There is one aspect about the John Wick movies that makes them iconic for me. Keanu Reeves actually trains and practices with his firearms in the exact same manner that is portrayed in these movies. This is not just acting. This is skill. Honed skill
John Wick teaches us simple lessons 1. Don't steal other people's property 2. Be kind to people and animals 3. Be mindful of the rules 4. It is said that the pen is mightier than the sword, but also watch out for pencils
Jay, good call on Charon (the Concierge) being a "gatekeeper". In Greek mythology, Charon was the ferryman who guided the souls of the departed across the river Styx into Hades (the Underworld). As the Concierge of the Continental, Charon serves to "ferry" the guests from the outside world to the "underworld" of the Continental.
It shows you how far he's come since Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Also you know he's a sincere man. He is so humble and kind to everyone that you wouldn't think there's a movie star he treats everybody
I agree. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is one of my favorite movies. Great comedy plus George Carlin personally I don't think you can lose with that.
An important thing to note is how hard it is to film scenes with that many mirrors. It has to be carefully done and planned because there is a huge risk of the cameras and their operators showing up in reflections. The cinematographer did an amazing job on that fight scene.
I love the John Wick movies, each one is better than the last which is a rare phenomenon. You'll love 'Kingsman' I would love to see you react to that movie.
Lets Go!!! Been waiting for you guys to continue the John Wick franchise. Glad you guys are enjoying yourselves with these movies and I hope there isn't too much of a delay between the rest of the movies. Anyways hope you guys have a good one, love, peace and chicken grease ❤
The shotgun John Wick used in the catacomb scene is a Benelli M4 semi-auto 12 gauge tactical shotgun, which is a favorite of many military and law enforcement branches as well as a great firearm for home defense. They hold 2 more shells than traditional pump action shotguns and it's one of the most reliable firearms ever made
The bad guy in this is the bad guy on Fargo that doesn’t speak. He also plays the devil in Constantine (which you guys need to watch this spooky season) - which also has Keanu Reeves as well. You’ll like it.
Because my man is also Canadian; He was inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame in 2021, with his fellow Canadian from the "Matrix Franchise" Carrie Ann Moss" (Trinity). He was also a really good goalie in Canada, and dreamed of playing for the Canadian National Team. You want to see him in a great romantic role, check out"My Sweet November", or "The Boathouse ". Another good fast paced classic is "Point Break ". Canadian Grandma. Lori. C.
Ian McShane who plays Winston is one of my favorite actors of all time. His debut was 1962 in a movie that he got the part for because he skipped out of his classes at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts to audition. He was on his way. He has played villains exceptionally well. One of the most infamous villains he played was in the Franco Zeffirelli mini series "Jesus of Nazareth" 1980. He played "Judas". He has always played crafty, intelligent, charismatic, mystical characters. Yes, he was able to even pull off "Black Beard" The pirate, in one of Johnny Depp's "Pirates of the Carribean" movies. The point is; Is that this man has been performing great roles for 60 years, and has one of the most identifiable voices in the business. Check out his catalog of work. One of the greatest who worked with many of the greats in the Cinematic Arts. Canadian Grandma Lori.C.
You guys did notice Laurence Fishburne from the Matrix, but you didn't realize Keanu was also in it, and that scene was the first time both actors are meeting face to facec since the Matrix. Very cool.
In their reaction to the first John Wick, Jay & Amber mentioned Keanu playing Neo several times. In fact, Jay explains which of the 2 characters he prefers. 🫠
Technical note: the shotgun John Wick used in the catacombs is a Benelli semi-automatic 12-gauge. That exact shotgun is used by the U.S. Marine Corps. Most of a team will have rifles, but for urban fights they may have one or two people with shotguns, as well as having one with a larger-caliber longer-range rifle with a better scope on it, as well as having a sniper team up high somewhere nearby watching over them and their route. There are YT videos of Keanu Reeves training for this role, both in shooting and in martial arts. He works extremely hard at it, and he actually is as good a shot as John Wick is. He also does almost all his own stunts. Now add the fact that he's 59 years old. He's amazing. And in person, he's always doing something good for someone - there's a subway security camera video of him on a train, with nobody noticing who he was, standing up to give his seat to a woman who needed to sit down; he wanted to thank the stunt men after the first John Wick movie, so he bought them all Harley-Davidsons. He gives a tremendous amount to a whole range of charities, and for a while he put his career on hold to take care of his sister when she was sick with leukemia (she recovered.) He not only took care of her, he paid for research on the disease. He's the kind of guy I think most of us who have daughters would love to see our young women bring home to meet us.
