Keanu had been doing all the training for these movies since the beginning, but it was awesome to see Halle Barry also put in the work for this one. You can see videos of her on TH-cam practicing her shooting and helping train the dogs so they'd work with her on set during her scenes. Gotta respect action stars that do their own stuntwork.

I don't think Winston thinks even John can take whole Higher Table out, and continental can't exist without HT approvement, so I think he actually wanted to kill John. That's why he says "Baba Yaga", when he finds out there's no body there. I mean if he wanted John to live, he would make sure there's someone there to help, and then he wouldn't have to be surprised that John is gone. And trailers today often are misleading or contain gals scenes, so until I see John and Winston as friends again in the movie, I'll still think he did try to get rid of John.
Yeah, you have to consider that Winston knows exactly what is on the other side of that wall. He knows exactly what John is capable of. And he knows exactly what the suit that John is wearing is capable of. That said, it was still a risk to John’s life. And it was a risk that Winston believed was worth taking.

Winston knew what he was doing when he shot at John, which is why he shot at John's suit (bulletproof) instead of shooting him in the head (something we know they do when they want to kill someone). Bowery King, John and Winston will be dealing with the High Table in Ch 4 considering they're really on the same side. Yes, the shootout with the dogs is my favorite action sequence in the film. Also, the assassins were genuinely fans of John and they had a chance to fight him. At the same time, people don't survive when they do fight against him so the swordsmen were like, we'll step away if we can get out this fight alive.

Halle spent like 6 months training the dogs. They only listen to her. She gave a 1000% to do this part. Aswome woman, Keana Reeves is one if the unsung actors of all time. I think there is no one that surpasses him.

The scene where he puts together the gun from scratch is a wink and a nod to "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" where Tuco (the "Ugly" of the movie) does the same thing. As John goes through the various levels of the Continental, it's a call back to "Game of Death" with Bruce Lee. A similar homage was paid to "Enter the Dragon", also with Bruce Lee, in the hall of mirrors scene in the second movie.
Halle went thru almost a year of fight and dog training for this movie. She just had to remind us one time why shes Halle Berry. Winston knew the John was wearing the bullet proof suit. And wouldnt die. Hes been playing chess on everyone since part 1. Everytime John says i need lots of guns. Its a Matrix reference i love that keanu and Larry fishburne gets to do that nod matrix lol

I don't know about the rest of y'all but I've always known that Winston and John were in sync. The fact that Winston could've easily given a head shot caught my attention; of course, Charon saying "Well played, Sir" was when it became obvious.

I was a HUGE fan of Halle at the start of her career, not so much in the middle, but in recent years, she has for sure gotten back on my good side. She was for sure the highlight of this film for me, and with those dogs, they were all next level. The stunt team deserves extra credit for this one.
It's important to remember when the adjudicator asks to see the body, he'd only been dead for at most 2 hours. This movie started exactly at the end of the last one. Edit: Also the reason why he cauterized his finger after John cut it off was so that he couldn't reattach it. The finger represented his attachment to his wife and was part of the sacrifice.

The dogs are Belgian Malinois - they look a lot like Shepherds, but they're more lightly built, faster, and in some ways easier to work with. When they train them, they sometimes teach them their commands in foreign languages, then teach their dog handlers those commands, so that if they come up against some rando that person can't confuse the dog by having it get commands it's trained to obey from the wrong person.

Winston is John's old friend. Notice Winston has been helping him the entire time. Winston's never had a hit on John, the high table did and Winston had to give the illusion of cooperation. Winston shot him so the high table would think John was dead.

The dogs are the MVPs of this movie :) They're Belgian Malinois's (MAL-In-Wah) and EXTREMELY well trained :) Super high energy, need alot of space and mental stimulation. Along with lots of socialization as they're fiercely protective and territorial. Beautiful dogs 🥰💘🐶

They're very active and intelligent dogs, which means that they really need a job to burn off their energy - such as agility training or protection detail - or else they'll turn their energies on the contents of a house and wreck everything. 🙂 26:45 This scene was actually improvised by Marc Dacasos. Both Keanu and the director decided to go with it, since it went so well with the movie.
Marc Dacascos is such a bad-ass. I'm never disappointed when I see him in a movie. And yes, even in "Double Dragon" he was great. His fight scenes in "Brotherhood Of The Wolf" were phenomenal.

