For this legendary concert, José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, and Luciano Pavarotti were joined by conductor Zubin Mehta, the L.A. Philharmonic, and the L.A. The way Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti care for José Carreras who won the battle against leukemia is heart-warming. Everyone should be surrounded with such supportive friends. 90s vibes forever. 💔

Pavarotti can outsing them but he chooses not to humiliate his friends! Well done, maestro! You're in the singer's Paradise for this!
Thats why he put his hand on his shoulder & bowed to him after his 2nd set.. bc he knew he held back to let him go
@@donalddepew5373 totally not. Actually Domingo made a mistake took a wrong part and sang a part that was meant for Carreras. As a result to even out the balance Carreras interfered with Pavarotti, took half of his and signaled him I take this part and actually sang together in the end as well. You can clearly read that from their body language. It has nothing to do with outsinging or anything. Later they both invaded Domingos part which threw him off and confused him for a moment, and then he just turned it to motivate the audience.
@@christian9540 im don't know anything about music so sure... but the body language was all sorry sorry & thank u thank u... there being more nuanced reason makes sense
@@donalddepew5373 I dont think you need to know about music. Who sings what is toatlly up to them. But you could clearly see it was not meant to be like that and the improvised to even it out.

Pavarotti looks like a happy guy that really enjoyed what he did
That's because he really did. And he was a very lovable man. That's also why he got so popular among the younger generation and those outside the opera genre.

We're so lucky: not only to have three such incredible talents, but to be able to watch and listen to them as many times as we like. Imagine the old days when you had to be physically there at the theatre to hear them, and it was once and only once.
You’re quite right, I am often guilty of muttering that I was born in the wrong generation, I am completely incorrect because what I really mean is that was lucky sought to be born into a generation that can experience and learn about any damn generation gone before
Its a great time to be alive, its also the most confusing era to live in.
Escuchar a los tres es una pasada. impresionante. ✡️✡️🐂🇪🇸🇪🇸
I think those who listen only once are luckier because they live in that moment. And they feel every moment because they know they will never listen to it again. We, on the other hand, devalue this art because we know that we will listen whenever we want.
@@aliaciktepe - I'm always in the moment when I listen to music - though, granted, the first time of hearing is the best, because it's all new and you can experience it as new.
There are a couple of pieces that I don't play very often, because they always bring me to the edge of tears, and I don't want to lose that reaction as I probably would if I played them every day. But they still move me even after hearing them fifty times.
Dont understand a single word but makes me feel sublime .

Those fortunate enough to have witnessed this performance live are truly blessed.
I envy those people who were privileged to hear these great tenors sing together, hearing even one of them singing is already a great moment to cherish. Hearing the combination of their voices together I believe is a great achievement. Their music will stay great and outlast even every lifetime. Even if one cannot understand Italian, hearing them sing will be enough and you one wont care like me, Bravo.
The communication between them and smile for each other’s talents are worlds last display of chivalry

I don’t speak a word of Italian, but it’s clear how much fun they had together. The audience was blessed to witness so much talent on one stage, doing what they love

@@Endrit719 Yep. Bryan Adams is one of my faves too, on the pup world of music.
The absolute camaraderie these gentleman displayed was outstanding.
my grandma died just under a year ago - one of my last memories of her was whilst she was in a care home. we were talking about music and she was talking about some operas and classical music she liked; for the life of her could not remember the names of the singers but referred to them as ‘the big three’. after a search i found this video, and we spent an hour or so watching this and many other videos. she was in such pain at the time, but to see her enjoy herself and relax to the music was something else. every so often this video has come back up in my recommendations and i’ll always watch it as it reminds me of her now
They were all amazing, but it's unbelievable that Pavarotti's voice wasn't only the most powerful among them but also the best at giving sweetness and kindness in the right moments (like at 1:34 when it sings "gaudio dell'amore..."). Also the clarity of pronunciation is unreachable for the other twos
Pavorotti had the sweetest tone. He had it all as a singer
pronunciation probably having more to do with him being the only native Italian speaker I would think of the trio, no?
Natural born talent.
@@brianm9085 of course. However Placido and Jose are spanish, quite close language. But native pronunciation means a lot when adding the right modulation to the voice as the original composer intended to
one of the success of this trio was that they didn't compete each other, so let's enjoy them in the same way.
