Nobody. His power and richness is unmatched. Placido Domingo has a truly beautiful tone, more musically sweet to the ear, but it doesn't have the same masculine intensity that is actually more correct for the rôle here anyway.
I just have received the new I'm going to be grandma for first time. And listening this incredible voice I'm sure that "life vincero" even in difficult situations.
I think Luciano was the greatest tenor of all times. I feel so Blessed to have seen him in person twice. I never tire of listening to his music. What a outstanding instrument God gave him. 🙏🙏
I was a Caruso fan for years before I ever heard Pavarotti. Caruso prepared the way for my appreciation and admiration of Pavarotti. Thank God for them both.
On a cold, rainy night, I found myself standing at the edge of despair, ready to give up on life. The weight of the world felt unbearable, and I could see no way out of my darkness. As I sat alone, contemplating the end, a faint melody began to fill the room. It was Luciano Pavarotti's voice, singing "Nessun Dorma." The powerful, haunting notes pierced through my gloom. As the aria swelled, the words "Vincerò! Vincerò!" resonated within me. Tears welled up in my eyes, streaming down my face uncontrollably. In that moment, something stirred inside me. The music's beauty and the raw emotion in Pavarotti's voice reignited a spark of hope. I realized that I wanted to live, to fight, and to find meaning again. The song ended, but its impact remained. I stood up, feeling the first glimmers of strength and determination to embrace life once more.
Very happy to hear that the song had such a great wonderful effect on you. I've sometimes been in the same situation but somehow or other I always decide to keep trying. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
Quite possibly, and I m being serious, the finest individual vocal performance in the history of planet Earth. I am convinced that it was this song's performance which launched the recording of this entire concert to triple platinum. I consider myself privileged to have lived in the age of Pavarotti.
Unfortunately I compare all others to him and there is just no one that comes close. We were lucky to have him and he is greatly missed. He truly enjoyed what he did and it clearly shows in every performance.
One of the definitive moments of not only music, but all humanity. The stirring melody and rich, virtuosic timbre of a master born for his craft reaches deep into the soul to express the essence of triumph over adversity and the infinite power of love. What’s more human than that? I can listen to this a thousand times and still be moved to tears each time.
It says if he had a direct connection to the Divine. The power, the beauty, the perfection could only have come from above. And every time he performed this, he was honoring that gift.
Only Il Maestro could pull it off, and move people to tears. There will never be another like Luciano Pavarotti. NEVER! He might be gone, but he won't be forgotten. NGL
I heard Pavarotti sing this a hundred times over his career.....but this is my favorite version, and he did it when the whole world was watching.......all 3 of them really rose to the occasion.
The greatest tenor ever ! I had the privilege and it was a privilege to see him in London, the best evening of my long life ! In lock down and re living every moment .
There's absolutely no one who understood this song, the meaning, more than he did. Just waste a few moments listening and watching others try this aria and you will be so disappointed. As others have said, you don't even need to understand Italian to understand what he's promising at the end. His voice is more than fabulous, it's unrivaled Delicious, layered, yummy.

He probably knew it was one of - if not the most - the most important renditions he would have to deliver in his whole career. He overcame all expectations. Thank you, Lord, for this privilege.
This is so beautiful, every time I hear this sung by Luciano Pavarotti I must always listen to Mario Lanza's sing it first... Every time I find myself in tears of joy, especially near the end.... II can truly understand why so many singers have followed in the foot steps of Mario Lanza as he set the bench mark to follow... I have listened to these being sung all my life since I was a small child and I totally marvel at the pure power and genius of both Luciano and Mario... Once you have experienced this beautiful music you never look back, this is pure blissful magic in song.
I was lying in the hospital after open heart surgery, I was ready to die. From across the hall I heard Pavarotti sing this, tears poured down my face and I felt for the first time, I wanted to live.
This song is a masterpiece Pavarotti sings it with his soul. My whole being trembles at the beauty of this song and it’s this man’s rendition of it. God bless him
Yes, Pavarotti himself proved so 😅 he used to be able to go even higher and hit C5 for 9 times in a row singing “Ah, mes amis”. I go crazy every time I hear that
@@y.r._ it is. One does not attempt an opera C5 in one snap, it takes a lot of practice and requires to take care of your voice if you want it to last while you get old. Many tenors didn’t have a reliable C5. Stop saying that just because people are tenors "C5 iS eAsY lMaO"
@@魚-c3d I did not say it was easy. I said it was not that big of a deal for a practiced vocalist. Look at the context of the comments. The question was "can the human voice go beyond this?", and yes, it can go beyond C5. Point is, that "beyond" doesn't refer to range.
@@y.r._ you missed an element. The other dude said that Pavarotti could hit high c 9 times in a row. If it’s not special, I don’t know what could impress you.
Al escuchar esta hermosísima interpretación del más grande de todos los tiempos Luciano Pavarotti eres y serás siempre el mejor tenor que ha dado la ópera y con Nessun dorma no hay comparación de te extraña maestro
Absolutely nothing and nobody touches this man singing. Good God. Saw his documentary movie last night in the cinema. At the very end, there was a blackout for 5 seconds, and you thought it was all over. Nope. THIS came up, and it was played in full. One of my favourite ever pieces of music. So awesome. Tears fell out of my face ❤️
@Marie Whitbread pavorotti better than caruso? Caruso could sing everything, from dramatic to leggero tenor arais, while pavarotti was not so good in spinto/dramatic pieces. Caruso had a fenomenale timbre, that for me is better than pavarotti's. Pavarotti interpretations were not very nice, while caruso's were divine. Pavarotti is good but Caruso is the best. Pavarotti is not even in top 20 of the best tenors ever
Merveilleux Pavarotti

2:30 "I will win" And he did... I can't help but be moved as I write this
I love him!
the best ever, period
No one can reach those notes under heavy orchestrations the way Pavarotti did. He is simply the best and the greatest of them all.
Absolutely. No contest !!

@@benisrood Indeed. Very true.
It's unlistenable without tears

I agree. I just can't help it and I'm not a crier.
In response to that kind of pure beauty, yes, one can only weep.
That look on his face at the end...he KNEW it was his best recording ever....what a masterpiece!!!

the 1994 version was the best recording ever, and he gives the exact same expression. Which makes me thing he did it every time he finished the song
According to him, it's because every time he hit that note, he thought he saw God. Or something to that effect.
I miss this voice so much! Thank goodness we have recordings!
Christmas eve 2024....I'm here ❤️ for the love of the great Paravotti! 🇿🇦
This is art.
My worst nightmare is true, never hearing this man live.
More people need to know about this man.
hes singing to a mic anyway dude
Lex Mortis agree with you unique man unique voice...
I wish people like him could live forever to spread his talent.
I SAW HIM LIVE IN BARCELONA...MY BODY WAS SHAKING WHEN HE SUNG!!!
Listen to his granddaughter sing it. He's still here.
When he reaches the highest note at the end I cry everytime I hear this and I'm not ashamed of it at all. It's incomparable. Grazie Maestro.
This song and his voice send chills down my entire body❤

Pavarotti would be so pleased to know this.
