an option to cap charging and balance at 80% would be amazing.
It is definitely a very fresh breath of fresh air to the electric longboard and street board market, many innovations in a world-selling product. The starting price is excellent!!!! Congratulations on such a light longboard, with that design and all those great details. Indeed, everything seems to indicate that we are looking at a Premium Longboard. All the best!!
Daniel, as a diy enthusistnand battery builder, it is very nice to see a board like this hit the market. If I did not already have a diy to fit in this category, I would definitely consider this the best option. I took have wondered how light I could possibly make a board while still having it handle like a nice long board. The backfire mini was great at portability, but sacrificed too much in deck size, stiffness, hub motors etc. I'm glad to see you built this from the ground up. There is a lot of impressive tech in this and I can understand how truly difficult it is to get all that working together. Great job! I am running a heavily modified og zealot currently. You can check it out as the super Zealot in esk8news forum if you are interested . Again great work with this one. Really knocked it out of the park.
Congrats on launching Aero Pro, Daniel! It's inspiring to see you turn your vision for a high-quality lightweight e-board into reality. The focus on portability and premium parts really makes it stand out. Wishing you and the Aero Pro all the best-looking forward to seeing how it sets a new standard for lightweight e-boards! 🚀
Premium Power! It's great to see this. Your videos brought esk8 into the forefront for me. As one building a DIY board to travel with, this is awesome! I hope you have one in the cards with a airline-safe, switchable battery like the wave.
This is a beautiful board!! Im a heavier rider but got my start on a board that had a 346wh battery. I could get decent enough range. I have no doubt this board rips. I hope it sells well for you 👍🏻
Congrats dear Dainel you have commited a dream! Only a few product designers could get the amount of pain points in a single person that has the personal interest and user experience to solve those problems, it seems you achieved, now its time to wait until Parsec handles shpping to my fiendly Mexico, but were gonna wait and buy inmediatly. i Repeat, Congrats my dear Daniel.
Hi Daniel, I have to say your board tick absolutely all my boxes. I currently have the Phantom Miles which I'm happy with but by God if I had more cash flow I'd 100% buy your board. As seen below, you can rest assured your products will remain on the top of my list for the future... All the very best for this ground braking board, that EPIC D thing is smart my man!
Very nice. Looks like a skateboard. Very different from all these mountain board we see these days ( and i like ) . You got it, lightweight, portable, great for city use .... all these things you say for a long time. Good job ! Respect 👍
Ready to ride here in Canada once the weather clears up. Looks great and ready ....to join the revolution!!!! Send one preem my way I'll film everything :)
Daniel, I love where you are taking this idea. I have been riding eskate for over 6 years now and the boards have got way too tall and way too heavy. This will be a nice breath of fresh air being able to ride a board that is reliable, maneuverable, AND portable. Well done 👏
I totally agree with the sentiment, I am lugging around a 17kg 700Wh EUC anywhere and everywhere, always. I'd like it to weight less, like, dreaming of 12kg. Yet, my 17kg EUC has entirely replaced walking and cycling. I run up and down several flights of stairs with relative ease and push it with the trolley handle otherwise. That is, eventually, the 17kg have not been a deal breaker for me and I highly appreciate the safety aspect of having a wheel diameter of 400mm instead of 80-120mm, and I can ride most unpaved roads too. BTW, 222 Wh / 7 kg < 700 Wh / 17 kg < 444 Wh / 8.3 kg.
Great Job, seems to be the ultimate commuting esk8! For me ESK8 is more about having fun on sunny days, thats why i own a heavy powerful board. Also i live at the countryside. If i move back to the city this board would be amazing to have ❤❤
Damn, you're spot on about ebikes vs all terrain boards. I got a Meepo hurricane and I love it's comfort and power, but it's so incredibly heavy to carry and you can't really lock it up at a bike rack. I was also surprised to learn that Meepo doesn't make a carrying handle for the hurricane so I installed a crappy one myself that slightly helped with portability, but not much. I ended up using my ebike for most commuting purposes and also for off road riding. I only ended up using my board specifically when I wanted to carve.
