Damn things are loud, vibrate like nothing you've seen before (good industrial option for the miss), and heavy.
However I can pretty much guarantee the thing run no matter what. I found my 3 banger version laying on its side in the woods, guy said it was there for probably 15 years or better. Literally all I did was hook the battery cables up, didn't bother to replace the cracked fuel lines or even check the oil, damn thing fired on the first rotation and the chase was on all over the shop to get it to stop.

With Lister engines all you need is a bit of wet and dry to scrub the bore out and clean the piston etc. I once had one that had sat on the bottom of the river for six months and then on the river bank for another year. I stripped it down cleaned it up with wet and dry and some paraffin put it back together and it started with the first crank of the handle after bleeding all in a morning.

I heard AvE say " they're Whitworth " and they most likely were or even BSF (British Standard Fine) they are both of 55 degree form invented by Sir Joseph Whitworth in the 1860's and used here in the UK and the Dominions until Britain metricated slowly from officially 1970 although industry was very slow to do so and not until the mid eighties was it by then employed. I left school in 1970 and we were the last year to use the Imperial system. The education sector were the first to metricate, and in 1971 all the old steel rules in the workshops were tossed out and new metric ones bought.

13/32" and 27/64" are both between 10mm and 11 mm. Because Standard rules! Plus we also have the X, Y and Z letter drills between 10 and 11 mm too. And people say that metric is more precise. Pfft. How little they really know.

We had an old Lister engine here on the farm in ZA as our only source of lectrcicity, We used to pull-start it by wrapping an old woven belt around the flywheel . . .then grab the end of it and run out the door as hard and fast as you can . . .sometimes the belt gets caught by the flywheel . . .the frayed ends of the belt attest to that..and the scrape marks on the ceiling . . .no safety sandals those days.
