What a great tool the drone is for you to check on the cattle and horses. Simple enough to sit on your porch and not have to physically run out there on a horse or take a vehicle out there. And the scenery you see is a bonus too!
Keep it up, Jim !! A few extra points goes a long way and pays dividends in the long run !! That's coming from someone who's been married for 55 years, and still happy !! 💞
Baron is fast catching up with Bill for height and weight. Handy things, drones. Man here in Aus got a pecan farm, uses his drone to drive away the thieving white cockatoos.
Fun video to watch. Creative. Love the diversity. Paraphrasing Forrest Gump, your videos “are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.”😊😊😊😊
Having lived on farm that drone has got to be such a time saver not to mention the peace of mind it brings beautiful acreage shots and certainly lucky to find baler with interchangeable parts yes your hard work is paying off Thank you for sharing 👍🎈
Love the new baler!!! And how Jim explained how he can reuse old parts on his new baler. Recycling at it's best. Love Brenda and how she talks to the horses..especially Bree Bree
Glad all the horse's and cow's are doing good and together. I pray the rain stops for a bit so you can get the hay picked up and round bailed. Thanks for the drone footage as beautiful Jim. God bless you Jim and Brenda..
Jim, Brenda is a beautiful wife, petite & trim; plus proficient, knowledgeable, and eager. Each time she is in front of the camera, I think she is one of your daughters.
Sorry I was trying to say what a great job getting a baler so you can use parts off the old one. As we know how expensive parts are these days. Your resourcefulness is impressive. Farm and horses look great. You both should be proud because of all of your hard work it takes to get it that way. God bless and keep safe from hot sunny Florida
On our family dairy farm prior to selling our we went from the 273- 310 baler too so nice to be able to go get the parts off the yard when stores are closed
Thank you Jim and Brenda. The horses are in great shape. You have a wonderful corn crop. You arre s lucky to get a bailer that ties good knots. I just bought a Massey Ferguuson diesel 35 tractor that looks and runs like new.❤❤😂
I couldn't help but add this comment - if Brenda and Jim had one of those smart watches it would be interesting to see how many steps per day they each took. 🤔
Just a suggestion: Use your whiteboard horizontally. Use a ruler to make your lines to keep things more even. Make the top line the date and have each horse name vertically down the left side. That might help you organize the information in a more useful format.
Beautiful drone work n hoping you baler gives you yrs of trouble free service, Horses looking great , thank u to miss Brenda your the best groomer !! 👏👏
Great to see things still going on there for shore Jim Brenda , love the Drone footage Jim , corns doing well Jim rain and that liquid fertiliser, hope you get chance to bale some hay Jim with the new baler with the wet weather ,
excellent video,,,also your front pad is beautiful with the new table for Brenda,,we didn't see that before,nice...it is amazing how your drone works for you in this way.lovely idea and worth every penny..nice..!
PG here, Loved seeing how the drone worked, A viewer sent us one a couple years ago and we still haven't used it. You make it look easy. And I noticed the picnic table looks finished laid out the rocks with gravel off the porch are very striking. Thank You.
It's like so many things in life - practice makes perfect !! It's the very first try that's intimidating, but once you've done it - it gets easier !! Promise !!
If I'm not mistaken, the plunger is the ram that packs the hay into the flakes of hay that we later peel off and feed, right? A flywheel is a spinning weight that produces torque in a machine. In the old hit and miss engines, those things sometimes weighed hundreds of pounds, and once you get one of them spinning, the engine can not fire for quite a few revolutions before the flywheel even slows down.
Your right Thirza . We had a super 66 with a Wisconsin motor on it .( now called an Amish baler) . There was a sheer bolt on the flywheel that would break if you tried to put more hay thru the plunger than what the baler could handle .Boy my mom would get so angry at dad when he would ask her to go buy more sheer bolts . To this day I do not know why . Gosh haying can be fun if you let it .
Please tell me what kind of drone you’re using. I have been wanting one for a long time and haven’t got a clue what to get. The one you have works beautifully! I admire your eclectic approach to how you manage your situation. You embrace the wonderful new tools that modern tech has come up with while simultaneously working a farm and a logging operation by traditional sensible means such as using real horse power. Some of the equipment that land owners use these days is too intrusive and the land can’t keep up with the onslaught. You have struck a beautiful balance and are maintaining it. I admire you both a great deal and I watch the videos you create in a state of awe. I truly think that this content is worthy of preserving as an educational tool and as an historical archive.
Chicory. Very common during the CW as coffee lol. We have them all over in Illinois. Cafe du Monde have them and I don't particularly cared for the taste of that kind of coffee.
Cool that you've finally found a good new baler and that the old one fits as spare part source. Looks like a perfect deal! 😊 Your corn looks so good!!! It must be the water. We have had such a dry summer. I have maybe a little less weed in it but the corn is really smaller, probably up to my shoulders 🤷♂ Wish you a great week and a little more sunny weather -Chris
A noble idea but what happens to all the hats and T shirts for sale in the merch store . Branding is very important for a product. I am sure Jim knows how important Brenda is to his channel .
Take the knotters off and store them inside with the belts since plastic will break apart in a year or two and tarps will break a year or two after that
Canabilizing that old broken baler is a noble idea until it's time to try twisting off old rusty nuts . The air would turn blue on our farm .Good luck Jim and let's hope your new baler runs great .
Jim, Brenda, So sorry i am late today. jim, nice new baler! hope to see it run soon, The horses weighing in look good to me, Jim what did you think of the horses weights? I love your farm from the air and so glad all the animals were all ok. Bree is growing so fast... Jim, Nova Scotia Canada,
Great video.if you ever get duke and earl corraled close to barn it would be nice to see there weight also.I know you were concerned about there weight and condition over winter, but they sure look good and filled out nicely from the last pictures i saw.they look like maybe there vacation is over and maybe time to work a little.stay safe from Canada.
I was guessing 1950 for Kenny. But I was wrong! It’s interesting that Baron and Bill are pretty much the same and Baron’s got a little growing to do yet.
Thanl you so much for explaining about the balers (new and old!) I will probably need to buy one eventually, most people around here make the big round bales now, but I want small square bales. They say they have too much trouble with the knotters and don't want to bother with them
I really enjoy the channel! I worked on a farm as a young kid that used horses for field work. . Do you ever go to the fair in Fryburge Maine or Deerfield NH?
jim, just curious if you ever opened up the drainage back up to the pond as you had it blocked off to stop water from going into the pond so you could clean it out, that may be why your field is so wet if you haven't opened it back up!
Bill and Ken would be in a heavy horse pull class if it was a 3200 and under and a 3200 and over. :). Do use cell any of the corn? Amazing footage of your farm. Such a beatiful view.
I can't even take care of the fields I have. Years ago, I did turn woodland into a field- where the cattle and horses were during the drone footage. It's a lot of work!
Drones have really changed farming forever.
A Field of Dreams moment as Jim disappears in the corn 🤣