Danial congrats on launching your own board! - Do you ship to New Zealand? - How the X is for pushing? I've been looking for a lightweight eboard with something to kick, that still looks like a longboard, I think you've hit the spot! Definitely keen to purchase one, amazing you're doing your own board. The work you've put in to this must be massive! Awesome job dude
I’ve already made the move to EUC because I personally don’t have many stairs to deal with. But this is 100% the right direction for e-skate!!! Just like u said there’s no need for a big heavy skateboard when other PEVs already do it better. I also have a propel endeavor, don’t get me wrong I love that board. At the time I got it it was my favorite board and I think it’s still super fun to carve on. But with it already being really heavy, I never really reach for it over my Begode t4 euc. It’s just more comfy and the trolley handle eliminates the hassle of it being super heavy… most of the time anyway. Would I want to use either of those products if I very often had to go upstairs indoors or lift it over subway gates? Hell no! I’d easily choose the exway x1. I’d didn’t like the exway wave as someone 6’1 with size 12 feet, it’s just too unstable for me, and even tho it’s lighter since it’s a short board you HAVE to carry it instead of pulling it like a suitcase. Lightweight longboards are the PERFECT solution!
I love the concepts supporting this design. Prioritizing lightness and portability while still offering some wheel size flexibility/customizability. Seems like it could be a really good option to have in the car and then finish my commute with, rather than pay outrageous parking fees.
Your expertise gives a clear design advantage, its very exciting! I hope this business is/stays cash flow positive. Seems like a harsh saturated market with a small customer base and infrequent repeat business.
What would that actually entail? Storage mode is essentially dropping the battery pack to somewhere around 50% capacity and periodically every few weeks checking on its charge state. Why would you need a “mode” for that?
I agree. COMMUTE is the core of this vehicle!! Still roads in my town Taipei is often messy, so a 105 cloudwheel is still the best. Also this is lighter than my TYNEE mini 3. I think 1p config is great. I wonder if a short form factor would decrease even more weight?
This is great, esk8 is great with portable/portableish form factors and not big wheels. This is still a skateboard/longboard with esk8 in it. Kickass board dkwan/parsec ⚡the epic belt is pretty rad also
Definitely agree this is a good step for electric skateboards. My biggest problem with my collection of boards is that they always seem to keep getting heavier and heavier. Assuming you're going to be making more boards after this, can I add my request for a lightweight shortboard with kicktail & enough clearance for cloudwheels? This would be my perfect board.
For some of us, being able to use AT tires isn't stylish or a "go fast" issue. It's more of a matter of safety. If there's a wheel I can put on these that can afford me the same amount of safety as an AT wheel, I'd be on this.
@@DanielKwan Will you come up with a directdrive version or maybe even a hub-drive for countries which require a more stealthy approach than the loud belt-type epic D? Real longboards as the Aero Pro aspires to be aren't that loud either. So the riding experience with dd will be closer to a normal longboard. Also, with the discontinuation of th X1 Max, it may be smart to fill this gap.
This board really looks like it has to be my next board. I recently bought a meepo voyager and tynee mini pro, but like the other comment said, I wanna ride them into the ground so I have an excuse to get this!
Hi! I love the thought process behind this board a lot! However I still prefer the aesthetic and compactness of hub motors. Do you plan on making an exway x1 max killer soon?
