Yeah, its obviously an instrumental reference, but it could also believably be something on an actual weapon - presumably managing the intensity of the shot. The idea that Slaaneshi weapons require you to explicitly choose to fire them at full intensity also feels appropriate.

You might want to lower it if you're in an enclosed space, if for no other reason than to avoid destroying the surroundings and collapsing it on yourself. On the other hand, as if a true Slaanesh aficionado would ever have any other setting except "11".

yeah i dont mind the look the simplified armour just makes me think it will be easier to kitbash more marines from the sprues specially if we are getting EC as a boxset of some sort.

Favourite bit is the bagpipe bits at the back of them lol. I think they're actually like 4-5 parts? Some seems that seem more like parts than detail like the front face or near the back going through the lever. Maybe that back bit and half of the strap are a separate piece?

So like my only critique with them really is I don't like how they're treated like guns with a trigger mechanism. I think it would have been cooler if like for the Sonic weapon as an example they took the bottom part with the Wawa stick and use that as the trigger mechanism. Also those plugs in the back would be cool if they Incorporated some pipe attachments that would go into the power pack. I'm not sure what the canisters are there for but thankfully they look like they can be removed without too much of an eyesore. Also one of the things I liked about the older kit is it looked like their hands were fused in the weapon and would manipulate it via buttons kind of like a flute or saxophone. Also they could have gone a little bit thinner on the blastmaster neck, keep the tubes but get rid of that additional bulk. Also I'm not too sure about a piddly noise pistol...lol kind of overdid it so I hope they give us an option for bolt pistol or plasma pistol. HOWEVER! I am still happy that it wasn't going to be guitars.
It's my opinion that all the external hoses and cables are superfluous and silly ( yes I'm well aware that all warhamer is silly ) . To me it's like a 14th century knigit runing into battle with the latest Italian armour, but no cod piece, testicles out, shouting, HIT ME IN MY VULNERABLES!... Personally, i cut them of whenever i can. ( the hoses and cables, NOT the testicles).
I prefer the old sculpts with the curves that gives it a more organic feel. The sculpts have too many straight lines and makes it feel too clean for a Slaneeshi aesthetic
To be honest i kinda expected something a little more edgy and risky. In the world eaters release they didnt shy away from grizzly trophies, skulls, etc, and with the hedonites and slaanesh demons upgrades they did some borderline NSFW stuff with the fiends and the demoness playing the living harp. I expected stretched faces, maybe living servitors as sonic weapons, even hairmetal instruments wouldve been fine, but this just feels like a file of proxy bits someone uploaded on cults for like 3 bucks.
I think devoid of their models it’s a bit unfair to criticize them for being more plain, the models could be carrying a lot of the detail work and they wanted more recognizable with the weapons so they don’t look too busy or overly complicated.
So this is definitely just an upgrade sprue for the existing Chaos Marines kit right? The way they are showing off these bits seems to make that pretty obvious to me

The new designs draw influences from the old metal designs, but also show clear influences from the Horus Heresy Kakophony weapons

They've put a lot of details on the Sonic Blaster and Blastmaster with the icons, they're decent refresh. The Sonic Pistol's going to be interesting.

On the sonic blaster the rear pipes remind me almost of the drone pipes on bagpipes which I quite like, but organ stops is a good take too.
