Fossil Ammonite Hunting Luck At Lyme Regis!

I go on a long fossil walk to the West of Lyme Regis, in conjunction with safe tide times. The best fossils are found at low tide .I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide. Sometimes fossil hunting turns out to be treasure hunting, it’s fun just to see the “ treasures” on the large rocks. The Jurassic Coast really does have some stunning fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. Love the Lyme Bay agate Brandon it’s a beautiful colour ,that’s on my list to find maybe next time I’m in town .I’ve been out today and found a nice Silurian trilobite different site so no sieving today .Good video as always ❤

I have a fossil collecting film made called “ Ammonite Lyme Regis.” That shows you how I go about looking for small fossils at low tide . The cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning, so I stay away from the cliffs and go collecting in conjunction with safe tide times. So I head out collecting at low tide when there is more of the beach available to look at ! In iron pyrite at low tide you can find small whole ammonites free of matrix .

Yes 🙌 we got her a statue along the sea front now . Mary Anning the famous fossil lady of Lyme Regis was a great fossil hunter .