Another movie to get a vote in for, which you two should like as well and has an somewhat secret society hint, "Nobody" Halloween just around the corner, might be time to get started on the Underworld series too. Love you guys
The John Wick films, they just continue to out-do each and every previous sequel in the franchise. These movies are such a damn good time and absolutely outrageous in how they continue to raise the bar.
I like that John chose to leave the knife in Common's heart because he was only trying to kill him because it's his job and he is honorable, but he chooses to pull it out of Ruby Rose's heart because she is dishonorable.
46:10 it’s funny you call him a gatekeeper cause of what his name is in this series. His name is Charon who’s a gatekeeper & ferryman for Hades. I seriously think that either Winston had unofficially adopted John as a son or he is John’s father but doesn’t tell him.
Common is actually a pretty good actor. He had a major role in the HBO series "Hell on Wheels" about the building of the first intercontinental railroad to connect the east to the west. And in the tunnels what John is doing is called 3 gun. There are tournaments where the shooter has to show skill in all phases handgun, rifle and shotgun against inanimate targets obviously. But it's all about accuracy and speed. There are youtube videos of Keanu Reeves running 3 gun courses with live ammo and the man is pretty damn good in real life too.
The Bowery (Lawrence Fishbourne's faction) is the underworld of the underworld. There are all sorts of different factions out there but they all answer to the High Table. The lore of the John Wick movies is so interesting.
The man at the hotel check in is Lance Reddick was a very good actor. Sadly he recently passed away this past winter. He was only 60 years old. He is totally awesome in JohnWickIII.
Keanu trained so much with his gun that he developed a new technique for a faster reload that the person that was training him how to use the weapons is now teaching it to all his students as well as sharing the technique with gun experts and they are all amazing at how much more effective it is than what they knew before. You can see the technique being used in movies 2,3 and 4
I'm going to assume you're talking about the "mag flip" and with just a little bit of looking online, that's absolutely false... It is definitely something that was, most likely, shown to Keanu at Taran Tactical, and given what a recent JRE interview with Chad Stahelski, Keanu probably did it a few times on set and it was enjoyed by everyone... Not something invented by Keanu, as there are many videos that pre-date Keanus training for the John Wick series that demonstrate the idea. As an example, it's even been meme'd; You can look up "Dynamic Pie Concepts - Art of the Mag Flip" for a parody video that makes fun of the idea of the magflip, since for a little while there, it was "buzzworthy" type training lesson, that a lot of people found funny.
The organization is called "The High Table" and all the assassins serve for the table. Edit: they are in Rome in the underground tunnel scene. You can visit the Coliseum even today. Not sure if they allow you underground though.
You guys kill me....😂😂😂 Just remember everyone in these movies went home at the end of the day. It just a movie. Lol In John Wicks defense, not that he needs any. 😅 He never hits an innocent bystander, nor does he leave anyone behind to come get him later. He is truly focused, determined, and demonstrates remarkable will! I love John Wick. You guys are gonna plot when you see, John Wick Parabellum and 4. They just keep getting better and better. I read yesterday there might be a John Wick 5!!!😅 God bless ✌️✌️ & ❤❤
I love all the scenes with Common and John Wick! And, of course, the pencil scene. You'll love the 3rd John Wick, which brings in Halle Berry and some very well trained dogs.
Love your reactions to the Wick movies! The most amazing thing they add for me is the fact that John actually reloads his guns and they count the bullets accurately during his fights. In every other action movie the protagonist gets to have unlimited bullets in his gun. So unrealistic :(
This movie is really what started the whole John Wick thing: killing someone he kinda shouldn’t have killed on grounds he DEFINITELY shouldn’t….. John Wick 3 is all about dealing with the outcomes of that, and John Wick 4 is all about ending it once and for all….. all are great movies, and I’m sure you’ll love ‘em all Btw, nobody beats Keanu Reeves in ANYTHING….. he’s the best
Another movie you should check out is Nobody. It's kind of a grittier version of John Wick. A man with a past and an unstoppable killing machine. There is another that just came out, still in theaters, The Retirement Plan. Take both the other movies and make that guy a senior citizen protecting his grand daughter. All of them the action is so incredible.
