Thank you for an amazing engine! It just arrived today so the Monte Carlo SS is about to be torn down! EPIC video!!
Thank you for hooking up auto auction rebuild with phenomenal 383 stroker!
Thanks for hooking up AAR with the sponsorship. That made me visit.
I'm actually in the market for a crate engine, as I have a project in mind. I'll definitely consider your products.
All I can say is WOW so cool thanks for building that sweet engine for Randy.
Thank you for working with Randy at Auto Auction Rebuilds on a fantastic engine build. You have yourself another subscriber. Can't wait to check out other videos of yours!
I'm looking forward to seeing Randy put that into his 1987 Chevy Monte Carlo SS! Very Cool!
Came over to see Randys engine. Looks great!
I loved the time lapse build. I get all that I need to see without the chatter. Thanks.
Man that cam lope is perfect. And the engine sounded awesome on the dyno!
Came over from watching Randy’s channel and I’m very impressed. Will definitely be subscribing and keeping you guys in mind when I’m ready for a new build .
Like how the motor runs and sound. Very good build. I really enjoyed the video. Strong!!
Thanks for building the 383 stroker for Randall at Auto Auctions Rebuilds!
I like the water pump spinning on its own. Nice builds. I built mine locally but it cost more for sure.
I can't wait. I just older my 383 about two weeks ago and should get it in about two months 😁
Thank you for hooking up AAR man we sure appreciate what you do the hard work you put into building those balanced engines!!
Great engine build. Thanks for sponsoring Randy at AAR with this engine build.
I currently have a project I would like to build and will definitely consider your products.
Wow, that cam lope is exciting! Awsome!
Great engine build video, I like that you use the Hypereutectic pistons on a street engine.
Glad to see you guys ran a 650cfm carb..so many people over carb the motors.
Ehh, 750 would be the better choice on that build.
@@lit549 not really since its below the 500hp threshold. 650 will support up to 500hp. I could see that argument if they had thought the motor would go over that and then was restricted or if it wasnt going in a street car/
I ran a 650 on a '500' hp 383 switched to a 750 cfm & the 383 was ALOT happier
@@jeffdohse7124 how much difference in HP and torque?
@@cuzz63 Engine shop used a 750 on their dyno. Never got around to Dyno'ing with my BG Demon 750 but it pulled a lot harder. 13.0 1/4 mile w 650 Edelbrock & 12.6 with the 750 Demon. But I also had pocket ported heads & port matched rpm intake So the better breathing made a difference.
That block is very impressive I like this setup you're putting together. 🍀💚🧩
Popped on over from Auto Auction Rebuilds to watch. Loved it.
Great video for Auto Auction Rebuilds of Randy's engine!!!
Thanks for building a nice engine for Randy!
Great job with Randy's motor
The best way to set valve lash right there 👍
Those are some extremely nice upgrades to that block.
Two detail items I’d like to know more about. How much lobe lift does that block allow before the oil pressure band comes out of the block?
I know there are some lifters with work arounds for this. Just cost associated like in most cases.
The other item is cylinder distortion under torque plate honing conditions .
Those blind head bolt holes are a plus no doubt and I know that those head bolt holes were CNC machined and much more accurately located than the factory based engines are.
When decking these style blocks the head bolt threads being flush with the deck makes it necessary to champher the bolt holes. For this reason it would be very nice if those head bolt holes had a counter bore depth before the threads began.
I’m sure it could be done and still accommodate a common length ARP stud.
Just think that it would improve overall quality and even help the manufacturing process.
Couldn’t add more than a minute to the cycle times.
Over all those are major nice upgrades.
A 4 1/4” bore ?
Awesome professional build and video. thanks. AG
Nice engine, cant wait to see Randy start the Monte Carlo with the new 383. The stock 5.0 v8 is ok, but nowhere near 480 hp.
Thank you for building, auto action, rebuilds engine
Great job man
Awesome. I definitely appreciate American made MUSCLE! 🇺🇲💪🏼
Thank you for your knowledge and video's USA 🇺🇸 USA 🇺🇸
Very impressive
I can't wait!!!!!!!!
Excellent video! Great work! If you don't mind me asking, what assembly lube was he using in the oil can?
Great! More engine content!👍 Now, if i may be so bold as to ask, are we going to get some more content on your personal land speed engine?🤷♂️🇺🇸👍🇺🇸🤘🇺🇸
Thanks guys men thank you that you guys build this engine of randy
thanks for auto euction rebuilds 383
What a smorgasbord of engines.
Very nice
Do you guys run an LS7 style roller lifter in these 383 SBC style combos? Great looking engine 👍🇦🇺
Randy sent me 👍
Long live the SBC! I heard of you today from a friend who just ordered a short block. Very impressive how you are making all your own parts, and it's a good idea to use a 4.000 bore with a 3.8 stroke to get the 383 cubes. What is the make of the HEI dist?
