I like all your videos, but these ones are really helpful because when you talk about like the FDA and all of that it really keeps me informed of the whole situation.
I think it’s wrong to ban NMN, I personally have no interest in using it. I use niacin intermittently. I don’t use it on a daily basis. I intermittently use it over the week. I use it at about a 330 mg dosage, and I make sure that I do take on a daily basis both liposomal B complex and C vitamins. I understand that some people can’t deal with the flushing, which is really a shame because I think the flushing, is correlated to the most beneficial aspects of the supplement of niacin. I am 63 years old and I am playing basketball on a daily basis with 19-year-olds at the YMCA, I do a steam sauna afterwards, and I do a cold plunge into the pool and swim for about 15 to 20 minutes after the steam. I also discovered the miracle health and aging benefits of topical castor oil, that I do apply daily all over my body.
You have a new subscriber in me. I decided to watch your channel because after watching Sinclair multiple times in interviews I started becoming a bit suspicious of his silver tongue. We must all be very careful with TH-cam. Unlike an honest journalistic interviewer, the host will never put the interviewees under scrutiny. This is dangerous since it becomes no different to 200 years ago when people successfully sold snake oil. I take NMN. I've reseached it and it looks promising. But something with Sinclairs evangelistic TH-cam interviews smell a bit funny.
Hi Marcel I think even if the Failing Drug Administration bans NMN then companies like DNA will bring MD’s on board and have them approve RX’s of NMN for their customers. Similar to online companies like Musely, Hers , etc . What it means for us customers is that we’ll have to pay extra for that “initial” script of NMN . That’s what I’m thinking …
What's the NPA? Perhaps explained in videos I missed, but a link and even a very brief description would helpful; if this is a group looking to collectively fight the corruption at FDA, I'd be happy to lend support.
You should do a video about why NMN is different from Niacin. You say that they're not the same thing and that anyone who thinks niacin boosts NMN the same is wrong but you don't back this up. Why are you right?
I have been taking NMN for many years now and it seems clinical human tests are coming out saying it doesn't raise NAD levels. Does it or doesn't it? You would think that taking a few tests of people taking it would confirm NMN raises NAD levels. Especially in older people who are supposed to have negligible NAD levels to begin with. And are the only people who test people for NAD levels the same people who sell NMN? Many years taking this supplement and solid NMN information still seems murky at best.
I would like to stick pile myself some more NMN but I find it hard enough to just buy each time what I need to keep going and just when I have saved up a little bit another bill or thing that takes my money I do agree with what you say about NMN and do experience all the health benefits it gives, so if they do ban it not much I can do
I agree that NMN should be available as a supplement, but I disagree with you regarding its efficacy. Taken orally, NMN is broken down by the digestive system into metabolites, and there are no trials showing it's any better than Niacin, Niacinamide, or Nicotinamide Riboside when taken orally. When taken intravenously, NR performs better as NMN doesn't have its own cellular transporter. (Yes, there was a study that identified what they thought was one, but they were wrong) So, ALL NMN must be broken down to at least NR (which does have its own cellular transporter) before your cells can actually use it. When stressed, genes are activated that produce and export NR so that stressed areas can uptake it. That's the molecule you really want in the bloodstream, and even Sinclair has talked about it as being an area that he's more excited about than NMN. At the end of the day, it's all smoke and mirrors and hype to extract $$$ as it's far easier to lower inflammation which lowers CD38 production which in turn raises NAD+ levels than to take Vitamin B3 variants to produce more NAD+ anyway.
NR has an equal track record to NMN. And neither will do anything for longevity. There are no demonstrated health effects positive or negative. NR failed the ITP trial. As a result, there would be no need to test NMN.
There is evidence from animal tests that NMN reduces frailty despite not increasing lifespan. If I can be a less frail 80 year old, I'll take that as a win, even if I don't live a day longer.
@@markplane4581 The problem is - compared to WHAT? There's only one disputed study that suggests there's a cellular transporter for NMN, and a mound of evidence that there isn't one... meaning NMN has to be broken down before cells can take it in, and the largest metabolite known to have a cellular transporter is NR, and that's proven to help stressed cells in a variety of studies, but it's best taken by IV. So, why take NMN instead of NR if NMN has to be broken down into NR to use it? Why take either orally if they're all broken down to NA, NAM, etc anyway?