🎃Halloween Wish List -The Crow 1994 -Rosemary's Baby 1968 -Carrie 1976 -The Omen 1976 -An American Werewolf in London 1981 -The People Under the Stairs 1991 -Interview with the Vampire 1994 -Let Me In 2010 -Thanks!!!
Lawrence Fishburne. Yes, he’s Morpheus in the Matrix trilogy, but he’s also well-known for Ike Turner in What’s Love Got To Do With It (Tina Turner biopic) and Cuba Gooding Jr’s dad in Boyz in the Hood. Love him as an actor. Lots of great performances from him. Side note before I get yelled at, yes, he was also in Captain Kangaroo waaay back when.
Remember what Winston warned John of."if you dip so much as a pinky back in this pond. You may well find something reaches out and drags you back in" Common is a good actor Hell on Wheels was some of his best work
25:00 Gianna's coronation party at D'Antonio Estate ruins and catacombs was filmed in the Baths of Caracalla, the nearly 1,800 years old Roman public baths. per the interwebs.
I like to see a reaction on the movie Black Hawk Down. It's the 30th anniversary of the Battle of Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down) on Tuesday. Oct. 3rd. One of the best war movies made, based on first hand accounts by a captured Pilot Michael Durant.
It shows you the level of commitment that Keanu Reeves has. I recommend tha t you can see the behind the movie e is also shows him trains so hard so he can do his own stunts .
38:15 - I saw this in the theater when it came out. I was bouncing in my seat with excitement as I'd JUST gotten a Kimber 1911 in 45ACP that same week.
Halloween is coming! Time to watch The Crow, with Brandon Lee. He's Bruce Lee's son, and has a tragic story. I don't have the heart to go into it. But I watch the Crow every Halloween season. Not a show for kids, though.
Yes,based on the Graphic Novel/Comic Book of the same name. Not only an excellent Movie but has a Soundtrack to match, as well as a Great supporting cast.
How about occasionally: Female Film Friday 1. CHER = MASK, her son is born with a birth defect and how they handle it and Sam Elliot your sexy voiced guy is in it and he has a bigger role in this one!! 2. BETTE MIDLER = BEACHES, story of a lifelong friendship and the ups and downs, plus beautiful songs by Bette 3. BARBRA STREISAND = A STAR IS BORN or The Way We Were or The Mirror Has Two Faces. Please???!!!! Also MASK has a great soundtrack!!
The shotgun is a Benelli M4 using 12-gauge solid steel slugs (armor piercing). The rifle before that was an modified AR variant with steel receiver instead of aluminum for less chance of failure in high fire combat situations, chambered in 7.62.
I think you guys should watch the Kingsman. It's one of my favorite action movies with some comedic moments here and there and I feel like you guys would really enjoy it
Maybe it was said already.. The actor Lance Reddick, who plays Charon, the man running the front desk of the hotel, passed away in March of this year. 🙁
Incase someone didn’t already say it the man at the front desk is lance reddick. He unfortunately passed away before John wick 4 released. Many Also believe his character is like Charon from mythology. He is the boatman who ferries the souls of the dead across the waters of Hades to the judgement which will determine their final resting place.
I love this reaction chanell coz you can see them really immersing in the story telling and enjoy it... unlike some other reaction chanell where I be seeing reactors just react for the sake of it and not even focusing on the movie and going on long long rants
One of the best features of these films is the incredible world-building. The whole underground network of assassins and criminal enterprises is just outstandingly developed and so intricate.
The shotgun he used in the tunnel is the Benelli M4 semi automatic shotgun. It's on my list to buy. I've also got a Kel Tec KSG, which is the shotgun John uses in the first one. If y'all come back to Texas, we can go to the range.
