    Seems like a great option! Increasing load capability is a good way to reduce injury risks. However non specific exercises can also help, not to mention sleep, diet, hydration, stress etc. I can get some elbow pain when I’m grinding cs, especially if I’m stressed at work too

      Great advice there 👍 👌 sleep, stress, diet and hydration play a huge role in this too.

    Wrist injury is absolutely not something to be taken lightly. It's easy to avoid, hard to get rid of. So take precautions while you're healty. Have tendonitis for 3 years (without even gaming) possibly due to bad shoulder positioning and using too much wrist. I somehow don't have any pain anymore even when I game all day but my wrist is very weak to the point I can't hold a phone comforably a few minutes. I have a hard time lifting objects with my right hand. And of course, I can't work out my upper body anymore. Not even the doctor I saw knew what to do with it. The worst part is that tendons are much harder to heal/strengthen compared to muscles so It will probably take months or a year to fix once I'll get a physiotherapist who knows his stuff.

      I know your frustration brother. I am having another go now, at rehabilitating a 13 year old injury. Don't give up looking for a good physio, they are out there but they can be hard to find. Good luck man, stay strong.

    Great and informative video to make gamers aware of some injuries/pain they could get over time if they don't pay too much attention. Interesting exercise and not only for gamers ! 👍

      Thanks Oli, I used to do this a long time ago when I was boxing, at that time it was in an attempt to protect my hands from the impact. Its a really good exercise if you give it a chance 😁

    Wouldn't some form of dough be better as it has physical resistance? I am confused as to why specifically rice.

    • @LogPile444
      @LogPile444  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I guess dough goes off over time? I suspect rice is more consistent, less maintenance etc
      Rice also has physical resistance, give it a try and you'll see 😁

    This could actually be an incredible exercise for me and with downhill mountain biking hobby - I have terrible hand pain issues after long sessions due to the excessive vibration that my hands endure in the tough terrain hand have already done all the optimizations on my bike that I could possibly do in order to minimize said vibrations, but this might just be able to help me build up those much-needed muscles well enough.
    Thank you so much for making this video, I will come back to you if I end up doing this!

    • @LogPile444
      @LogPile444  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Jakeu, I plan to follow up with some other exercises targeted at adding depth/padding to our hands, building strength in our wrists etc. I do think this rice bucket exercise would work well as part of a routine for you though. I need to do a few weeks/months of testing on myself first, but I'll fire another video out with some other exercises for this, that I hope will help you further - with a more balanced/targeted routine.
      Many of the exercises I plan to investigate are recommended in the comments section, from fellow gamers (awesome community), and others I have found on arm wrestling YT channels 🤣

  • @StruthGaming
    @StruthGaming 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Thoughts on training both arms at once to save time? Or do you alternate so each arm has some time to recover between sets?

    • @LogPile444
      @LogPile444  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey Struth, I guess it's possible, but I've never seen anyone do it. I'd be concerned about the angle I'd need to position my shoulders in to get both hands/arms into the same bucket, also when youre extending your fingers your hands take up a fair chunk of space
      The rest between sets is also a factor for sure

    Arm wrestlers use this training, also can be used with sand instead of rice

    • @LogPile444
      @LogPile444  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think I'd prefer rice over sand personally, as I suspect sand will get stuck to me during my sets, but rice is easy to manage in that sense

    Great video! There are so many gamers that are uneducated about wrist/arm/shoulder health. In the ARPG genre it's not uncommon that players blame their injuries on the game or the balance decisions of the devs because they make them click so much. This is absolutely absurd to me now but a few years ago I used to be one of them and I always got RSI from playing too much.
    When I got into fps games and aim training a couple years ago I started looking more into wrist health. I looked up posture guides, started doing hand streches and using a gyro ball. Since then I haven't had wrist problems anymore. Also learning how to aim smoothly, without unnecessary tension and switching to a light ergo mouse and low resistance mousepad may have helped too.
    I did not know about the rice bucket workout yet, it looks interesting. Thanks for sharing!

    I recently bought a gyro ball, also works out your forearms and wrists, what do you think about gyroscope balls as an exercise for gamers?

    • @LogPile444
      @LogPile444  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have one of those too! Great fun, good exercise too, I would say it's potentially less targeted at fingers, more so at wrist, would you agree?

    • @cosmo8771
      @cosmo8771 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@LogPile444 Oh thats true, it doesnt really work out your fingers, but I definitely feel it work my forearms and wrists, but again maybe i feel it in my forearms because i just have noodle arms 😭

    • @LogPile444
      @LogPile444  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @cosmo8771 I really enjoy my gyro ball, it gives a good deep burn if you use it well (noodle arms or not 😅), I got mine from steuth gamings store, it has a light that comes on when you get it going fast enough, and it makes my room look lile a disco 🤣