My husband and would like to tell you guys that we so enjoy your shows. You both are sweet people.
Yes! Brenda is a beautiful wife!! 😊 So cool to see how you operate your drone!! I'm glad the animals are all safe. Fun video to watch!
The horses are looking mighty fine! Your drone is a handy modern tool for checking on your horses and cows...and I enjoy "flying" over your farm!
Jim, that was very sweet at what you said to Benda❤
Keep it up, Jim !! A few extra points goes a long way and pays dividends in the long run !! That's coming from someone who's been married for 55 years, and still happy !! 💞

Love your videos .Never realized how helpful a Drone is to farmer - a real timesaver!
Thank you Brenda for asking Jim the questions about the baler . The horses look good and healthy . Bree is getting so big !
no more questions please.
More rain; do not let it get you down. It is better that a drought. I know it makes things difficult for you to plan work. Take care!
Thanks for the encouragement!
The drone makes it feel like I'm right there, I had to blink a couple of times at the end of the video to remember I'm at home

Wow, it's not very often one gets a few minutes to relax on a farm. I hope you both enjoyed it.
Wow, good thing my mother didn't have a drone when I was growing up. She would have seen what I was up to... which I wasn't supposed to be up to.
Great drone shots! ❤
The horses are looking fantastic and all looks well on the farm.....a happy home ❤
It’s nice seeing the horses and cows out at the pasture.
Brenda, you are a special person, I enjoy what you do
I’ve said it before but Baron is such a gorgeous horse. I hope Bree takes after him.
Having the drone saves lots of time for you, hope your new bailer works well for you
Good job the horses in the cattle look very good in their pastures

Good operating of the drone Jim and what nice corn after all those early weeds. Thank you for sharing. Abby’s house looks better since yard clean up.🐴

Hey y'all. I think Ken was leaning his left hip on the side of the scale a bit. All your horses are so well kept it is a pleasure to watch them.
new bailer to you looks very nice. wow the drone can go a ways under control
Thanks, yes it can!
And the bee says Hello!

Good to purchase a baler with one for spare parts. Drone footage is always great you have a beautiful farm.
Great video Jim and Brenda
Next time you clean the sawdust from your mill put some on the puddles of water in your year

Thanks 👍

The life of a modern day farmer. Sending up a drone rather than walking the fields or jumping on a horse, or 4-wheeler.

Good for you! I believe in recycling as well.
Jim, you’re a pro with that drone; how convenient. Brenda, what were those blue flowers? So pretty.😊❤
I think they are called Chickoree, they are basically weeds but their flowers are so pretty. Each flower lasts for only about 1 day.
