      Notice you'll never hear either Bryan Johnson and David Sinclair mention each other or acknowledge what each of them is doing, their approaches, there's no team ups here - no conclusions drawn by me, but let's just say it's a note to myself, I'd like to see more of these guys getting TOGETHER rather than having free reign on a podcast to have ZERO contestation - you know what I'm saying, Jesse. I love what you do, but there needs to be more, Bryans team of scientests and David and his team in one room having a PURE civilised discussion on what they have leaned and how and theorising what steps to take next to move this information FORWARD and draw conslusive evidence - and we are the flies on the walls.

    Why does he think a vegan diet is healthier? Based on what?

    • @arosalesmusic
      @arosalesmusic 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +18

      He´s out of his mind. The Carnivore diet is the human species specific diet. We evolved over 4.5 million with that diet, homo sapiens and the immediate predecessors.

    • @LVArturs
      @LVArturs 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      He thinks that because of blue zones, because of the largest studies showing best results on plant or fish+plant, because the compounds he researches are mostly found in plants. Also personal genetics and experience.

    • @arosalesmusic
      @arosalesmusic 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

      @@LVArturs He uses inferential statistics to try and establish a causal relationship with diet and longevity. While inferential statistics are indispensable for analyzing data and making predictions, they come with significant limitations, particularly regarding causal inference. Establishing a cause and effect relationship typically requires rigorous study design and methodologies, such as randomized controlled trials, which can systematically eliminate confounding variables. Hence, while inferential statistics can point toward relationships and patterns, they alone do not provide definitive proof of causation without corroborating evidence from experimental designs or additional investigative techniques.

    Thank you Jesse for all varied guests you bring. I now always look forward to your questions, love it. I tried to listen to this guest and getting something from it. And yes, it's difficult to listen to him and justifications on optional veganism (what an insult for vegans who eats all really natural non processed) which am not, far from it. And the most "upsetting" part as he says himself it's the nmn chapter in which it clearly self explains itself : he really is the cause of all that has happened to this supplement loved by millions that is now under scrutiny for the wrong reasons. Making a medicine from an already existing supplement! Why.... Yes money and self love. I personally don't take it as I have another great European option. How can he be so vain on trying to credit to himself some supplement s popularity and even blaming other researchers for people like me not baring to listen to him anymore, and we try, shocking and sad. And even taking ownership of some, this is just weird. I really was giving him a chance to redeem himself and this is so disappointing and you, Jesse, are doing such a great job at helping to keep the good side of him we all admired for years till it all fell SO flat. I feel for him from what he was a scientist who was trying to bring knowledge he had learnt from others to someone who became focused on fame. It is not a easy interview to listen to. Of course, it's great for him that he n girlfriend are passionately in love and doing work together and everyone loves a good love story. But it's sad that his focus is on medicalizing supplementation so once again the masses have to pay bigger groups who are laughing at using him.

    I don't know why anyone would want to live longerthan 100 or 120 years. I've eaten a natural whole foods diet my whole life, fasted since the eighties, have fasted 18 - 20 hours a day for the past couple years and tend keto. I've also worked a manual labor job since I was 15 and I live within three miles of two wilderness areas. I'm 65 and most 30 year olds can't keep up with me while ski mountaineering and rock and ice climbing. I'm not interested in living longer, but am very interested in quality of life while I'm here. I'm ready for the next stage of the journey and really don't want to wait another 40 -60 years.

      He has credentials at large woke political universities which he justifiably protects by repeating the orthodox “woke” rhetoric where necessary. When you find his position incorrect, as in carnivore diet for example, remember where he metaphorically lives and the gods he must serve to stand there. So relax, Dave is an awesome researcher but don’t expect him to support Malcom Kendrick. No sense getting involved in everyone else’s fight. The goal of ending debilitating aging from inside academia, is a big enough goal.

      Get your Lipoprotein-a status checked. (That check can additionally be done when the doctor checks your blood) That's a genetic predisposition that I also have. It gives you the same risk of getting cardiovascular disease (clogging of arteries) as a smoker has, even if you live super healthy. It's important to keep LDL Cholesterol down and HDL Cholesterol up. You can also take statins, you probably already do. If you hadn't lived healthily, maybe the surgery would have been necessary in your 40's?
