In the 1950s world War era weapons were still the most commonplace weapons and they tend to use big powerful rounds like .45 and 30.06. Additionally, cowboy stuff was very popular in the 50s which is why cowboy guns are so common. 10mm auto would fit this trend towards larger more powerful rounds. This also helps explain why armalite rifles are so hard to come by despite being invented in the 50s: armalites are associated with the cold war era for most Americans. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
I like to think that the hei gui suits in hoover dam mean the New Plague being a leaked American bioweapon has been recanonized, just the developers never get the chance to figure out how to tell that story in the Fallout lore in the games they've had to make (time constraints, etc)
The new plague (which isn't really a topic in Fallout 4, besides MacCready quest), the war (and fear of total nuclear annihilation) and the stupidly high inflation (Astoundingly Awesome Tales did cost 29$ per magazine!) where all points that bother me with the start of Fallout 4. Nate and Nora had quite a nice house in a new neighborhood and a brand new Mr. Handy despite said inflation. No signs of uneasiness because of the plague. The visit of the Vault-Tec representative seemed more of a annoyance than everything else. It just doesn't fit together if you think a bit about it.
Honestly it kind of does fit. Have you noticed just how cheery the news reporter sounds on the TV? Obviously someone is paying him to not give the full truth. in other words the people in the neighborhood are living in denial about the problems in the world. Then bam when the bomb dropped, it shatters any form of “peace”. But yeah I wish we got a little bit more info on the pre war life(like maybe an optional quest to walk around in the neighborhood).
Oh and don’t forget Nate is a soldier and it looks like US soldiers get a lot of benefits in this universe. Plus Nora may have a decent paycheck as a lawyer. So that could explain the nice house. Still it can’t fill up the fridge(two Salisbury steaks and three Nuka Colas is a college dorm snack lol 😂) edit: and don’t forget the benefits of being a war hero(which included a spot in the vault)
Even in times of strife there will always be those either by design or just luck that aren't as affected as others. Could also be part of the fan theory that Nate was originally going to be offered a place in the Enclave for his service but then the bombs hit, but I highly doubt that one.
I'm guessing the writer for this lore suffers from "Warhammer 40k idk maths disease" where they describe a war of unseen apocalyptic scale that engulfs the entire planet with 50k soldiers on both sides...

Or maybe we could play as a Member of the U.S. Government and we could find out what they knew about the war and what the Relationship between The Government and Vault Tech was really like. I wonder if the Government knew about Vault Tech's intentions to Experiment with the People in the Vaults or if they just went Rouge and could do what they pleased with the Survivors.

@@DracoSafarius Oh yes, I know what you mean. I assumed that the was just a decaying brahim and never actually looked at it closely. But you’ve gone and gotten me curious now. I even remember thinking vaguely that it was weird because Bethesda has never really bothered with decaying bodies before. It’s either 200+ year old skeletons, skeletons with a bit of blood on them or bodies that look fresh like they’ve only been there a few days even when the lore implies it’s been weeks or months. I don’t recall the decaying Brahmin asset being used anywhere else in FO4. And my memory might be a bit off but isn’t Taffington pretty close to Med Tek? Fortunately last time I played FO4 a few weeks ago I’d made a fairly new character that I’m 80% sure hasn’t been to Taffington yet. Tomorrow I’ll play the game, load his file and have him go over and claim it as a settlement for the Minutemen. Normally I wouldn’t claim it at this point in the game, but now I’m curious and I’m going to take a closer look and see if it really does have the blue boils while I work on making the settlement livable and get the beacon going.

@@Steel-101 Yeah, more pre war stuff would have been great. It would have made the impact of the bombs bigger.
@@Steel-101I wish the game never started pre war. Fallout is about a world set after a nuclear apocalypse.
Even in times of strife there will always be those either by design or just luck that aren't as affected as others.
Could also be part of the fan theory that Nate was originally going to be offered a place in the Enclave for his service but then the bombs hit, but I highly doubt that one.
0:28 sounds familiar 🤔🤨
I hate that this has never been followed up
I love how we define plagues as something that kills thousands, instead of the millions of classic plagues.
I'm guessing the writer for this lore suffers from "Warhammer 40k idk maths disease" where they describe a war of unseen apocalyptic scale that engulfs the entire planet with 50k soldiers on both sides...
Profuse sweating ✅

Guys I think I have the New Plague
Smash.
Do you follow a set upload schedule? Sometimes YT doesn't tell me you've uploaded 😭
I don't really have a schedule, I just start a video and then post it once it's done 😅
hello synonymous Fallout lore is so rich a beautiful tapestry of paranoia Greed Arrogance Hubris poisoned dreams and innovation...Vault Tech Machiavellian machinations President Eden and the enclave Ghouls and that so sweeeet retro futurism keeps me coming back for More
Wow this seems familiar.
If we ever get another Fallout Game Id like to explore things from the Chinese Prospective. Maybe we'd finally get a concrete answer as to who sent the first Bomb Flying.
Fallout 2050s: new plague
Our world 2020s; coronavirus
they had lockdown in the fallout universe damn covid has spread everywhere
ah i just learned about fallout covid
Another great video
4 Hours?! give me sum
Why does this sound so familiar...I can't put my finger on it...
FEV is just magic. Does whatever the writers need.
Absolutely love the content as always
Always thought the new plague was just a term used to describe communism, very enlightening video
It’s been awhile since I played fallout 4 but I’m pretty sure this virus also affects Brahmin as you can find a dead one covered on blue boils
Do you remember where?
@@mikoto7693 Think the one near Taffington, but if it is that one it's almost fully blue and has open wounds. Most people seem to think that one's been sucked dry by bloodbugs and has been decaying
Hold up a second there Synonymous. This all sounds a little too familiar. DID FALLOUT PREDICT COVID19?
Nope just a coincidence lol.
They were warning us all along
The New Plague wasn't a bacteria or virus, it was paranoia.
Hello synonymous I was wondering is there any reason why you don't make challenges anymore because I didn't find anything about you saying why you stopped if it's because you don't like them anymore it's ok but I'd love it if you could make one like the good old days :)
I just sort of drifted towards lore videos, I would like to try another challenge though 😁👍
gotta love social constructs
"what if they......"
This man still hearts new comments after months later? What a man!
Hello there
I wish the New Plague was touched up on further ingame, the fact so many players lack knowledge of it is rough
So, Fallout had COVID, too
Oh man i can only guess what the reactions to the videoa gonn be. Great.
So does this mean we’re one step closer to the Great War
The new plague, was Fallout version of covid.
I had no idea there was such a disease in the game, I must have overlooked some lore or dialogue.
The story compiled behind it is really interesting and nuts! As usual for that reality aha
I Developed The Plague.
So The New Plague is just COVID?
coronavirus just went to hard mode
Sounds VERY familiar.
The background of the story sounds familiar!
Thank you.
The infectivity sounds a lot like covid.
Yesss new video!!!!
Coronavirus: Bethesda variant
