pro tip, these guys also have a buntch of orky cybernetics that you can combine to make completely mechanical orks. so if you want to make the lonelist mek boy, then you can with a legion of mechaboys. im not an ork player, so if someone want to take my idea, please do!
They only need two model kits to improve every ork players entire year: a new boyz kit and a new war boss kit. A deffkopta needs to happen sometime though, but the core units of the orks are so far out of date that the one single kit of infantry would do wonders for the entire range.
It'd be nice if 'Ardboyz and Skarboyz were brought back as a multi build kit option. Maybe Stikkbomber squads too. Just to add some variety to their infantry.
I want a new plastic warboss, but I also want an un-named shooty warboss that you can take in any kultur that specializes in DAKKA over melee. A new warboss kit that can be made into either a traditional warboss or this new Dakka boss would be awesome
Speak for yourself we also need a big mek kff that is not in legends... of all the daffy things gw is doing cutting up ork options and not letting us loot is silly. Hell orks taught me how to sculpt back when we were cutting through metal for bits and mods. I think kids today can deal with a bit of plastic. I am still rather irked that my bike centric speed freakz are being binned into legends. Being knee capped with the migration of bike to trike. The loss of the pain boy and big mek on bike. The bikes are meh enough they need the extra help. Still sort of playable. But the kff big mek is a big ol punch in the face.
There is an Ork anti-grav bulk lifta/minelayer called the Minepig in the first iteration of Apocalypse - no pub date I can see. It 'dropped' mines (that looked like old sea mines) which hovered in the air and had a sort of occasionally functioning proximity fuze; in the same book there's a Teleporta and a rocket ramp. In another book the Forge World team (when it had real modellers and sculptors) did an Ork submarine. Ah the good old days when improvisation and creativity were encouraged. Have bought a lot of Kromlec never disappointed. Clean and easy to assemble, often chuck in a little bag of bitz too.
I ABSOLUTELY NEED THE BAND. And I do not even collect orks. But I MUST HAVE THE BAND! (and I suddenly realize they will fit perfectly in Blackstone Fortress setting)
Kromlech/Bits of War have been a good experience for me buying some alternative Space Marine bits. I bought a big batch of items, then realized I forgot a few items. I bought them in another order and sent an email. They gave me a credit for the second shipping cost and agreed to send it all in one go. Very good experience there, and good quality resin.
I've bought tons of bits from them and some full minis too, orks and space marine stuff and it's all been fantastic quality. Super easy to work with, hardly any cleanup required on almost everything I've ever got from them.
I love orks, so much potential for conversions and you don't even need a precise plan or any sort of precision even if you do. The mine layer is a 'remake' of a conversion made for the origina apocalypse.
Somewhere between a King Tiger and a Stug with a sprinkling of Baneblade thrown in for good measure. Gork & Mork would be bloody proud (If they weren't so busy punching each other).
I got my brother the Orc Warchief in Juggernaut Mecha-Armour for Christmas last year and the quality of Kromlech's stuff is top notch. I think GW and Forgeworld have made us all used to getting crap resin.
This stuff looks like where orks were way back in the early days of 40k. Back when orks were an absolutely mad army. I've gotten quite a bit of kromlech add on parts. I like their stuff
The Orktober 2019 situation for me is like GW are the Two Ronnies only showing repeats on BBC and Kromlech are like Rick Mayall and Ade Ademonson who have just released the 2nd series of The Young Ones. Also petition for GW to accept Orks to be able to loot any vehicle and play with penalty if need be but to be accepted in tournament play.
The mine layer is actually something from the game space marine, basically it was a....well it was a mine layer that also servered as a troop transport but granted I'm pretty sure all ork veichles can act as a troop transport
Kitbash the hell out of the crap in the Speed Freekz box and dig out Gorka Morka. That Ciley Myrus will have actual purpose at that point as an option for your trukks or wagon.
Thanks for this video I wasn't aware of the new kits they have out. Also wished u had inserted a pic of your looted Ork tank u were describing. Hope u feel better soon :)
Yeah, kromlech's got decent stuff. bought several different pieces, never had any issues with casings. little flash sometimes, but easy to clean and looks great. I love their ork artillery!
I had saveral models from kromlech I bough their Juggernaut warloird and converted to be my Ghazghull Trakka. There were some minor issues with some details casting bu overall very detailed and good and it was easily fixable. Their resin is very clean and have a good quality imho and is fully compatible with GW bits.
I've bought a few things from Kromlech and a few other 3rd party resin manufacturers. Kromlech's resin casts aren't the best they've seen but they're not bad. Their resin seems a bit grainier and need a bit more tidying than the best of the rest but it's still obviously nicer than the resin GW puts out
I am a imperium player for sure, but that ork tiger has made me gone off at the deep end with an ork army as I am getting 2 and will expand that into a panzer division to counter a imperial guard tank army a friend of mine have. Also I have bought a bunch of bits from them and it is quite nice to work with. Not the best I have seen but still better than most.
Hey Ken, I'm hoping to pick up a tigerwagon during this years limited orktober run. How did your tigerwagons turn out? What do you like to proxy them as? Also any tips on modularity/painting?
I bought a greater wardemon of fate (basically a more tzeentchy daemon Prince) from kromlech and that was very nice. No problems with the production, so nothing was bent or anything, but the detail was a bit lower than GW stuff. Not that that matters for orks, and I think that that is more GW being insanely detailed than kromlech being lower quality. Awesome video BTW
I've purchased a lot of Kromlech stuff and I have not been disappointed in any of it. Their Ork stuff is great and so are their SM bits. Companies like Kromlech, Anvil, and Victoria are probably big reasons why you don't see GW putting much effort into Ork and Guard... now we just need a third party company to do Nids, Eldar, and Necrons.
Most ork flyers from games workshop look like they could fly because they could. Mostly because they are almost exact copies of MIG 17 (unsure on the MIG model) with only minor details changed.

I thought last year's Orktober cars were perfect. The whole "it's junk that shouldn't work" look is good for the really big stuff, but ordinary stuff like the vehicles they should be able to work with. Parts for ground cars would be on every civilized planet. And we know that the Speek Freaks DO obsess over their rides.
Oh dear just read the pre-order article about the space marine action figure......9000 limited run £75 If HobbyLink japan is anything to go by :( it's basically a kickstarter project,
Jagdpanzer 38t AKA the Hetzer? Maybe a Stug or an ISU 152? plenty of tank destroyers to choose from converted a Cromwell into a Grot Tank anything with a blocky aesthetic works well.....KV-2 is pretty much a canon Ragnarok imperial tank.
"Any model is an Ork model if you're brave enough." - popular maxim
Haha.. true! Kit bash something together... then paint it all rusty and slap checker decals on.. done!
That feel when third party companies give more love to Orks than the actual company...