One day i can be like u guys
All i kept thinking was 'overbuilt for only 480 hp'. Thinking to my 500 hp 500 lb torque 1971 block with 400 crank & hypereutectics Run since 1999 with No problems.
That's correct after the two 429 Cobra jet engines the second one had the oil going to the crankshaft first cause on the first the crank seized.
What?🤷🏻♂️…
I will definitely be contacting you about an engine soon !
First 👍's up EG thank you for sharing 😅
All of your motors have these upgrades? Or just for this guy? thanks
Do a Chrysler 340 block, if priced right they will sell all round the world. Make it an improved version like the chev block in the story.
Awesome I'm torn between 383 and the 406. I had a blueprint sbc 396 in my 71 k10 short bed. Need more power. Lol 510 wasn't enough. 😂
421 is what you need
Are you going for street manners? For the price of a 600 hp small block drop in a big block and reap the benefits of big torque. Just a thought
What distributor do you run in this SBC engine, music for video not to bad
Cheers
Do you guys build any aluminum LS3 based short blocks? either standard 376 or 416 strokers?
Do you have a file for the sniper tune for that engine? Im afraid of mine over compensating on the fuel on break in. For the 1st gen sniper.
Is there enough room to run a double roller chain?
I will be getting me something for my 1971 Torino 500 build
Do you guys also offer a 4.125" bore SBC or just the 4.000" ? In terms of the added material that you mentioned going into the block, is that more or less a substitute to allow all perpendicular main fasteners rather than outside splayed ? How about Billet Main Caps as an upgrade ? Very nice looking block. The cam thrust plate is also a nice addition.
Splayed mains are stronger than straight.
Splayed mains are stronger than straight.
I THINK U MEANT TO SAY "AUTO AUCTION WALK AROUNDS" THERE AIN'T NO RESTORING OR REBUILDING GOING ON THERE. LOL.
Now this channel is a different story..... great things happen here.
You don't measure rod bolt stretch? Just torque them? Or did I miss it? Thoughts on skipping what I understand is an important step??
How much do you charge for a 383 stroker motor like the one you have that y'all just built
How much does this set up cost from carb to oil pan?
I have a question. I noticed that you used brass freeze plugs but you used steel plugs in the cam and oil areas. Why is that?
How much for that build in this video?? Ive got a nice 1984 Monte Carlo SS. I dont need athe distributor or carburetor, need it shipped to North Ga.
I've watched 2 of your engine assembly videos and you did not degree the camshaft in either one. Why not?
Can you build new lt1 engines for 1994 corvette
What’s up with the land speed build??
Wish someone would make a stroker kit for Oldsmobiles 350,403,455
That is a (SMOKING DEAL) on your "POWER ADDER" shortblock with that block! If i had the coin i would throw it down right now as i planned to build a all forged AFR headed version to replace my GM ZZ430 clone.
I do wish you had a normal 350CI.. It would also be cool as crap if you guys did "RETRO" 302CI, 327CI, and 396CI Small blocks as well....
What is the Max HP rating that block of yours can handle? I wanna add 15psi and shoot for 750hp+ /650RWHP... 90% street engine... But i want it to last.
And what oil pump do you guys use? Melling "Sharktooth"?!? Those are the one i had planned to get.
A lisp is so easily fixed. There are literally 100s of videos on yt that will show you how to fix this and sound more professional.
What's up with your new engine?
What is rod length?
I'm fixing to copy a David Vizard 383 build, where they got 620hp on pump gas! I'm going to copy it step by step, part by part. It's here on TH-cam if anyone else is interested in building a 600+ horsepower pump gas 383 sbc.
More power to you Doc!
Vizard is the man💪
You don't Degree the cam ?
What does this build cost?
How much for the bear block honed and ready to assemble?
probably close to 2000
Why didn't you prime the oil pump?😂
After powertrain losses, you're lucky if 380hp reaches the ground, a Yukon has 400hp to the back wheels!
What Yukon?? I have a '500' hp 392 Challenger it dynoed 425 at the wheels So please tell me what Yukon puts 400 at the wheels. I'm interested
Did you say what cylinder heads you are running on this motor?
Its their own head...probably cast by a Chinese company..he said they were 180 cc heads which IMO are a little small on a 383.
@@cuzz63lol, from an engine building channel
@@cuzz63 a 180 is what you mostly use with dual plane intakes. just bump up the cam duration but the fact it still makes 480hp with a dula plane and 180 heads says a lot more about the combo as a whole than the Chinese heads alone
Can you get 600 hp out of a old school 350 sbc block ??
