I don't typically fix wires using those crimp connectors. I usually slip on a piece of heat shrink tubing on the wire and then tin both ends of the break and solder them together and then slip the heat shrink over the solder connection. That way it looks factory and doesn't add a lot of bulk.

I always enjoy watching these guys get work. I watch a few other similar TH-cam channels. A couple of them the guys get in a new build and put out three videos of them just saying how awesome the car is with all its carbon fiber and this option or that option. I can see maybe half a video or even one video of ooooo awwww omg oh oh I'm I'm gonna but three videos of that gets old. The Nicko brothers are like yea cool car get to work.

Solder & Heat shrink ALWAYS or get the crimp connectors with the solder in them that you heat up after crimping.

There should be an auto program selection on the Autel Scan Tablet. Try that selection to see if it initiates the setting on the air suspension. Also when you disconnect the battery and reconnect it a lot of the accessories are re-initiated including the air suspension.

That is a good car. Michael I did say I thought it was in 'limp mode' I forgot to mention that you have to use Mercedes 'Star system" to cancel the errors but you found that out anyway. Ivan I don't mind using crimping connectors but where possible I do solder wires and heat shrink on top. Maybe personal preference? Good video Brothers thanks for sharing. 👍

I normally solder and heat shrink when fixing wires but there is a down side to soldering, the wire looses flexibility in that area and if its bent back and forth it can break. The crimp connections you used will keep the wire flexible. I also like the heat shrink connectors that have low temp solder in them, but if the wires are not clean the low temp solder will not bond to the wires and you can have a bad connection that appears good. As basic as the crimp connections are, they keep your wire flexible, have heat shrink already on them and ensure a good bond/connection when crimped correctly
Its a really nice fancy car, dont expect its extreme fast but not slow also.

Mercs (performance models) are always a good buy IMO. Good job on picking this one up.
This isn't a performance model, it's an AMG trim package, and nothing is "always a good buy". It depends on what you pay for it.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH , It seems you don't understand the part in the title where it says "AMG". AMG is the performance branch of Mercedes Benz, like TRD is the performance branch of Toyota. Performance branch of these two companies add performance parts to new stock cars and trucks.
This an s550 the performance version is the s63 amg.

What model is the scanner used in video?
The part that makes the seat belts retract (go back in) is called a "retractor" so that code means, that particular seat belt is deployed/ locked
Yeah, I thought this would be obvious to guys who repair wrecked vehicles.

you now can get heat shrink connectors that have solder in the middle so when you apply heat not only does it shrink the tubing but it also solders the wire joint!
For wire harness for repair use Friction Tape instead of the regular electrical tape. Your repair will look as the factory harness wrap.

It’s crazy that with a click of a OBD scanner screen u can start the car again 💯👌 a lot of people would think it’s a Gas inertia switch but it not the case with Mercedes bc of the Pyrofuse 👍 only downside if u gotta find someone with a Good autel scanner
AMG's only come in two numbers, This is a S550 with a AMG Package

You should solder the cut and then repaired wires that the oxidation does not get to those connections in the long run.

Such a sexy car. Join a forum about them instead, those guys were way more helpful for me for finding parts, the exact same bosche part just not branded mercedes 1/5th of the cost locally, straight from Germany. Fixed quite a few things myself, and I'm a girl :)
3:03 that tray is supposed to be a drop down bag for groceries or laundry etc.. I don't know if they come solid or if you just needed to push down on it but mine drops down if you push it and retracts on it's own if you push the button

you can push down on the tray and when you push the button it will spring back to its position. it’s called a comfort box

Looks like someone was driving with no seatbelt in front but had people in the back with belts on. Double check the buckle units as well, as they also have a retractor and when it engages it pulls the buckle unit back in to where it is impossible to latch.
The codes revealed what needed replacing. The squibs show an open on the code reader.

How do you know if it's a good deal until they get it fixed and resell it? You can buy these anywhere, clean title, same mileage (70k), for $40k-$45k. This one is worth less because of its salvage title and it's not even a 4Matic. I don't think they're going to lose money on it, but they're not going to get rich. It's a good candidate to fix and keep.
The W222 is my favorite S-class. Glad to see you acquire one!
13:47 Those butt connectors work well.
Using non-insulated butt connectors and quality shrink tubing will make a thinner wire bundle repair.
I just bought a ratcheting crimper for those connectors really makes a good solid connection .
What instrument (model and make) did he use to reset the computer?
Needs two boosters too jump the benz with that high battery

Knowing mercedes the parts wont be cheap nice car though sure you guys will sort it.
Don't you find it kind of hard to flip certain cars.. like this one? This could be a lifetime car. Great grandpa's Merc! He only takes it out on Sundays now. Takes it to church.. to dinner.. and then out on the interstate for about ten minutes. One more speeding ticket and his license is toast!

Some will say you paid too much. Some will say you got a steal. In the end you will determine if it was a good buy. Once you order parts and put it all back together. Either way, it is a nice car.
A luxury car with a salvage title is usually worth significantly less than one without a salvage title. They may be in for some sticker shock when they see the price of parts for this car and there are almost always hidden issues with salvage cars that end up costing more. On the plus side, cars are selling for a premium right now, so they'll probably do alright if they decide to sell it. Once they own and drive one of these cars, they might not want to sell it though. haha.

I love my twin turbo V8 Mercedes. Get it tuned once you finish the repairs, unleash the beast within.
If you haven't checked e-bay for your body parts. Yes they are on there. Price? e-bay VS dealer, your time option.
FWIW, not a true AMG, it just has the AMG appearance package.
Regarding your suspension, you may like to take a quick look at Leg it Street Cars. He had a total nightmare with his Merc suspension..it would not lift.
This is a completely different system than what Alex's CL65 has. This is Airmatic and the CL65 is ABC (hydraulic).
