Didn't seem to bad on ground, underwater was terrible. Generations is just insane, never knew it's 2d was that fast only played the game once or twice on someone else's console
The Sonic 2 and Mania versions were by far the best ones. You could go so fast in chemical plant in 2 you could actually outrun the camera, it was insane. The Mania version is just as good but i'm personally not a fan of the wacky workbench gimmick in act 2. I still preffer Sonic 2's chemical plant, but the boss fight in Mania is just legendary.
@@fusionwing4208 like with everything in mania, they made the mechanic work really well with the level design. I have no idea why sega hasn’t let them make a full fledged game with unique levels yet. It’s super frustrating seeing another 3D sonic game that doesn’t understand what makes sonic good while hearing absolutely nothing about a new mania game.

The irony here being that Mania's original levels were the highest point of the game and It was criticized for lacking more of them and using nostalgia as a cheap way to attract people to the game, lol.

It's a pity you can't do the same with Jungle Zone, as the zone is only in the Master System and Game Gear versions of Sonic 1. Jungle Zone has one of the catchiest tunes of in-game music I've ever listened to. It's possibly a favourite of mine beneath Metropolis Zone from Mega Drive Sonic 2 game.

I’m an 82 kid I played the first three sonics in my childhood including sonic and knuckles which would be considered the 4th. Chemical Plant Zone is one of my few favorite songs of any and/or all sonic track songs. But the second section in this video of that, is the one I know The most, and think is the best out of all of them. Nothing takes away from that rendition.

How did sonic get his boosting ability (without the game deciding it). He went from just building momentum and rolling on the ground to being able to rocket across the zone.
