  • #ridgidtools - New Ridgid Brushless 18V Chainsaw R01101 that runs off of your existing batteries! Why buy another battery platform when Ridgid has you covered from construction to Outdoor Power Equipment. Why look at a small Echo, Stihl or Husqvarna Chainsaw when a saw like this exists.
    It is super powerful when paired with the 8ah battery and even runs great on my old 4ah batteries. Another video coming soon!
    I have been a Ridgid Tool User and Owner for over 15 years and have had excellent service out of all of my equipment. What sold me then is what sells me now. Performance and value are both great. In reality most tools do very well in the performance arena. Where I have found Ridgid to be set apart is in their warranty. If you are not aware, they advertise a Lifetime Service Guarantee. That even includes....... drumroll...... the batteries!
    That is right. I have had hundreds of dollars of batteries replaced personally. If they had messed this up for me, I wouldn't be here today adding to my tool collection.

      The 18V saw works fairly well. I actually did a project today that would have been perfect for it but one of my other saws was a bit sharper so I ran the 2 stroke one instead. Kinda would have had better results with this one however.

    Battery electric tools have definitely improved leaps and bounds the last 15 years. That looks like a very capable saw that I would strongly consider if I were to add electric to my collection anytime in the near future! I also think a palm type trigger lock would be better.
    Thanks for sharing👍🏻

    I don't know that a pair of chaps will stall or stop it either. Just something to keep in mind when using the electric brushless saws. The Kevlar strands inside chaps are meant to bind up in the sprocket of a gas powered saw causing it to come to a stop. I think with the way the electric saws are evolving, they should make a pair of safety chaps for that use, if they haven't already.

      I appreciate you weighing in on this as this was once a question that I had myself because I had heard that as well. Thanks for caring about the safety of others and myself. @OutdoorsWithTheMorgans did a video on this that I think deserves some more views and I think you may find the results interesting! @@oakiewoodsman I do, I currently have 9 of their tools. When my older Milwaukee tools were getting on in years, I went to Home Depot and the price, performance, and offers of 'buy this tool and get a free battery' were too good to pass up. I've been eyeing the chainsaw and an 8.0 battery so this video was helpful. Already subscribed, thanks for responding and keep up the good work 👍

      @@PFPTHEGREATEST I appreciate it very much! Make sure you register to get your LSA. I have been a Ridgid 18v customer for about 16 years now and have been very happy overall. They have been good to me and have replaced LOTS of batteries. I just recently posted another video of this saw and Inhave another few video where I actually climbed a couple trees and lightly used the Ridgid up in the top. Thanks for the sub and for being here.

      You bet👍. Any chance you'd be able to tell me what you think of this saw running this 8.0 Amp battery vs a 4.0 Max? Would that be a significant downgrade in power?

    • @oakiewoodsman
      @oakiewoodsman  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m don’t currently own any 4.0 max outputs so I couldn’t directly tell ya. If you have those already, I would try em out first unless of course you are missing a spectacular deal on the saw and 8Ah battery as a package. Those 4ah max output batteries seem pretty stout and have the ability to discharge at a high rate and can keep power hungry tools running well.

    Those battery powered chainsaws are nice. I have a ego and love it - great for smaller diameter logs (I would say less than 10” or so). The larger stuff tends to kill the battery faster. I use mine for firewood - been cutting oak and recently some cherry. I can usually get about have a truck load before battery dies (30 or so minutes of use). Looking to add a gas powered chainsaw soon to compliment it.
    Did you ever figure out what was wrong with your 562xp?

      Thanks for watching and commenting! Your information is super helpful to me and others. As far as the 562xp goes, the dealer flashed it. Now I just need to get out and run it to see what it is doing. Hopefully it runs NICE! Will be putting put a video regardless of happens there.

    I'm waiting for Ridgid to come out with some more variety in the chainsaw department before I jump on the bandwagon... I really want the 12 incher tho 😅 I'd really like them to make a pruning saw instead of an automatic pruning shear

    • @oakiewoodsman
      @oakiewoodsman  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I Kinda wish this saw was more of a top handle version. I rear handled 12" bar works very well for construction and other tasks though. I have used the heck out of it. Thanks for watching and enjoy the weekend. FYI: This saw really does need the Max Output batteries. The only one I have is the 8ah. I am not sure if the performance would be totally stellar with the 4ah Max Output batteries.

    • @oakiewoodsman
      @oakiewoodsman  ปีที่แล้ว

      well, it is my dads but it is leaking fuel profusely. It doesn't get much used probably less than a gallon through the saw and it is probably close to 14 years old or so. I think it is leaking at the fuel line entrance to the tank. I am going to figure it out

      I have a couple friends who aren't good with gas engines. One is using an electric chainsaw now, and I see the other one doing the same. The electric ones are nice for certain jobs. I just don't have any personal experience with them. Once again, thanks for sharing!

    • @oakiewoodsman
      @oakiewoodsman  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@driftlesshunter9200 the repair should surely be easy I believe. As far as the cordless saws go, this one pleasantly surprised me. Operationally a bit different in behavior. Big advantage though to no warm up periord or idling between cuts. Certainly will be used lots around here. It will more than likely take the place of my little echo saw due to performance, ease and weight. My wife has already cut 3 trees down she wanted gone for some sunlight on some plants she was putting in the ground. No hesitation on her part at all. A real winner for certain applications. Thanks for watching!

    Torque and chainsaws don't go together you have to have a combination of speed and torque too much not good and too much speed not good

    • @oakiewoodsman
      @oakiewoodsman  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are referring to the "sweet spot" you are correct. For the extremely time conscious or enthusiast, you are 100% correct. To clean something up faster than with an axe or hand saw, a saw that leans towards torque is just fine. Kinda like an old vintage 2 stroke saw vs the modern day screamers. Appreciate the comment!
