...I do think it would be really funny to do a "worst matches ever" series, where you showcase some of the silliest, most bungled matches where everything falls apart.

Was the Mothership Core that bad of a unit that it needed to be removed entirely, instead of a rework? I don’t remember anyone hating this unit to that extent.
Completely broken. This was Protoss era. Zergs were struggling.
It was not completely broken, but it was too strong. It was supposed to be a defensive unit, but was still obviously capable of joining early aggression. They added the shield batteries when they removed them in order to slow toss down early game

There was a time when protoss could tell the terran in advance that they'd go mothership core blink stalker and the terran still wouldnt be able to defend it. It was a bullshit unit.
It wasn't a balance issue as I see it, it just made for bad gameplay. It encouraged either turtling or gimmicky forms of early aggression. Gimmicky meaning it only worked cause your opponent made a mistake or else failed miserably. Its removal encouraged other early game unit interactions like the adept or oracle which are much more interesting, have a high skill ceiling, and not as binary in terms of commitment.
Pig has improved massively over the years.
I have the exact opposite feeling : I usually love his casting but that one especially fells forced. He's taking the very deep gurutal screaming voice of some other casters and it feels to me unnatural and unpleasant to listen to. flavours and colours I guess ?
@@lodremipsulm1461 I would agree. Everything that was minor in the game was just so greatly magnified to the point of just being cringe. It was like listening to a 12 year old boy play fortnite.

My God what an amazing match
I wonder if in the final engagement Stats could have had it easier by just focusing down the brood lords. Dark wouldn't have had much of a ground army to cover the warp in of Stats, the corruptors would have been deadweight
Same thing can be said about targeting the corrupters. It leaves his air free range to do more damage by focusing those. And generally Protoss air is so insane because they get so much value and you trade your ground units. Also stopping draw potential bc the broods can be chased easy if it becomes a base race, the corrupters would be too fast to chase down.
yeah it definitely would've been better if he just focused down the broodlords, with the tempests especially since that's what they're good for. corruptors are pretty useless units since they have no antiground compared to phoenixes and vikings. that being said it was 2017, plays were sloppier back then.

For an all-time great game, I would suggest 2018 WCS Global Finals, Game 4 Serral vs Rogue. Rogue had more mining and more map control for virtually the entire game, with Serral trying to grind it out with cost efficiency. Includes some of the best burrowed roaches nonsense ever seen.

I’m not sure if you are joking, but this is a collection of the best SC2 games of all time. This one being #3 in the collection.
This is a brand new series where we focus on highlighting the best matches during the 12 years of StarCraft 2 professional play.
We carefully consider the various games that are highlighted in the series, plus created custom graphics and a brand new intro.
With IEM Katowice coming up, I wanted to highlight one of the best games played at Katowice in the history of the tournament. This also serves as promotion for the tournament :D

Budget
Protoss: has the worst:
- buildings. Terran can liftoff & repair, zerg can heal and move static defense.
- mass: Terran's can build 2 at a time and Zerg can queen inject. Toss is 1 unit per production building
- detection: Terran can scan, Zerg can use any existing overlord. Toss needs to spend valuable production time to produce an observer instead of an immortal. Same for Oracle.
- capital units: Capital units of all races have same trade-off: they're slow, big, expensive, and slow to build. But Toss has additional trade-offs! Toss's best ground unit can be taken out instantly by anti-air. Carrier's although strong, are useless when their weak interceptors are destroyed
- spellcasters: Terran & Zerg have great late game casters. Toss does not.
This race is such an after-thought by Blizzard.
yea the truth becomes pretty obvious when u start looking at every single thing compared to other races. This is why zerg been dominating so much and then terrans with toss doing the worst overall at the pro level
Toss can build shield batteries and heal their buildings, terran have to spend minerals to repair and zerg takes a long ass time unless they transfuse which means energy not being used to injects or creep tumors ntm other valuable buildings and or units. Mass Toss can get an army out litterally the fastest of all races warpgate being kind of imba and such ntm the most simplistic way of getting the army into the fight the fastest and a built in recall automatically. Detection.....yeah scans which means less mules which is the only way a terran can keep up with zerg and toss economy. Zerg has to tech into using an overlord and morph time........Observers are dirt cheap and oracles have the best detection in the game and it's more valuable. Capital units.........Thors are fat and easily taken out by zealots and zerglings.......Ultralisks can be sniped and are easily countered by immortals......and colossus can climb up and down ledges giving them outright the best micro of the 3 main ground units. Toss don't have it the worst by quite a bit of degree!
As for usual, protoss face roll storms and wins. What a bad design.
This is not true, a couple of banelings on the flank can wipe them all out.