The director of these movies was Brandon Lee's body double in The Crow after he passed. It was where he fell in love with fight choreography. That's a movie you NEED NEED NEED to see, ASAP!! And it's Halloween appropriate!!
The mirror sequence was definitely giving Enter the Dragon vibes. Can’t wait for you to continue the John Wick franchise and please go back and finish the Matrix as well. Throw in the Lakehouse for Amber 😊 still Keanu.
Old boy was never gonna leave the hotel. He's safe and can send more people after John constantly. Eventually, wearing him down to exhaustion. Killing him ends it on John's terms.
There is one aspect about the John Wick movies that makes them iconic for me. Keanu Reeves actually trains and practices with his firearms in the exact same manner that is portrayed in these movies. This is not just acting. This is skill. Honed skill
Just as he did with the Matrix 💯💯💯
That, and he does almost all his own stunts. He's just super talented.
NO doubt, I'm convinced Keanu Reeves could kick some ASS if here weren't such a gentle soul in real life, lol
Was sad that Chow Yun Fat never made it into this franchise. The Gun Fu would've been outstanding.
he trained the martial arts the same way. His judo and jiu jitsu skills are good!
Don’t tug on Superman’s cape, don’t spit into the wind, don’t pull the mask off the ole Lone Ranger and just leave John Wick alone.
Ands never touch his dog
Most importantly don’t new with the USMC/don’t pet a burning dog/ let a sleeping dog lie.
Ha, ha, very fitting! 🔥🔥❤️❤️
"Yah, here come the gravediggaz "
Jim Croce reference!! Love it
John Wick teaches us simple lessons
1. Don't steal other people's property
2. Be kind to people and animals
3. Be mindful of the rules
4. It is said that the pen is mightier than the sword, but also watch out for pencils
Here's another lesson, never exploit the rules for the sake of p*ssing someone off (unless this is covered in lessons 2 and 3).
Charon, The Maitre D passed away this year he will be missed, RIP Lance Riddick
Jay, good call on Charon (the Concierge) being a "gatekeeper". In Greek mythology, Charon was the ferryman who guided the souls of the departed across the river Styx into Hades (the Underworld). As the Concierge of the Continental, Charon serves to "ferry" the guests from the outside world to the "underworld" of the Continental.
Okay guys. Not going to ruin anything for you, but...... Do not wait too long to watch chapter 3. Also remember where this one left off. Enjoy!!!
I can already think of a couple scenes where Amber will be covering her eyes
@@chynne33 Yeah...LOL. Ambers in for a rough ride.
@@chynne33🤭🤣
I love the fact that he does 99% of his own stunts.
It shows you how far he's come since Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Also you know he's a sincere man. He is so humble and kind to everyone that you wouldn't think there's a movie star he treats everybody
I love time travel movies so Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure is my guilty pleasure movie.
I agree. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is one of my favorite movies. Great comedy plus George Carlin personally I don't think you can lose with that.
Can you believe that Keanu Reeves will be 60? And still moves like this!
Rest in Peace Lance Reddick
You guys need to watch the Jason Bourne series with Matt Damon, plus the Equalizer series with Denzel Washington.
I agree, if you honor the John wick franchise you must include Bourne and equalizer movies too cause equalizer movies are cool too!
Totally agree, wish more reactors would react to Jason Bourne films.
Peter Stormare is a great character actor . His brief role as Abram Tarasov was superb
He's spectacular as Lucifer in "Constantine ", but yes he's great in everything he's in
Loved him in 8mm and Big Lebowski.
He’s great in the movie “Fargo” too! It’s funky that he and the actor who played his brother in the 1st John Wick, Michael Nyqvist, are both Swedish!
Smartest guy in the movie. When John Wick offers you peace, you take it.
@@Tony-B23 Loved his character of Lev Andropov in Armageddón
An important thing to note is how hard it is to film scenes with that many mirrors. It has to be carefully done and planned because there is a huge risk of the cameras and their operators showing up in reflections. The cinematographer did an amazing job on that fight scene.
The John Wick franchise is fantastic 😀
I love the John Wick movies, each one is better than the last which is a rare phenomenon.
You'll love 'Kingsman' I would love to see you react to that movie.
