My ranking for show couples: Polin: the book made me obsessed enough and the show just adds to it. Kathany: everything has been said about them. Albion finch and phillipa featherington: they are so freaking adorable. They are attached to the hip, are always happy to be near each other, and it is refreshing to see the guy be just as naive about sex as the girl is. Wish they did that with Colin. I also love how finch is the biggest Penelope supporter in the Featherington family.
Eloise accidentally outing Colin and Penelope’s arrangement is probably why Pen didn’t tell Eloise she was Lady Whistledown in the first place. She is so sloppy and cannot keep her mouth shut for the life of her. If she had told her her secret, she would’ve probably accidentally blurted it out where someone would overhear. It’s also probably why she didn’t tell Eloise about her feelings for Colin either. Like Cressida said, she’s indiscreet.
She does blurt out stuff esp when she gets emotional, which is normal, but that's good enough a justification to not tell her. The truth is, Penelope doesn't owe anyone telling them that she's Lady Whistleballs

I think she would have told her, but Eloise kept changing her mind on if she liked Whistledown or not. She also, was trying to uncover who she was for the queen, she simply couldn't be trusted to keep the secret 😩.
In season 1 Francesca was away at school for the majority of the episodes. In season 2 she was there in some of the family scenes, but was hidden by the other family members.
It literally bowls my blood how good this season is. And how much better each season gets. But the part with the featherington sister not understanding how a baby is made cracks me up 😂

Arguably, it wasn't even a "bad moment". Pen and the viewers heard only part of a conversation. For all she knows and we know, the next sentence was : because she is my dearest friend. Which is fair, and not at all bad. You can't blame someone for not sharing the same feelings. Especially since he probably never allowed himself to think about her that way because of their relationship, and her's with Eloise. Colin, and Benedict are my two favorites of the Bridgerton, actually. Because Benedict is an artist, funny etc. And Colin is a sentimental, always thinking of others. Yes he didn't see how Pen felt about him, but he was always protective of her and wanting to make her feel better. He is a good person. I never understood people who want Colin to suffer and beg for her. Because he did nothing wrong. The fact that he didn't see how she felt is as much her fault as it is his. Even more. She could have told him. She didn't. You can't blame him for not assuming his friends love him. A lot of people IRL are the last persons to notice. I know I've been that person...

Honestly I was squealing through out with excitement, it’s so refreshing finally seeing Pen in the spotlight. The part with miss featherington exclaiming she had no luck was hilarious, I was cackling. I do have to say though, it does feel like there’s constantly something with part 1, the pacing is a lot faster so far and I’m intrigued how that’ll fair for part 2…
Heeey! I was waiting for your reaction so much and I totally loved it! Polin is one of my favorite couples in the books, and without spoiling the other two eps, they did honor the essence of the book beautifully, and even kept some lines word for word, for example on the first kiss scene, which actually made me very emotional :') So, I will give you some insides just so you know for the rest of the episodes: Francesca's character, the sister that comes after Eloise and before Gregory, did appeared in the previous two seasons (only in a couple of eps and for short family scenes only) but played by a different actress, Ruby Stokes, she unfortunately could not continue in the show because she had other projects in store, which is also one of the main reasons why she wasn't around much before, so they recasted Francesca with Hannah Dodd, so they could start to develop her character more since she eventually will lead her own season as well; Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne, is not returning this season sadly but she has made clear that if they need her back in the future she will gladly come back, so it's for sure not gonna be a Regé situation again with Simon; Charithra Chandran, who plays Edwina, is not coming back neither but it seems that in her case we are not getting her back in the future at all since based in the queen's dialogue on S3 ep 2, her story is closed with her having found her match abroad; and finally, Kate and Anthony are not just in the season for 1 ep so we can expect them to come back at some point later 😉
You know, when the trailers dropped and during season 2, I was really harsh with Eloise. I still stand by some of my opinions, but season 3 really helped her evolve. I like how protective she is of Pen even though she still needs space to think about it. I also like how she is trying to protect Colin considering what she knows. While she did blurt it out to Cressida, she did not do that with Colin. I love how she does not want Penelope to suffer which shows she does not think Pen is a bad person who deserves that. She respects Colin and Pen’s friendship even though she needs space. So for once, she is acting selflessly. But she is allowed to make mistakes too. I feel she knows it is between him and Pen this time. But this season shows she is a good person and flawed like every human being in the world. I also feel she is trying to be open minded to the other women of the ton considering how she started. I do feel like her scenes with Cressida and Will and Alice’s story should have ended here. Give us more Bendetict and Polin.

