    Ezra, over the time that we've been watching you, you've inspired a good few of us to fix or build our trucks. Thanks to you, I started looking for a "project" last year, nothing to be in a hurry about but a truck I could build with my 4 sons. We have our working trucks but I wanted to build a truck for me, a truck I can roll for the next 8 or 10 yrs until I retire.
    We have found a real nice 2005 freightliner classic, short hood midroof, 275wb and an automatic. We are currently in the process of looking at a few engine options and I'm really leaning towards the C18, we found a ton of them out in Oklahoma, low hrs, used to run water pumps. An 18 speed and a complete interior makeover and a nice paint job will round it out beside the usual inspect, replace and rebuild of anything that needs to be. It's going to be a 2 yr build because I am on the road but you inspired me to film the build and post it on my tiny channel when we get going. Thanks buddy, for the content and the wake up call that we aren't getting any younger and it's time to build, not buy something awesome. Stay safe brother.

    It always amazes me that someone like you is willing to post a video sharing their knowledge/experience and then have some d-bags criticizing every video; I just don’t get it. Anyway, I greatly appreciate your videos. I gain quite a bit of confidence in tackling problems that I had absolutely zero knowledge of and would have to take to some rip off shops. It may take me a month from Sunday to get it done, but I know once it’s done it will be done right…and I won’t have to pay shop supply fees.

    You are quite correct, breaker bar, then add a torque multiplier and then a gas axe. That is just the natural order of things. Keep it up.

    Hey EZ, Thanks for the video! I love the new mud flaps. Even though the bushings were shot, those torsion bars didn’t look bad. But I guess it’s like a lot of other worn parts, it’s easier and cheaper to replace the whole assembly.

    That impact is twice as expensive and half as strong as the one Bauer makes from harbor freight . We liked the 1/2 inch drive one so much we went and bought the 3/8 drive one too. They are super strong amd super durable. And i think we paid 89.00 for the big one and 69 .00 for the smaller one and that includes the battery. I think we had to buy the charger for 19.99 separate. But thats still cheaper than the milwaukee or any other name brand ones out there

    Morning EZ. Love the video and the truck.
    It's been my experience that the electric impacts can run into problems with rusty bolts and nuts once you get them broken loose and they can bounce.
    I grew up in snow country and was an operating engineer mechanic, after I went in the Seabees I didn't go back 🤣 I don't miss the salt rust.

    • @Ezrider359
      @Ezrider359  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'd say the electric impact works every bit as well if not better than my air powered one but it's still only going to do so much against nature's locktight

    • @cbmech2563
      @cbmech2563 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've got a nitrocat 1250k and in some circumstances it will take bolts the m18 won't. Sometimes the electric just bounces

    Penetrating oil is the same as the paint stripper, you have to give it time to work. When you decide you need to replace a part is the time to start using it. I'm sure with the road conditions in your area it's not always going to get the job done but in most cases it will.

    • @Ezrider359
      @Ezrider359  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They can't touch me on that. My truck was manufactured 1983. Your notice I don't have reflective tape on the top corners of my sleeper either. There's two different dates mentioned in the regs regarding relective tape.trucks put into service after 1989 and manufactured after 1997 in the requirements for reflective tape.