With the level of professional training they received, it's best to consider them as pair of furry guns, because they really are weapons if they have to be. As for the end, you're right, John didn't kill Winston, so he didn't have his excommunicado reversed. However, Winston blew him off the roof and then his body disappeared, so they don't know if he's dead or alive. So, they may not be after him so much as checking every shadow for the rest of their lives to make sure he's not lurking there waiting to kill them. That's why Winston said, "Babayaga," at the end...the boogeyman.

I love how the final conversation between John Wick and the villain is almost exactly -- "Hey John - would you say I was a good opponent?" "..Yeah." "..Nice!" With that, I genuinely love that they got some top-tier martial artists for this movie, and Keanu is actually convincing when holding his own against them. In case you didn't hear, John Wick 4 Co-Stars Donnie Yen, most known for the Ip Man series, as well as XXX3 and Rogue One.
Halle trained with Keanu and his trainers to learn how to fight and shoot so that her skills looked on par with John Wick's. It paid off because she looked awesome in this movie.
In the original John Wick, he was on offense. In 2 and 3, he was constantly on defense. He broke his word to kill Winston, so there's still a massive price on his head, but in 4 I guarantee he's sick of being on defense. He's going on offense and going after the whole High Table. I feel like most of the other assassins respected John because he got out of the game, then came back and defied the game. All while knowing the consequences of his actions. The same was with Halle’s character. She had to uphold the rules of the marker; but, there would be consequences if she did. Especially; since John was excommunicated at the time. The parallels to the real game are so significant, and why I feel like this hits home for most people
The thing about markers is that they are personal, and must be honored regardless of consequences. The High Table enforces the rules of the marker even if they aren't in their own best interest.

Hey guys, Merry Christmas. This was an epic chapter of John Wick. I have two movies to recommend that are totally different but equally amazing experiences. More for your own personal enjoyment than a reaction but it is up to you. Here they are and enjoy them. Cinema Paradiso (Italian with English subtitles) 1990 ; Theatrical version is better than director cut. Simon Birch 1998. (Jim Carrey cameo)
My take is that Winston did that knowing that John had a bulletproof vest on and would survive the fall. I think Winston and Lance Reddick's Charon are going to fight the High Table from the inside and Laurence Fishburn's character (The Bowry King), John Wick, and Halle Berry's Sofia will all be rising up in revolution against The High Table in John Wick 4.
As one other commented, Belgian Malinois are the breed of dog you see. Kin to German Shephards. They are often used by law enforcement and security forces around the globe. Highly agile and respond well to training for intense situations. You can find lots of videos both of their agility stunts and training for law enforcement/anti-terrorism/security duties online. Basically a fur-missile you do not want to be on the wrong side of.
The building was deconsecrated.... Means it's no more sacred ground. That's what they do when they are going to knock down a church. Temple. Or sacred grounds. Meaning anything goes...
Best thing about this is Keanu trained thousands of hour of gun training. stunt work, and close combat fighting to play the role, but Halle Berry also participated in the same training to play her role!

John Wick 4 is the ultimate action movie! I never thought I'd love this series as much as I do now! I think they need an Oscar category for best stunts!
The Bowery King's punishment was 7 lashes, not death. The adjudicator renegotiates with Winston after seeing John & them winning, to save her own a__ & to get rid of John. Winston had no other choice but to look like he wanted to kill John. He knew shooting him in the bullet proof vest was the best shot for them both to survive this. Winston saying Bobyaga confirms his gamble. Now that doesn't mean John wont still go after him, but I think John will spare him in Chapter 4.
Consecrated mean to make holy or pure, so by changing the Continental to "deconsecrated" it means that the hotel is no longer off limits or neutral ground. It's like any other place.
All the questions you’re asking about whether or not “He Who Is Above the Table” and Winston, and the King, and the Adjudicator… and what’s going to happen next -- these are all questions I’ve been asking since the dang 3rd chapter came out in 2019. CANNOT WAIT UNTIL 2023.
The jist of the ending: John Wick and Winston both decided to rebel against the entire system. Winston knew that he couldn't fight forever like John Wick could, so he used Wick as leverage to get back into his seat of power. He didn't want to kill Wick, since they are friends, but the adjudicator forced his hand by asking what they were going to do about him. So Winston shot Wick in his body armor before the adjudicator could order him to. So Winston appeared to be loyal to the adjudicator without suffering any consequences for not killing Wick. He played both sides exactly perfectly.
A great reaction. The word reconsecrated means, to make a place Holy again after it lost its Holy status. I think you're looking at Winston through to small a lens. Did he try to kill John at the end? He has several seconds where he could've put a round through John's head. Why doesn't he? Maybe he is just trying to LOOK like he tried to kill John. The scene where he puts together the gun from scratch is a wink and a nod to "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" where Tuco (the "Ugly" of the movie) does the same thing. As John goes through the various levels of the Continental, it's a call back to "Game of Death" with Bruce Lee. A similar homage was paid to "Enter the Dragon", also with Bruce Lee, in the hall of mirrors scene in the second movie.
Halle went thru almost a year of fight and dog training for this movie. She just had to remind us one time why shes Halle Berry.
Winston knew the John was wearing the bullet proof suit. And wouldnt die. Hes been playing chess on everyone since part 1. Everytime John says i need lots of guns. Its a Matrix reference i love that keanu and Larry fishburne gets to do that nod matrix lol