@@Kingramze It could be merely placebo effect, but taking NMN was absolutely transformative for me. Within a week of starting I had energy and endurance unlike anything I'd experienced in years, plus my sleep dramatically improved (I'm 60, began taking it two years ago). I've stopped taking it a couple of times out of curiosity, and within days I felt the loss of energy. Thankfully, within a week of resuming, I get the gains back (note: I experienced zero noticable improvement from NR, I tried that as well. I may try NR in combination with NMN and see what happens). As they say, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting; as far as I'm concerned, NMN is quite delicious. Maybe it'll kill me tomorrow, but today, I'm way better off with it than without it.
@@markplane4581 No one is saying NMN doesn't do anything, just that it's no better than NR. But, everyone's microbiome and digestive tracts are different, so ymmv. I wouldn't say it's placebo effect, but if you're noticing an improvement with NMN, but not with NR, if the dosage is the same, then that difference between the two might be psychological. I will say this, though - NAD+ largely declines with age due to increase in inflammation. Supplements might top things off briefly, but the best approach would be to reduce inflammation through diet, exercise, and herbal supplements so that there's less CD38 expression, which is the primary cause of low NAD+ One molecule of CD38 uses up 100 NAD+ Molecules, so whatever you can do to reduce CD38 expression will give you a much more noticeable improvement in NAD+ levels than taking NMN or NR.
Niacin did not change aging clock speed at all, but slightly aged the clock a bit faster! NMN does slow clock some. Exercising individuals can take more than sedentary individuals. Sign too much NMN was taken, a person gets sleepy. Just quit taking for a day then start back at lower dose or exercise to take the higher dose. I used to take niacin to flush every day until I found out raising NAD+ is not the only key to slowing down clock. Niacin does raise NAD+, but is doing something else that is counteracting aging clock slowing down. I am open for changing my mind if data shows new results. For example vitamin K2 MK-7 failed in the study! Vitamin K2 MK-4 in megadose did work in many studies. They keep pushing MK-7 on people and it doesn't even work in reversing hardening of arteries. It still might help prevent though, but MK-4 showed good reversal. For years I told everyone MK-7, take MK-7 and I was wrong.
@ampaynz1 There is no supplement in existence that's proven to extend lifespan. All you can do is improve your life, so you've obviously bought into all the lies and marketing around NMN NIACIN is actually safer than NMM because of the decades of research done on it and in most cases proven more effective than MNM when tested outside of Sinclair's labs
Anyone that says that they can simply take Niacing in place of NMN is obviously undeducated or not being serious. That's like saying instead of taking penicllin to treat an infection, I will just eat some mushrooms.
Would you say the same thing for Geranylgeraniol over CoQ10? GG is upstream, but due to absorption issues substantially outperforms erogenous CoQ10. Niacin is upstream but may have issues. NR is documented to work, as is a Keto diet.
See my response and links provided in the comments. It’s ok to have opinions. But educate yourself. Science and peer reviewed studies say otherwise. NMN is NOT the only option. Niacin is in fact..a VERY viable option. I actually rotate between both niacin and nmn. Simply google: PubMed “Niacin Cures Systemic NAD+ Deficiency”. It’s one of the many studies showing the effectiveness of niacin.
Niacin does raise NAD+ in muscles a lot and around organs, but not much in organs. It didn't slow epigenetic aging clock but sped it up quite a bit. The flush causes a massive release of poisons from fat cells and maybe this is why? I knew an older lady who flushed every day until she just died. I told her to take less as she was taking 2 grams daily niacin. She ignored me. NMN also is more complete molecule so less work for the body to finish building it. see the study on niacin aging him faster th-cam.com/video/SwggBuuamCk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=A00TIFYImifKQckq

I priced Tru Niagen, and at $48 a month for only 300mg daily, it isn't anywhere near affordable for me. I get my NMN in powder form for $10 a month for 500mg daily. For me, that would be my minimum effective dose.