Naturally aspirated I highly doubt it & if you managed to crest near that then the torque curve would be awful.
That’s pushing the limits on an old school 350 block. I’d go aftermarket personally. Dart SHP at a minimum.
@@ABetterLifeInc I run a 71 LT1 350 with 4 bolt mains I'd say your fine until you get in the mid 500's for torque Now a 2 bolt main block yeah 450 or so probably pushing your luck
Funny thing is with a lt4 hot cam I’ve made over 510 hp out of my 355 vortec flat top piston 7/16th screw in studs cut down guide bosses 3000 stall shift kit th350 built th350also 373 8.5 posi u had to do all that with a 383 and still didn’t achieve what I’ve done in a few months
How did you do that ? I have a ZZ4 350 which I was going to throw a hot cam in and I couldn't even get close to that what heads did you use?
@@denb3607 stock 906 vortec heads cast iron heads just get then ported and get the guide bosses cut down 3 angle valve job 7/16th screw in studs with the hex shaft on there be sure to get ur spring height installed correctly since u added the shaft 510 on a dyno
Okay so again that was the exact setup I was going to use I have the vortec heads cast iron which I have not done anything with yet . Then I was going to get the lt4 hot cam but it looked as only if I was going to come up about 450 horses and the same for torque. my zz4 has flat top pistons as well giving me about 10.1 compression with the vortec heads.
What’s the max horsepower for a Chevy small block that you could build for the street can you build a 600 horse 650 horse that I can drive on the street I like to know if anybody give me a comet
Should be easily achievable on a 434 sbc stroker. Its expensive.
David Vizard has a video about one thats got 700+ n/a pump gas
th-cam.com/video/v9R1dh-oTYU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=X_LtyGdopSSABqFX
600-650 hp for a street spec small block chevy is a bit much on pump gas without forced induction.
@@dieseldan420ca cubic inches.. a 434 could do it.
@@KingJT80An aftermarket block cranked to 427-434 can do 700 on pump.
Using O'Reilly's brake parts cleaner not good
NAPA AUTO PARTS IS THE WAY TO GO
You guys know if they don’t run belts it gets more hp. Cheering
Your boy should learn how to paint fasteners! It's supposed to be after a single fastener is torqued. Not after the last one is torqued, Then go wild with the paint pen.
Why are you not telling us things like compression ratio, cam lift, intake runner flow, valve size, carb size, header primary tube size, or total timing. If you're gonna tell us about an engine, then tell us about the engine in detail... Don't leave us with mystery on parts...
Its all posted on their website🤷
Why not just tell us in the video?? I mean, you are giving a description of the engine... right?? Why just give half the information?@@lit549
Don’t think I’d be buying one of these, didn’t even degree the cam in, very shabby build
After you put together 1000 of them, I don’t think they probably need to degree the cam… He probably knows exactly how to do it without a degree wheel… as you notice he’s using absolutely all of their in-house parts… These guys warranty, the hell out of any engine, they build… He doesn’t have a ton of engines sitting there for no reason Lol
@@theinvisibleman2709 a good engine man should be degreeing a cam irrespective of what or where the parts come from, how do you know they’ve been manufactured correctly, I suppose that’s what separates the good engine builder from these guys
No Dodge Magnum engines. Chevy and Ford only. Typical.
Very nice engine though.
Why the hell would you build a "480hp" stroker ? Some one explain. I'm rebuilding a 5.7 vortec and it should be in the mid 400 range for about 3g. Don't give me reliability Bull shit either,
Guy didn’t design shit
That’s a DART SHP BLOCK
CLAIM PISTONS no telling what else he’s lied about
Have the same stuff for my engine
FWIW Please do not take this the wrong way. You choice of music playing has to go it is annoying. I stopped watching as soon as it started during the time laps assembly
383’s aren’t impressive anymore 😂
So a guy walks into a bar and says he built a 480 hp 383 Chevy motor. And the first thing out of his mouth is how he used a special hd block of his own design. Typical Chevy story about something that's not what they built and the Chev fan boys get all tweeked out if they get called out on it. It's NOT a Chev and is built from all aftermarket parts because the Chev stuff ends up making vent holes in the Chev block.
You must have vibrator or Mayflower in your blood Chevy blocks don't vent
He states its a aftermarket block with modifications. So what is the problem? Sounds like wanting to just stirr the pot to get reactions. Typical
😂😂😂
Youre jealous that in the 70s-90s people were walking fords, dodges etc cause this was a bad ass engine of its time? Or trying to compare 1950s technology to something like a Coyote that was literally designed and built in the last 20 years? 😂😂😂 you make no sense.
Somebody call the wahmbulance!
Must have predegreed the cam
Some builders using the same cams from the same manufacturer dont degree the cams.
