They need to make it more like Widens original premise. Focus on the curse of immortality. Make the audience view the characters as vulnerable souls, even the Kurgan should have the audience being empathetic towards the antagonist. Less ‘John Wick with swords’ and more of a slow tragic burner of a film that really hammers home the burden of immortality. Also The Mongol is an immortal from the beginning of the Highlander novel. Could Fassbender be assuming that role?
Maybe Fassbender is playing Iman Fasil, only this time we might get a bit more dialogue and possibly a flashback before his duel with MacLeod. And yes the fight MUST take place in a parking garage.
Steven Weintraub from Collider confirmed that the rumor isn't true. However the casting must be done by now given there will be a training process before cameras roll in July. So maybe by next month(s?) we will be having an update
Can we have some Methos in this film? Even if it's just a cameo? I wonder what it would take to convince Dr. Wingfield to put down his stethoscope and dust off his broadsword. Sadly, probably not. I think he's gone full Darius on us.
With his Zorro sword training (and awesome acting ability) Antonio Banderas has always been a no-brainer. He's a much older man now, but I'd still love to see him play Ramirez or some other Highlander immortal.
If fassbender is in this ... he is either playing The Kurgan or James Horton, the evil leader of the watchers. Fassbender is known to play bad guys or anti-hero type characters so if he's in this - he's likley a bad guy character. but good casting if he's in it. Henry Needs a good supporting cast to play off of now.
Fassbender will be tge villain for 1st film, the kurgan will be built upon in this movie they say that they want a trilogy so the kurgan will be the endgame not the first villain
Fassebender is a fantastic actor and would be a great addition to the franchise in any capacity.

I’m a big Highlander fan so I can’t wait for the reboot
the kurgan could be the villain across a trilogy not jus one movie, so maybe is another villain , would like him as methos.
I kind of want Henry Cavil to play the villain. He’s so big vs a very skinny Fassebender.
fingers crossed for a good reboot
I would like him as a version of the knight from the script

My theory is he's playing Connor and Henry is playing the Kurgan. And I'm ok with that.
My guess is Fassbender will play Cavill's mentor.
The Kirgan
It could be the case of throwing names at the wall and seeing which ones stick. me I want Antonio Banderas to play Ramirez.
As Puss in Boots 😂

Banderas is a good fit but how on earth can anyone hope to match Sean Connery’s charisma?
