Hello brother, I am also a Brigadier General of our fine southern nation. I have Hood’s Texas Brigade; 1st TX, 4th TX, 5th TX and 18th GA (a total of 200 men)

I would also paint the white "bottom edge" of your fields in a green that matches you game mat (green).

The rules work just fine for small games. I would suggest that you paint the bases a green to match your mat (on the video they look almost black). They would blend in much better if they matched the green of the table mat/cloth. Nice looking figures.

Many thanks. Sold these figures quite a while ago. They were some of my first armies

If you play a game with your 20mm Zulus I recommend using cms rather than inches for movement and firing ranges. This will counter the small table size and allow you to explore the rules more. Personally I have found 25/28mm games on a small table to be too cramped - for instance in this game the blunder caused the Union unit to leave the table, whereas this is not the intention of the rule, simply to withdraw from the enemy. Also you will find the ACW supplement, Glory Hallelujah, adds a lot of rules that improve the game still further (and there is a 2nd edition of the main rules now). Thanks for posting as always good to see these rules played.

Thanks buddy will certainly take your suggestions for 20mm game. Yes the blunder was a bit lethal on the small table. :-)

Really enjoyed your table and figures, as always, nice to see the playing of bigger figures on what for many of us is a typical sized table at home.
The Glory Hallelujah supplement has additional rules, the most interesting and useful is that if a unit fires that turn, then whatever it rolls for orders, it cannot make more than 1 move that turn. That really helps with a smaller table. (as said inches to centimetres can also help, but with the bigger figures, inches to half inches or a 66% scaled ruler can also work, but the max one move when firing rules to some extent reduces the need for this).
I think the Brigade Cohesion rules as written make more sense against a background of a large game with several brigades and the system working to make such an action playable to conclusion in a single evening by taking units off the table. When using fewer troops, I think it helps to dampen down that effect, so maybe break when MORE than half units can act as a trigger or even ignore the rule until the brigade is down to the last unit or ignore the contribution of shaken troops towards the trigger. The dampening doesn't have to be too severe, but perhaps the smaller game does need some help in that regard.
Anyway, lovely troops and nice casualty bases and a real nice balance of terrain for good visuals.

Now you see, I was thinking of dabbling in this especially when they bought out the Waterloo range. But having watched a couple of battle reports now I think there is a huge flaw in the rules system in which movement is too fast. In the ACW weapons were still muzzle loading but their range was up to 300 yards and, especially in major battles, forces rarely closed to bayonet point unless their were serious obstacles in the way of the shooters. Generally there were fire fights or one side attempted to assault with major casualties. Further, it would appear that in your game the impact of volleys was relatively even between the Reb's and the Yankees. Also fairly unrealistic because it suggests that there was no benefit from the hard cover the Union forces were behind compared to the Confederate forces in the open. And correct me if I am wrong, but the moving units have the same rate of fire as the stationary ones while advancing without casualties three times the range of the rifles?

Nice little table, nice figures too. Too bad you didn’t film during your movements and battles.

Where are your flags from? Is your snake fence made for 15mm? Is your casualty marker homemade? Great video!

Flags are from the Perry boxed plastic set. I think I just built the snake fence a bit small. Casualty markers were just homemade
      Thanks

@@scotty7906 just a regular base, build a square for the dice?
I like the names of the regiments.

Did your wheat field slow the movement of the units moving through it? (I would suggest that it should; that is a way to make a smaller table work better with the rules, i.e. with movement impediments).

Just recently started getting back into horse and musket wargaming and have been looking into Black Powder. One thing I noticed right away is that casualties are not removed from the table. That's a difficult mechanic for me to get used to.

yes a lot of rules now use multi based figures. If you look at some of my other videos I have single based rules by charles Grant on the battle reports, but i must admit I am in the process of also basing 4 figures to a base now

Charging a fresh Union unit which is supported by Union artillery, both of which are getting a defensive bonus for being behind earthworks, should be punished.

Nice figures and table. Shame to rule with such a horrible set of rules. I avoid Warlord rules at all cost. Go with the Fire and Fury systems, much more flavor and better results.