RIP Pee Wee Herman, one of Laurence Fishburnes (Morpheus) first jobs was as a cowboy on Pee Wees Playhouse ❤❤
I can’t believe I didn’t see it before!!
To quote a famous watch ad . John Wick takes a licking and he keeps on ticking
His ability to take damage is somewhere between Ash Williams (Evil Dead franchise) and Wolverine. Maybe even Deadpool. 😂
Lets Go!!! Been waiting for you guys to continue the John Wick franchise. Glad you guys are enjoying yourselves with these movies and I hope there isn't too much of a delay between the rest of the movies. Anyways hope you guys have a good one, love, peace and chicken grease ❤
The Last Boy Scout and True Lies are fun action movies. Hopefully, you will give them a chance one day. Love John Wick franchise.
Wow I can't believe they haven't watched True Lies yet... a must see for sure
The Last Boy Scout is so underrated. True Lies is a 10/10 for me, great action movie!
@lpnkorn15 agreed. So funny and believable action on The Last Boy Scout.
The shotgun John Wick used in the catacomb scene is a Benelli M4 semi-auto 12 gauge tactical shotgun, which is a favorite of many military and law enforcement branches as well as a great firearm for home defense. John wick is AWESOME !
The bad guy in this is the bad guy on Fargo that doesn’t speak. He also plays the devil in Constantine (which you guys need to watch this spooky season) - which also has Keanu Reeves as well. You’ll like it.
OMG him as Lucifer is the coolest thing 😂😂
You mean Peter Stormare, who's in the movie for less than 10 minutes?
@@Pink.andahalf yes, they said they recognized him from somewhere they just couldn’t remember where…probably from Fargo.
Yes, Constantine is awesome, just watched it again for like the fifth time, so awesome!🔥🔥
The film takes place one week after the events of the first film.

There are now 4 John Wick movies and they all flow through as one story. There’s some clever one liners and brilliant fight scenes in all of them.

How about occasionally:
Female Film Friday
1. CHER = MASK, her son is born with a birth defect and how they handle it and Sam Elliot your sexy voiced guy is in it and he has a bigger role in this one!!
2. BETTE MIDLER = BEACHES, story of a lifelong friendship and the ups and downs, plus beautiful songs by Bette
3. BARBRA STREISAND = A STAR IS BORN or The Way We Were or The Mirror Has Two Faces.
Please???!!!!
Also MASK has a great soundtrack!!
@25:28 That is the Benelli M4, retails for about $1800 with a standard stock and no slip grip. The first rule of assassination... kill the assassin.
It's one of my favorite action movies with some comedic moments here and there and I feel like you guys would really enjoy it
There is a John Wick 4. The entire franchise is fire so don't wait too long to watch the next 2.
Love and peace you two.
so cool too see Neo and Morpheus together again
Maybe it was said already.. The actor Lance Reddick, who plays Charon, the man running the front desk of the hotel, passed away in March of this year. 🙁
I love the introduction where she says well we have a chapter two so I don't imagine he will gardening.
Yeah!! Looks like a Good Friday night!! 😊❤
This is the best one!
Thank you lovely family for your reaction. Loved it.
The director of these movies was Brandon Lee's body double in The Crow after he passed. It was where he fell in love with fight choreography. That's a movie you NEED NEED NEED to see, ASAP!! And it's Halloween appropriate!!
Amber, "Gotta love a bald head."
Jay kinda laughs and looks over.
😁❤
45:41 All the drama going forward stemmed from that one headshot. Y’all are in for quite the thrill ride
Great movie, I was ready for Austin Powers 2!!
Love them all! Thank you for your pics.
The mirror sequence was definitely giving Enter the Dragon vibes. Can’t wait for you to continue the John Wick franchise and please go back and finish the Matrix as well. Throw in the Lakehouse for Amber 😊 still Keanu.
Glad to see that you are giving more time to your reactions. Much better.
Old boy was never gonna leave the hotel. He's safe and can send more people after John constantly. Eventually, wearing him down to exhaustion. Killing him ends it on John's terms.
U have to watch the "Blade" series with Wesley snipes. Great fight scenes
Patiently waiting for John wick 3 reaction. 🥴