But there's something magical about gradual release. If the show is good/fans love it having it like this bring bigger hype and can attract even more people. 2:14 I get where you're coming from bc he hasn't been my favorite bridgerton sibling as well. But i disagree on that he has been a dick. The only time he was, was last episode of season 2, when he said he would never court penelope, etc. Other than that he was actually pretty kind and generous, he helped the mondrich's, he helped the featherington's and protected the sisters against his uncle, he was always kind to penelope, he was willing to marry marina to save her reputation and take care of her and the baby if she told him. Overall he was pretty selfless

Yes, don't read the books before watching... I did this mistake and it was weird. I'm not one of those people who say "ewww it's not the saaaaame", but some parts were the same and some were not... So I was confused. NOT MAD AT ALL, but confused as if my brain was trying to remember and I couldn't focus because of it LOL
I love Benedict's story the most. I won't spoil anything, but there's a HUGE fanclub of a specific 90s movie that will lose their minds when his story plays out. If they follow the book, it's basically a remake. I can't friggin wait.
To be fair, Francesca is barely in the first two seasons. Also, she's played by Hannah Dodds (agree, she's very pretty) this season but she was originally played by Ruby Stokes (who is also very pretty btw)! She left the show due to scheduling conflicts with another series, Lockwood & Co, which is a great show that you should check out!
The only real complaint I have this season is how they portray Colin. In the books, he didn't write about women. He wrote about the scenery of Greece and other places that he had gone. That's another reason Penelope fell in love with him; the way he wrote was so beautiful and it made her feel like she was there. It was something they bonded over later on. So...they sort of made him a lot more shallow than he actually is. Which is a travesty.
The character Francesca from the last two seasons, was played by a different character. The recasted the character with a different actress. That’s why you do not remember her, because Francesca was played by a different person. So in season one and two it was played by the same person, but by season three the change the actress. I don’t know why the original actors who played Francesco left, but this is a whole entire different actress that’s playing the role.
From the moment I heard that they were going to turn Colin into a rake I knew that they ruined him. And ruined the entire story for me. They should’ve just copied and paste the fanfic because they did it better. The previous show runner said that Colin was the sensitive one because he was raised amongst his sisters 👯♀️ playing dolls 🎀and the age gap between him and his two older brothers. Makes him less likely to be a womanizer like his older brothers. so in season 1 and 2 they were setting Colin up to be a romantic demisexual. Hence why he wouldn’t kiss Marina. Because Penelope and Colin are sentimental writers who document every monumental event in their life’s. We as the romantic fan base were expecting The friends to lover❤️Trope. To be more intimate. A story where Colin and Penelope have their first awakening together. I was hoping that the show would give me an improved version of Odysseus. as Colin. I didn’t like Greek myth Odysseus. I didn’t think he deserved Penelope. I wanted virgin demisexual Colins so bad and I was so pissed when I heard that we weren’t getting him for the TV show. I thought he would be our first demisexual representation, but NO we got another rake. (very original). It’s not like we got that with the past two Male leads, and we’re also getting that with the future male leads. So I guess they just intend to keep telling the same story over and over. The new showrunner (Jess) had all the groundwork to tell a different kind of intimate. Sexual story. With different characters that are different people and it being just as compelling as the sexually liberated and experienced male leads. I had no problem with him being a Showboat, who is charming with a false public image. Him being a virgin erotic writer. Would show that Colin has dichotomy and layers to him like Penelope who is whistledown and people think she’s more mature or older than she is. I specifically only wanted him to be a whore for Penelope. Only Rabbid for Penelope. I wanted her to be his first kiss and first time, especially since we were getting a secondhand proposal. now she gets no first and everything is secondhanded and a hand me down. I guess the new show writer ✍🏻 is sticking with the season 1 and 2 formula thinking that this type of man increases sex appeal but NO! All it did was gross 🤮 me out. The TV 📺 version of Colin. Especially since I know how good it could have been. The story that actually Polin Stan’s write ✍🏻 did a far superior job.