I don't know about the rest of y'all but I've always known that Winston and John were in sync. The fact that Winston could've easily given a head shot caught my attention; of course, Charon saying "Well played, Sir" was when it became obvious.
No one in this movie shoots at Johns head, friend or enemy, because that would obviously killed him on the spot, and creators actually said it, that's just a plot armor. So the fact that Winston didn't shoot him in the head means nothing.
The "well played" line might just mean that he found a way out of this situation, and by that I mean he got rid of John and kept hist hotel, which would be taken away from him otherwise. I don't think Winston thinks even John can take whole Higher Table out, and continental can't exist without HT approvement, so I think he actually wanted to kill John. That's why he says "Baba Yaga", when he finds out there's no body there.

I was a HUGE fan of Halle at the start of her career, not so much in the middle, but in recent years, she has for sure gotten back on my good side. She was for sure the highlight of this film for me, and with those dogs, they were all next level. The stunt team deserves extra credit for this one.
I wish Halle's character was given a spin-off! That would be fire!

It's important to remember when the adjudicator asks to see the body, he'd only been dead for at most 2 hours. This movie started exactly at the end of the last one.
Edit: Also the reason why he cauterized his finger after John cut it off was so that he couldn't reattach it. The finger represented his attachment to his wife and was part of the sacrifice.

The dogs are Belgian Malinois - they look a lot like Shepherds, but they're more lightly built, faster, and in some ways easier to work with. When they train them, they sometimes teach them their commands in foreign languages, then teach their dog handlers those commands, so that if they come up against some rando that person can't confuse the dog by having it get commands it's trained to obey from the wrong person.

Winston is John's old friend. Notice Winston has been helping him the entire time. Winston's never had a hit on John, the high table did and Winston had to give the illusion of cooperation. Winston shot him so the high table would think John was dead.
Keanu puts the work in and deserves to get acknowledged by Hollywood for how good he is.
Arguably the finest action movies ever made. And the fact that Keanu Reeves (and Halle Berry in this one) actually did a lot of training really helps to sell the story.

Marc Dacascos is such a bad-ass. I'm never disappointed when I see him in a movie. And yes, even in "Double Dragon" he was great. His fight scenes in "Brotherhood Of The Wolf" were phenomenal.

I love how Asia be over analyzing what's going on😂😂😂 I think Winston knew John Wick would survive. He didn't shoot him in any major organs. He just got mostly broken bones.
The dogs were Belgian Malinois. They trained with Halle Berry to follow her every command. With the level of professional training they received, it's best to consider them as pair of furry guns, because they really are weapons if they have to be.
As for the end, you're right, John didn't kill Winston, so he didn't have his excommunicado reversed. However, Winston blew him off the roof and then his body disappeared, so they don't know if he's dead or alive. So, they may not be after him so much as checking every shadow for the rest of their lives to make sure he's not lurking there waiting to kill them. That's why Winston said, "Babayaga," at the end...the boogeyman.

With that, I genuinely love that they got some top-tier martial artists for this movie, and Keanu is actually convincing when holding his own against them. In case you didn't hear, John Wick 4 Co-Stars Donnie Yen, most known for the Ip Man series, as well as XXX3 and Rogue One.
Halle trained with Keanu and his trainers to learn how to fight and shoot so that her skills looked on par with John Wick's. It paid off because she looked awesome in this movie.

