This is where I beat FF1 NES using only damage that comes from the Nun-Chuck weapon type...this is a long video and I had to cut out some of the exp grind...thanks to TH-cam only allowing 12 hour long videos.

9:36:30 I was in the Marine Corps, and I didn't like to PT when I was enlisted. I started working out again when I turned 39, and I found that when it was on my own terms, I really enjoy it lol
~21:00 -- I was going to recommend the peninsula grind then remembered that you are stuck with 'chucks until the end of the game so I quietly Homer Simpson Gif-ed instead of posting that recommendation (luckily as that would have looked dumb on my end ;-p )
~33:00 -- "there's NEVER going to be an unarmed White Mage Challange" -- I think Sullah BARELY did it on the NES with 2 warriors, a red mage, and a white mage, I think 4 white mages would either never kill Chaos unarmed, or would take LITERAL hours.
~3:53:00 -- I'm ALSO in the proud solo thief completion tier, and on PR no less. Issue is I had to grind all of vit, str, and agility every single level till i could beat chaos, at level cap (think it's 50 for PR), issue is I had to spam stats items to get the solo theif through. I'm assuming your NES run probably went better (probably attributable to your greater familiarity with challange runs, hopefully :) )
@@roymerkel8008 in PR it's way easier to solo the game as any class. Max level is 99 and you have items to raise stats and buffs that work. On NES it took me like 24 hours, I'm guessing on PR I could do that in like 8 hours or less.
@@shanezell for me it took a fair bit longer beause I got comically bad luck on the stat rerolls (though some 3 stat rerolls are 1/256 to pull, so maybe about average), also i rerolled all 99 levels to get 3 stats, which was probably not the right choice. Looking at this video, looks like rerolls were only neccessary through Lich, then any roll was good. I think you are right about 8 hours if I stat rerolled only for Lich as you did. For the NES, my run got as far as Kraken, then I managed to lose my own save (HD failure and the save wasn't properly backed up), but think your estimate is about right assuming average - good luck on rerolls.