I've watched the first 3 episodes (for some reason I thought we were getting five episodes in this first half) and I felt like the writers rushed the hurt/betrayal/tension we expected between Penn and Colin because of this split seaon drop. I expected there to at least be one full episode where Penn angrily avoided Colin, then he would offer to help her with Eloise or whatever else was bothing her, and then Colin would "My Fair Lady" Penn where they spend extra time together and learn new facets about each other now that they've entered a new dynamic. Idk I'm feeling a bit whelmed by the story. Also is anyone else feeling underwhelmed by the music choices? And they had a different actress playing Francesca the previous seasons, I don't particularly care for this new Francesca she's pretty but about as interesting as watching paint dry.
I don't feel that it's rushed I don't feel that they Rush the season because we've already had two seasons of Colin and Penelope talking to each other being with each other at balls being friends. So having them as friends to lovers is fine with me and showing the progression of Colin finally realizing with that kiss that he likes her. I don't need the slow burn like in season 2 of Penelope going after Colin. You've already seen the friend dynamic between Colin and Penelope. So what I want is Colin figuring out his feelings and then acting on it within part 1.
I’m so sorry. I am not a fan of Kate and Anthony because they’re are so toxic to me and my sister can’t stand them either because as sisters it was just a sense of betrayal and how we would never do that to each other. So when they were in this season my sister and I were like “leave! This isn’t about you too! You had a season!” Aside front that I loved Penelope and Collin so much and I love how no one likes to be honest with their feelings and urk myself.

Heeey! I was waiting for your reaction so much and I totally loved it! Polin is one of my favorite couples in the books, and without spoiling the other two eps, they did honor the essence of the book beautifully, and even kept some lines word for word, for example on the first kiss scene, which actually made me very emotional :')
So, I will give you some insides just so you know for the rest of the episodes: Francesca's character, the sister that comes after Eloise and before Gregory, did appeared in the previous two seasons (only in a couple of eps and for short family scenes only) but played by a different actress, Ruby Stokes, she unfortunately could not continue in the show because she had other projects in store, which is also one of the main reasons why she wasn't around much before, so they recasted Francesca with Hannah Dodd, so they could start to develop her character more since she eventually will lead her own season as well; Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne, is not returning this season sadly but she has made clear that if they need her back in the future she will gladly come back, so it's for sure not gonna be a Regé situation again with Simon; Charithra Chandran, who plays Edwina, is not coming back neither but it seems that in her case we are not getting her back in the future at all since based in the queen's dialogue on S3 ep 2, her story is closed with her having found her match abroad; and finally, Kate and Anthony are not just in the season for 1 ep so we can expect them to come back at some point later 😉
You know, when the trailers dropped and during season 2, I was really harsh with Eloise.
I still stand by some of my opinions, but season 3 really helped her evolve.
I like how protective she is of Pen even though she still needs space to think about it. I also like how she is trying to protect Colin considering what she knows. While she did blurt it out to Cressida, she did not do that with Colin.
I love how she does not want Penelope to suffer which shows she does not think Pen is a bad person who deserves that. She respects Colin and Pen’s friendship even though she needs space. So for once, she is acting selflessly. But she is allowed to make mistakes too.
I feel she knows it is between him and Pen this time.
But this season shows she is a good person and flawed like every human being in the world. I also feel she is trying to be open minded to the other women of the ton considering how she started.
I do feel like her scenes with Cressida and Will and Alice’s story should have ended here. Give us more Bendetict and Polin.

But there's something magical about gradual release. If the show is good/fans love it having it like this bring bigger hype and can attract even more people. We have time for discussion and theory's and be more focused on stuff. I know not everyone digest media the same way and even tho I love to binge stuff and watch it all in one, that way stuff gets mixed and I don't pay enough attention to some stuff ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2:14 I get where you're coming from bc he hasn't been my favorite bridgerton sibling as well. But i disagree on that he has been a dick. The only time he was, was last episode of season 2, when he said he would never court penelope, etc. Other than that he was actually pretty kind and generous, he helped the mondrich's, he helped the featherington's and protected the sisters against his uncle, he was always kind to penelope, he was willing to marry marina to save her reputation and take care of her and the baby if she told him. Overall he was pretty selfless

I hope they can strike a balance from the "Rom-Com"-driven first half to whatever the 2nd half will bring. Last year was very compelling and complex. I wonder if this season will have more gravitas and pathos, to make the love-match story even more special?

I love Benedict's story the most. I won't spoil anything, but there's a HUGE fanclub of a specific 90s movie that will lose their minds when his story plays out. If they follow the book, it's basically a remake. I can't friggin wait.

