10 Tips for Hiking Everest Base Camp (Sustainably) & Sagarmatha Next's Innovative Approach to Waste

Visiting Sagarmatha Next along the trek to Everest Base Camp was a welcome surprise and is a great stop to learn about sustainability and the challenges of waste in the Khumbu Valley region. In this video I'm sharing a few tips to make your journey a bit more eco-friendly, as well as good reminders that are applicable to any hike in this area. EBC is one of the most popular treks, so consider opting to reduce pressure by opting for less-trekked hikes such as the Tamang Heritage Trail, etc. It's good to see the awareness growing on current over-tourism issues, and I hope progress is made to help both the local Nepalese communities and the fragile yet incredibly beautiful surrounding ecosystems. Thoughts and ideas from others are always welcome, but please be respectful.