I don't even have to watch the video bro, 💯% I will get it. I'm still going to watch your video of course, i support you and hopefully you do not do me and your customers Wrong like Fabian/Onsra
*Premium Powah!* 🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽⚡️👌🏽 P45B is the way to go, been around a short while but glad prices dropped enough recently for more people to use it. 👌🏽 Anyone buyin really should go for the X, only a little heavier, worth the upgrade. Amazin belt drive design, for so many reasons. 👌🏽👏🏽 I like Epic DTS, Epic D is a little too on the nose lol. Very interestin truck design. I've ridden 50/50, 45/45, 50/45 and 45/40, on a slightly shorter wheelbase and defo prefer 50/45. Will be great to see riders tryin this out and share their thoughts, I think esk8 is still in split angle infancy so how things Evolve should be fun. So glad you chose normal width trucks, for RKP i love it - grips and turns nicer... wide trucks are more suited to esk8 TKP/DKP. As a truck geek, I'm lookin forward to hearin more aboit the trucks 🤙🏽 Carvin under 20mph is my kinda speed 👌🏽👌🏽 The future is Powerful! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
the last challenge i have for the most dream e-board is finding one that can go up and down city curbs without anything but the wheels making contact, i currently go down about 4-5inch ones no problem and up 2-3 inch ones no problem but usually any bigger and i hear some scratching to the back motors/cage xD
How does the coasting compare to a gear drive? What's the ride height with the 80 mm? Re; portability, any plans for a mini board in the foreseeable future? The ability to store your board in a locker or toss it in a shopping cart is a huge pro. Most mini boards will fit in a XL backpack duffel as well.
How is the push skate on it? Is there resistance or could this really be used as a independent longboard. Was looking at getting Loadedboad Tangent until I saw this a few weeks ago.
The quality looks very great. The best cells on the market is the perfect match for a battery with few cells is paralell. My only concern would be the very high rigidity of carbon combined with urethane wheels. Daniel, you should send one to esk8unity for a review. He loves light and maneuverable boards. Is the logo is exactly at the center of the deck ?
Dude, these look amazing. Premium power on a budget? I am happy to see you putting your expertise and talents into another project. I truly truly hope this company takes off for you. We really need a definitive brand and I think you have the stuff to pull it off, with some luck of course. I did have a question. Is it VESC? I can keep your secret. 🤫 Will the profile be able to be adjusted digitally?
Looks like a high quality light weight board. Whats the honest range for a 250 lb rider kick pushing to start? Granted my other 2P 466 WH board had lower quality cells and only got me around 14 miles on a good day.
Just in time to replace my dying X1 Max, can’t wait for it to arrive. OT are you still going to be reviewing other brands’ boards? what’s the future of this channel?
I don't think I'll be reviewing boards like I did in the past. If there's a high profile board maybe I'll give my comments. For the foreseeable future I have a ton of videos to make with the Aero!
Do you have any plans to create a guard for the underside of the motor mount? I don't want to see the CNC motor mount getting worn down every time I pop the board.
@@DanielKwan Another one of the reasons why I love my x1 max is LINE-X coating and bash guards. I often rides for commuting like you, but I still care about it.
The first batch will ship with a generic Hobbywing-like remote. We have a remote in development that I’ll make a separate video about when it’s ready to be announced. Current customers will receive it for free.
Hey, looks super cool, a lot of very good choices here, only thing i would do for safety is use harder bushing or more beefy ones on the back : this will give a more sensible feeling of safety and security, even on symetricals, 5 or 3 durometers difference between the front bushings (softer) and the back (harder) should be enough (90/90 front or 88/88, 93/93 rear ?) . Cheers ! Precision trucks for eskate is the thing that is missing the most in the market now, i like those specs, rakeless is enough for eskate, looks like a super good product from a quite advanced downhill skateboarder point of view
The rear is tightened more by one turn out of the box. 5 duro difference seems like a lot to me on symmetrical trucks. I don't like how a wheel lifts off the ground on a tight turn.
@@DanielKwan enough for your use case i guess, 5 duros split would be for a skilled rider to go around 70kph or more, maybe 3 would feel better even in that scénario super nice to see you care about those details ! Good work sir
I'm confused how the idler pulley works. Is just gently providing more contact between the belt and the driven gear without a bunch of extra tension? But also you mentioned tension settings, so does it also function as a tension pulley?
There are three different ways to adjust/set tension on the EPIC Drive. First is the normal way using the slotted motor mount holes like other belt drive. Second way is using one of two non-slotted holes to set the position of the motor. Third way is to use a different size belt and place the idler in a different position. I'll make a separate video about this. Most people can just use the default config and not deal with tensioning.
