    Very enjoyable game.

    Enjoyed thanks - For Black Powder, I use the rule from Glory Hallelujah that does not allow a unit to fire if it has moved more than 1 move, that seems to work quite well, while keeping the current sequence of play. This would have made quite a difference here as it would have prevented the French firing and then immediately charging.
    I’m not suggesting one way is better than the other, but rather just noting that changing the order of sequence of play did have an impact in this instance.

      yes i found the original sequence of play favoured the attacker too much for this period but also swapping the sequence did favour a counter attack from the french defenders. Maybe if my middle brigade hadnt been chewed up by muskets so much I may have been able to steady the line and counter attack myself.

    I tell everyone that plays BP that they should swap the fire and command phase. Will make the game 100x more playable.

      It did seem to work well. although I should have been more wary of a french counter attack! maybe next time more units in support would help to stabilize the line.

    Great battle report, great work! The 'look' is actually very close to what I was going for in my WSS project, with a combination of W.Factory plastics and Front Rank metals, although I got distracted and didn't get very far with it. I was also massively disappointed with the WF cavalry, which I thought were awful, although you've made them look quite decent. And your BP mods make a lot of sense, 'raw' BP is almost unplayable.

      @scotty7906  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many thanks. Yes the WF cavalry are very poor. Only reason I use them is as a cheap alternative. I think the mods suit the period more as BP movement and fire is too extreme in it's current format

    That’s so cool I’ve never seen something like this before I knew a guy that did 40k but nothing historical

      Glad you like it, historical wargaming can be a lot of fun.

    I'm interested in what staff rating you usually give your commanders. Personally I solo game and give both sides a general 9. Brigades can still fail orders, but perhaps also not too much. I find disorder a bit overpowered. Some games I play, if the shooting hit (a 6), is saved, I play it that the unit is not disordered.
    I've also seen videos where units are disordered by sixes rolled in combat. I personally don't interpret the rules that way.
    Interested in your thoughts

    • @scotty7906
      @scotty7906  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I generally set commanders as 9 unless historical poor. I do find units disorder quite a bit. I dont use the disorder in combat as that would mean even more disordered units and my units struggle as it is. I like the option of being able to save a disorder though, might start doing that 😀

      @@scotty7906 I totally agree. If my AWI Redcoats are facing off against American militia, I'd probably give the militia Sr 8. As a solo wargamer I am looking for a good, fun game and sometimes a challenge. I quite like imbalanced game's where the larger force has to take an objective in a certain number of turns. That sort of thing
