@@MonicaCatapusan is that George the prince regent aka future George the fourth or one of her other sons? I get the 13 surviving children out of 15 mixed up. All I know is that Georget he fourth and his wife Caroline of Brunswick got on so badly that he didn't even invite her to his coronation.
So the woman that died in the beginning is princess Charlotte of Wales, George the 4ths daughter. She died when she was 21 in childbirth. She was the only legitimate heir at the time until queen Victoria was born.

The woman who died was actually Queen Charlotte’s granddaughter. She was the daughter of George IV, Charlotte and George’s eldest son. That was George IV who was crying over his daughter’s casket.
Yes. As the only legitimate child of her father, she was the heir of an heir, and because none of her uncles had legitimite children of their own, she was basically the only hope for the future of the monarchy. She was also much more popular than her father who was adulterer, overspender and arrogant guy. Charlotte was beloved by the people, that is why her death hit so hard.
Instead, her death led to the birth of her cousin Victoria, who became the Queen instead.
Princess Charlotte, who died in childbirth was Queen Charlotte's granddaughter by blood. Her eldest son's daughter and the only child he had by his wife Princess Caroline, whom the eldest son loathed so much that after they had their daughter, they effectively separated and lived separate lives. Because otherwise Caroline and George couldn't be in the same house as one another without arguing rather violently.
the episode where we saw events in George’s pov hurt so bad 😭 it was a great twist that he was in love too but wanted to protect her from him
I've watched the whole season at once, I couldn't stop. India and Corey made an amazing job, their chemistry was cheff kiss! ♥️ they became my second favorites from the Bridgerton universe for sure.

I love the slow burn of this couple especially after we find out a few episodes later.
It made sense and I liked how it came from communicating and being honest with each other.
Honestly, I have been yearning for an arranged marriage storyline where they meet and gradually fall in love and now I finally got it.
Poor Lady Danbury. She deserves better.
I watched all episodes and he was suffering anxiety and nervous breakdowns, sad he tried to hide it from her trying to heal himself with cruel doctors. Making it worse. But he did love Charlotte from day 1.
The eldest of Queen Charlotte and George III’s children was their son who was also called George (later George IV). The woman who died at the beginning was Princess Charlotte, who was the daughter of the future George IV and the granddaughter of Queen Charlotte and George III.
The lady at the beginning who died WAS our George’s granddaughter she was the only child of their oldest son and was in lined up to eventually rule after George her grandfather and then George her father, sadly she died in childbirth in actual history as well as here in Bridgerton which sets off this huge succession crisis as she was the ONLY legitimate heir at the time. So the man crying over her a lot is her dad, not husband

I've already watched all the episodes, and I can tell you that for me, the balance is positive. I loved it.
I have watched all six, I actually expected it to be sad based on what we saw in Bridgerton season 2. I actually now kind of wish it had gotten eight episodes versus six, there are some stories that deserve it. Like where it ends in the past story you want to hear more of Agatha's tale (and really you begin to call her that as this season goes on even in the current story, which I think the only real story point it that why she is more or less a part of the Bridgerton clan going forward because, spoiler, Violet probably wishes she could have been her stepmother to her actual mother and she more or less becomes that going forward) And this ends where Charlotte is just starting to become who she is now. But be warned, you need tissues for the kind of epilogue of this for two stories.

fun fact: there are many theories and historians that believe that the actual Queen Charlotte was descended from Black People, (this theory has been circulating for years, even before Bridgerton aired) I kind of believe it if you look at some of the paintings of her (sometimes they would downplay features in portraits that were deemed "undesirable" just like they do in the show) but ig we'll never know

the person who dies is Charlotte and George's granddaughter, not their daughter-in-law. She was the child of their firstborn son George the 4th. That's why almost every time we see George the 4th in the show he is crying because his daughter and grandchild died.

@@MonicaCatapusan Yes, Golda the actress who plays Queen Charlotte does look young to have an adult granddaughter. In really life, Queen Charlotte was about 73 when her granddaughter Princess Charlotte died. And I think Golda is about 52. So the actress is 20years younger than the character she is playing (and she looks young for her ages as well).
Thats why there was a succession crisis when the only legitimate grandchild and heir (Princes Charlotte of Wales) died because Queen Charlotte's daughters were (mostly) passed child bearing age at this time or had trouble conceiving, and similarly her older sons who had wives were also passed child bearing age.
So there was huge pressure on the younger sons to marry and conceive an heir to secure the line of succession.
Luckily for them it all worked out. Their 4th son Edward married Princess Victoria in early 1818 (Queen Charlotte died in November 1818) and they had a daughter in 1819 who would become Queen Victoria. And then Princes Edward died about 1 year later, in 1820, before King George III later that year. So Edward never knew is daughter. Victoria was kept very sheltered and protected growing up at Kensington Palace as she was still the only heir so the line of succession was still so fragile.
It must have both been devastating for Queen Charlotte to loose her only grandchild in 1817 (when the Queen was 73 and near the end of her life as she died in 1818)- and in childbirth along with your great grandchild!- but for this then to result in a succession crisis so late in life when you thought you could somewhat rest easy in your old age that your job was done in securing the line of succession.
No wonder the Queen pushed her family so hard to secure the line in her last year so "all was not lost"

Yes. I agree on both counts. Princess Charlotte who died at the start was the granddaughter of King George III and Queen Charlotte but she was not The Princess Royal.
This title is usually bestowed to the monarch's eldest daughter. The Princes Royal of this time period was Queen Charlotte's and King Geroge III's eldest daughter also called Charlotte, Princess Royal and Queen of Wurttemburg. She appears in this spin off as the daughter who stick up to her mum and states that she is married and calling Queen Charlotte a bad mum and cruel as she and her siblings were trying to do as her mum asked and produce an heir but she kept misscarrying.
I believe at this time, George IV had taken over the role of monarch from his father, George III, since his father was deteriorating to the point that he could no longer do his duties. In that sense, George IV's daughter would be the Princess Royal.
Also the reason why when his brothers were being forced to marry, they dragged him into the conversation to overthrow their mother's decision.
@@fleur_and_flower Yes George the Prince of Wales (who later became George VI after his fsther's death once he was King) was acting as regent at this time. So he had taken over the King's duties aa his father was no longer able to due to his health. But this doesn't affect the title of Princess Royal; it lasts a life time of the one who receive's the title. So can only be pased on when the current Princess Royal dies and the Monarch chooses who to give it to.
So, at this time, the Princess Royal is still Queen Charlotte and King George's III eldest daughter Charlotte, Queen of Wurttenburg.
Also, interestingly to note, this title isn't automatically passed on. The Monarch has to choose when to award this title and who to award it to (usually their eldest daughter if they have one).
The title has been left vacant for a while in the past. For example, in 1965 Mary the Princess Royal died. She was the eldest daughter of George V and the aunt of Queen Elizabeth II. As the title lasts a life time she was still the Princess Royal until her death despite Queen Elizabeth II having a daughter, Princess Anne.
Queen Elizabeth II only award Princess Anne the title of Princess Royal in 1987, so the title was left empty for over a decade!
So there isn't always a Princess Royal.
The Queen's children got married in their 40s and 50s if not at all... no wonder they could not make a royal babies

The reason she's not able to wear her dress is because they are not joining families, Charlotte is joining Charles' family.
For hand insert shots like that at the wedding, it's usually because those are pick-ups done later and it isn't worth bringing the actors back in. But also, they may just have some ugly hands lol