To be fair, Francesca is barely in the first two seasons. Also, she's played by Hannah Dodds (agree, she's very pretty) this season but she was originally played by Ruby Stokes (who is also very pretty btw)! She left the show due to scheduling conflicts with another series, Lockwood & Co, which is a great show that you should check out!

The only real complaint I have this season is how they portray Colin. In the books, he didn't write about women. He wrote about the scenery of Greece and other places that he had gone. That's another reason Penelope fell in love with him; the way he wrote was so beautiful and it made her feel like she was there. It was something they bonded over later on. So...they sort of made him a lot more shallow than he actually is. Which is a travesty.

The character Francesca from the last two seasons, was played by a different character. The recasted the character with a different actress. That’s why you do not remember her, because Francesca was played by a different person. So in season one and two it was played by the same person, but by season three the change the actress. I don’t know why the original actors who played Francesco left, but this is a whole entire different actress that’s playing the role.

From the moment I heard that they were going to turn Colin into a rake I knew that they ruined him. And ruined the entire story for me. They should’ve just copied and paste the fanfic because they did it better.
The previous show runner said that Colin was the sensitive one because he was raised amongst his sisters 👯♀️ playing dolls 🎀and the age gap between him and his two older brothers. Makes him less likely to be a womanizer like his older brothers. so in season 1 and 2 they were setting Colin up to be a romantic demisexual. Hence why he wouldn’t kiss Marina.

We as the romantic fan base were expecting The friends to lover❤️Trope. To be more intimate. A story where Colin and Penelope have their first awakening together. I was hoping that the show would give me an improved version of Odysseus. as Colin. I didn’t like Greek myth Odysseus. I didn’t think he deserved Penelope.
I wanted virgin demisexual Colins so bad and I was so pissed when I heard that we weren’t getting him for the TV show.
I thought he would be our first demisexual representation, but NO we got another rake. (very original). It’s not like we got that with the past two Male leads, and we’re also getting that with the future male leads.
So I guess they just intend to keep telling the same story over and over.
The new showrunner (Jess) had all the groundwork to tell a different kind of intimate. Sexual story. With different characters that are different people and it being just as compelling as the sexually liberated and experienced male leads.
I had no problem with him being a Showboat, who is charming with a false public image. Him being a virgin erotic writer. Would show that Colin has dichotomy and layers to him like Penelope who is whistledown and people think she’s more mature or older than she is.
I specifically only wanted him to be a whore for Penelope. Only Rabbid for Penelope. I wanted her to be his first kiss and first time, especially since we were getting a secondhand proposal. now she gets no first and everything is secondhanded and a hand me down.
I guess the new show writer ✍🏻 is sticking with the season 1 and 2 formula thinking that this type of man increases sex appeal but NO! All it did was gross 🤮 me out. The TV 📺 version of Colin. Especially since I know how good it could have been. The story that actually Polin Stan’s write ✍🏻 did a far superior job.
The reason why you can’t really recognize Francesca is because she was recasted due to the older actress going on to another show and also because she had very little scenes in the first 2 seasons

I've watched the first 3 episodes (for some reason I thought we were getting five episodes in this first half) and I felt like the writers rushed the hurt/betrayal/tension we expected between Penn and Colin because of this split seaon drop. I expected there to at least be one full episode where Penn angrily avoided Colin, then he would offer to help her with Eloise or whatever else was bothing her, and then Colin would "My Fair Lady" Penn where they spend extra time together and learn new facets about each other now that they've entered a new dynamic. Idk I'm feeling a bit whelmed by the story.
Also is anyone else feeling underwhelmed by the music choices? And they had a different actress playing Francesca the previous seasons, I don't particularly care for this new Francesca she's pretty but about as interesting as watching paint dry.
I don't feel that it's rushed I don't feel that they Rush the season because we've already had two seasons of Colin and Penelope talking to each other being with each other at balls being friends.
So having them as friends to lovers is fine with me and showing the progression of Colin finally realizing with that kiss that he likes her. I don't need the slow burn like in season 2 of Penelope going after Colin. You've already seen the friend dynamic between Colin and Penelope. So what I want is Colin figuring out his feelings and then acting on it within part 1.

I’m so sorry. I am not a fan of Kate and Anthony because they’re are so toxic to me and my sister can’t stand them either because as sisters it was just a sense of betrayal and how we would never do that to each other. So when they were in this season my sister and I were like “leave! This isn’t about you too! You had a season!” Aside front that I loved Penelope and Collin so much and I love how no one likes to be honest with their feelings and urk myself.