How would you compare the Parsec to the newest Ares X3 Gear? I know the X3 is heavier but it is a street board that is pretty low to the ground and is much more agile than the all terrain boards out there. I also get roughly 30 miles of real world range with it riding around 25-30mph. I can see the lightweight of the Parsec being a huge advantage here if you need to pick up and hold the board with one hand often.
Are there any external difference between the S and X? Mulling on whether it's worth getting the X but I'd be kick/pushing often too, so maybe just getting the lighter board?
hey i commute on my e longboard (currently exway riot x1 max) in a place with a lot of rain so the roads are often damp or wet. How is the waterproofing on this board? and is there plans to offer mudguards as an accessory? these are features that i often find missing on commuter boards. (Also rain wheel compatibility but i don't think that will be an issue here)

Anyone buyin really should go for the X, only a little heavier, worth the upgrade.
Amazin belt drive design, for so many reasons. 👌🏽👏🏽
I like Epic DTS, Epic D is a little too on the nose lol.
As a truck geek, I'm lookin forward to hearin more aboit the trucks 🤙🏽
Carvin under 20mph is my kinda speed 👌🏽👌🏽
The future is Powerful!

I just love it.
110% agree!
At this point I'm really surprised why foldable electric boards haven't become more widespread. They're the most portable by far
once my meepo envy is done with this is looking like my next commuter!
the last challenge i have for the most dream e-board is finding one that can go up and down city curbs without anything but the wheels making contact, i currently go down about 4-5inch ones no problem and up 2-3 inch ones no problem but usually any bigger and i hear some scratching to the back motors/cage xD
I’ve not tried a gear drive that can use such small diameter wheels but coasting should be better than gear drive.
Ride height 85mm with 80mm wheels.
Will the profile be able to be adjusted digitally?
Not vesc but performance params can be adjusted from the remote.
Do you guys ship to Canada?
We do
come on! can't wait 😂
Hey @DanielKwan, how do I buy stock in parsec?
We were thinking it's normal for a board to get scuffed up but several people have asked for something similar. We'll consider it. :)
@@DanielKwan Another one of the reasons why I love my x1 max is LINE-X coating and bash guards. I often rides for commuting like you, but I still care about it.
I'm actually interested. What about the remote?
3:36 *laughs in Beavis and Butthead*
Are you planning a video talking about the remote?
The first batch will ship with a generic Hobbywing-like remote. We have a remote in development that I’ll make a separate video about when it’s ready to be announced. Current customers will receive it for free.
Hey, looks super cool, a lot of very good choices here,
only thing i would do for safety is use harder bushing or more beefy ones on the back :
this will give a more sensible feeling of safety and security, even on symetricals, 5 or 3 durometers difference between the front bushings (softer) and the back (harder) should be enough (90/90 front or 88/88, 93/93 rear ?) . Cheers !
Precision trucks for eskate is the thing that is missing the most in the market now, i like those specs, rakeless is enough for eskate, looks like a super good product from a quite advanced downhill skateboarder point of view
or 84/84 90/90, woks well on droped plateforms (for around 70kg)
or just advise people to tighten more the rear or get a pair of aftermarket bushings would in fact be enough
The rear is tightened more by one turn out of the box.
5 duro difference seems like a lot to me on symmetrical trucks. I don't like how a wheel lifts off the ground on a tight turn.
@@DanielKwan enough for your use case i guess, 5 duros split would be for a skilled rider to go around 70kph or more, maybe 3 would feel better even in that scénario
super nice to see you care about those details !
Most people can just use the default config and not deal with tensioning.
what esc and remote set up does it use?
An FOC ESC with a Hobbywing-like remote for now. Our own remote is in development and will ship to customers later.
No visual difference except for a label.
Will you be sending the board to other reviewers? I’d love to test this out.
Yes I will
How do you turn the speed limiter off
hey i commute on my e longboard (currently exway riot x1 max) in a place with a lot of rain so the roads are often damp or wet. How is the waterproofing on this board? and is there plans to offer mudguards as an accessory? these are features that i often find missing on commuter boards. (Also rain wheel compatibility but i don't think that will be an issue here)
It's water-resistant enough for splashes and more but we recommend against riding in wet conditions.
