    Never been to Lyme Regis. Been to Charmouth a few times, really enjoy it there. Maybe one day I'll drive the extra few miles down the road! Again never been to seatown which is before Charmouth lol. Nice video anyways. Fossil hunting is a great adventure 👍

    I personally like magnet fishing and scavenging, and I would probably be able to make some cool things with the ‘rubbish’!

      Thanks for the sub , that beach was loaded with metal from the collapsed rubbish dump , you would definitely be able to make some cool things from all that variety of material

    I have a piece similar to the one you found with the wood, they probably washed up against that wood and then got covered, a great freeze-frame of the sea bed millions of years ago.

    That's my local beach and I hope you kept the piece of wood-stone because that's what we local fossil hunters treasure above the pyrite ammonites, of which I have hundreds (sorry) but the thrill of finding one never diminishes.

    • @Treasurehunter11001
      @Treasurehunter11001  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Shirley Swaine I didn’t realise until recently that wood-stone was a thing there that’s two references to it in the past couple of days, I was watching Dan from fossil academy prepping a large piece on one of his videos. I still have it and will definitely be looking for more when I am next there. I know those little pyrite ammonites are common there but was the first time I ever found any so was really cool for me I am a kid at heart lol.

      @@Treasurehunter11001 I think all of us who fossil hunt are kids at heart (and in my mind, there's nothing wrong in that) for as I said, though I may have hundreds of the pyrite ammonites, it is STILL a thrill every time I find one, so I really do understood your joy at finding your first ones, I was just frustrated at your seeming disappointment/lack of enthusiasm at finding the wood stone and I was (in my head :D ) shouting at the screen "No" That's your real treasure!" lol. Enjoy and happy hunting.

    some very nice finds well done :0) off to folkestone at the weekend with my son and you can find pyrited ammonites there, it might be me but it seems just the smaller ones get pyrited but the bigger ones don't :0) anyway great finds, liked and subbed too

      Thanks for watching and subbing Robert , hope you and your son find some cool stuff at Folkestone , will hopefully be making some more Yorkshire fossil hunting videos soon . You may be right about the smaller ammonites being pyritised .

      @@Treasurehunter11001 your more than welcome :0) i love fossils so does my son, i have lots of shark teeth, lots of ammonites and an ice age horse tooth as well :0) at folkestone we also collect gypsum too so we are hoping for some nice bits :0) looking forward to the new vids :0) it would be nice to find a big pyritised ammonite but as i say it only seems to be the small ones :0) good luck on your fossil adventures :0)