In the original John Wick, he was on offense. In 2 and 3, he was constantly on defense. He broke his word to kill Winston, so there's still a massive price on his head, but in 4 I guarantee he's sick of being on defense. He's going on offense and going after the whole High Table. He won't have to worry about a price on his head if he brings the entire empire down around their ears. Btw, I love your reviews, especially the ones for John Wick. Your comments are hilarious.
Howdy folks 😀 my wife and I are new to reaction videos. We are now fans of ya'lls. Anyway I watched you John Wick 3 and needed to give you a hint about Winston shooting John. If you notice he ony shot at John's bullet proof jacket. He knew what he was doing.
I feel like most of the other assassins respected John because he got out of the game, then came back and defied the game. All while knowing the consequences of his actions. The same was with Halle’s character. She had to uphold the rules of the marker; but, there would be consequences if she did. Especially; since John was excommunicated at the time. The parallels to the real game are so significant, and why I feel like this hits home for most people
The thing about markers is that they are personal, and must be honored regardless of consequences. The High Table enforces the rules of the marker even if they aren't in their own best interest.

Hey guys, Merry Christmas. This was an epic chapter of John Wick. I have two movies to recommend that are totally different but equally amazing experiences. More for your own personal enjoyment than a reaction but it is up to you. Here they are and enjoy them.

My take is that Winston did that knowing that John had a bulletproof vest on and would survive the fall. I think Winston and Lance Reddick's Charon are going to fight the High Table from the inside and Laurence Fishburn's character (The Bowry King), John Wick, and Halle Berry's Sofia will all be rising up in revolution against The High Table in John Wick 4.

As one other commented, Belgian Malinois are the breed of dog you see. Kin to German Shephards. They are often used by law enforcement and security forces around the globe. Highly agile and respond well to training for intense situations. You can find lots of videos both of their agility stunts and training for law enforcement/anti-terrorism/security duties online. Basically a fur-missile you do not want to be on the wrong side of.
The building was deconsecrated.... Means it's no more sacred ground. That's what they do when they are going to knock down a church. Temple. Or sacred grounds. Meaning anything goes...

Best thing about this is Keanu trained thousands of hour of gun training. stunt work, and close combat fighting to play the role, but Halle Berry also participated in the same training to play her role!

John Wick 4 is the ultimate action movie! I never thought I'd love this series as much as I do now! I think they need an Oscar category for best stunts!
The Bowery King's punishment was 7 lashes, not death. The adjudicator renegotiates with Winston after seeing John & them winning, to save her own a__ & to get rid of John. Winston had no other choice but to look like he wanted to kill John. He knew shooting him in the bullet proof vest was the best shot for them both to survive this. Winston saying Bobyaga confirms his gamble. Now that doesn't mean John wont still go after him, but I think John will spare him in Chapter 4.

Consecrated mean to make holy or pure, so by changing the Continental to "deconsecrated" it means that the hotel is no longer off limits or neutral ground. It's like any other place.
All the questions you’re asking about whether or not “He Who Is Above the Table” and Winston, and the King, and the Adjudicator… and what’s going to happen next -- these are all questions I’ve been asking since the dang 3rd chapter came out in 2019. CANNOT WAIT UNTIL 2023.
The jist of the ending: John Wick and Winston both decided to rebel against the entire system. Winston knew that he couldn't fight forever like John Wick could, so he used Wick as leverage to get back into his seat of power. He didn't want to kill Wick, since they are friends, but the adjudicator forced his hand by asking what they were going to do about him. So Winston shot Wick in his body armor before the adjudicator could order him to. So Winston appeared to be loyal to the adjudicator without suffering any consequences for not killing Wick. He played both sides exactly perfectly.
A great reaction. The word reconsecrated means, to make a place Holy again after it lost its Holy status. I think you're looking at Winston through to small a lens. Did he try to kill John at the end? He has several seconds where he could've put a round through John's head. Why doesn't he? Maybe he is just trying to LOOK like he tried to kill John. That way he gets his powers reinstated, & John gets away (hopefully). Remember, he is as much a politician as he is an underworld power.

42:00 This is what I really love about the John Wick movies. Usually about other sequels, they have a nasty tendency to either be equal or lesser movies to the original. Not John Wick movies. It's an ongoing saga from the first & just keep surpassing each other in fight scenes, intensity & scale of scenery, etc. Just bigger, badder, everything. It really makes you wonder what they've done for John Wick 4 and what they did for THAT one too! I can't wait.
