    So I went out for a round today and applied your method just to remind you I’ve had a massive slice for years to the point I haven’t used my driver for almost 5yrs. Today I hit nearly ever fairway and also was cheeky enough to hit a draw. My mates were just as amazed as I was. Getting rid of the tight hands worked like gold. Thanks for fixing and making the driver a beautiful thing 😊😊

    Paul, I read this yesterday. I am always slicing and had for years many kinds of so called “cures”. Today I went to the golf course and played 9 holes. NO SLICE at all. I hit the imaginary tee behind the golfball and that’s it. Thank you so much!

    I played the lowest round ever yesterday after watching your tempo, and this video a couple times before I went out. Hit three greens, and for the first time ever got a few pars, and birdie opportunities that I blew due to be so excited that my shots to the green were so epic. I started with a double bogie, then remembered the tempo video. Awesome videos Paul.

    Hi Paul- Really enjoy your tips. Yesterday, I hit a bucket and did the Hinge drill before every shot. A lot of shots were great but quite a few were pushes out to the left. I am a lefty. Thanks. Leon

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So the ones to the left were you holding the face open. So ... roll it sooner. This is literally how simple this is. If you rolled it and every shot went straight or hooked you would not longer be a slicer. So for the ones that hooked you would be adding more body to straighten them out. So keep rolling it from the top and get rid of any slice spin. Once you can do that then work on body.

    Hi Paul, when your hands cross over at the bottom of the swing, is the action of "crossing over" a result of loose wrists AND lower-body-firing (LBF) combined with perfect timing at point of impact or is "timing at impact" not a conscious thought but instead a direct result of loose wrists and LBF?

  • @geauxtime
    @geauxtime 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    this manner of squaring the clubface (at impact) seems contrary to some other popular pros who teach squaring the face in the backswing by bowing wrist (while shallowing the club), then turning your body through impact. Paul's way seems a lot simpler and easier.

So it was just a matter of time before golfers started getting better. It will keep growing now. I would like to get the word out there to stop hitting with the arms etc. and finally get people improving. It really is unbelievable how people are still struggling with this game but people keep trying to hit with the arms and few people are telling them not to. Let's see what I can do about that as we move into the future.

  • @raulmiranda5264
    @raulmiranda5264 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Paul, when/where should the rehinge process start?

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      As the club is parallel to the ground in the downswing it is hinged to its maximum. From here on it is unhinging. Think of it like a 2 x 4 with a hinge on the end. It would not release at the top it would compress the angle until the angle releases. In no way do I want you thinking about it unless you are trying to purposely roll the wrists (roll over drill) and get the ball hooking. If you are doing this you are rolling from the top. Once you eliminate all slice spin you stop trying to roll it and allow it to happen.

  • @John-wx9oy
    @John-wx9oy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If anyone doubts the importance of loose wrists, watch Phil Mickelson swing in slow motion. He begins the downswing with extraordinary lag. His wrists are loose as cooked spaghetti which allow them to turnover (release) just as Paul describes. Also note that he keeps a secure grip with his leading hand, again, just as Paul teaches.
    Phil is 51-years-old and drove a ball in the PGA Championship 366 yards, after rollout, while outdriving young muscle boy, Brooks Koepka.
    The most important aspect of the swing is simply staying loose. If you can master that one thing (easier said than done for established hackers like many of us), the other swing components fall into place much, much easier.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, just go to convince the world to try it for 1 bucket of balls. I am getting there but need everyone's help to get the word out. Imagine everyone hitting it long and straight as well as playing without pain. Wouldn't that be good. Everyone would play in 4 hours too and rarely lose golf balls.

  • @method341

    Hi Paul, I don't understand why my clubface is so open even with loose wrists. Am I not hinging properly? Am I releasing too late? I just feel like if I have to roll over my wrists, it is forcing it and hard to time right.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is timing between the release and body rotation. If you only speed up the body of course you would blow it right. You need to hit 10 hooks in a row. This speed up the release. Now you can drive the lower harder to straighten it out. If you blow it right do it again. Do this but early: th-cam.com/video/Xk7t9yHCO-I/w-d-xo.html
      So feel the arms. Roll it from the top and get it hooking first. This is step one. Once you can hook it you are doing half right. Then you add body to straighten it out. It is that simple.
