      Well I have a bunch of tips now on how to do it. If you are swinging over the top you are hitting with the arms. It is literally that simple. Watch and follow these:

    Paul this video has just helped me fix 5 weeks of huge push slices with my driver feeling like I wanted to quite golf. All I had to was continue to swing out to in but rotate more at impact and not hang back which was obviously holding the face more open. Today at the range once I got the hang of it I was hitting nice piercing drives with a baby fade which was nice thank you so much 👍🏻
    Once I master this I will be working on my early release which loses me about 20 yards of distance on my irons but I struggle with that even practising your drills it makes me leave the face wide open with more lag.
    I will get a lesson with you through the app at the end of the month and introduce myself 👍🏻 thanks again

    I have been trying to get inside out for over 2 years, have taken lessons and been trying to shallow the swing and all that without much success. Today I applied your method and hit 120 shots, and using Garmin Truswing I could see that majority of my shots were inside out. This is brilliant. I am going to work on squaring the face next and once we are out of the lockdown will be taking this to the course. Thank you so much for your help, really appreciate it.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very good. You get this path and it will dramatically change your game. Let this settle in so you can take your mind off it and still do it. Then focus on the face. Think face too early and you may start coming over the top. If so catch it immediately and get back to the inside path.

      @@paulwilsongolf thanks Paul. Just to let you know. I started the body swing in April at the start of lockdown. I've really worked on all of my game since then.

      I've now been cut to 13 (13.2)

    Hi Paul. This is an amazing drill!!!! I had heard how this is one of Count Yogis principals but I always heard how all pros hit down on the ball, even driver... and that hitting up would lend to thin hits....I also have struggled with hitting in to out. Well I went outside and started hitting with the idea of “up” on the ball and what I found was a simple in to out path and a slight draw and excellent control ....and this was with a nine iron.....the feel of “hitting up” was incredible. It also helped to make my finish waaaay better......Thanks so much......I think this will totally change my game...I play to a single digit but my goal has always been scratch and now I think I can actually get there

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, people need to do it though. That's the problem. They wait until they get to the range each week. This is not enough. Count Yogi was great. Love his stuff. Keep getting this feeling. Up really means your whole body is tilted behind it which is where you want to be. You get the descending blow due to the right fundamentals. Here: th-cam.com/video/_ji_zykZlY8/w-d-xo.html

      Turn more. The more you turn the less you tilt. You could also loosen your wrists to let it release then you would have a draw on your hands. Couple this one with your path: th-cam.com/video/8ro_1NYPd8c/w-d-xo.html or like I said think TURN to start down. If so your push will be gone and you will hit it dead straight.

    Only question I have is you start rehinge when. Before you hit the ball at the ball or after the ball.
    Very much confused.
    Feels like at the ball will be better.
    Thanks

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are not trying to rehinge. It is rehinging on its own. So no, it would be rehinging after you hit the ball. If so, that would tell you the hinge is locked. You are using the hinging and rehinging for the power in the swing. As you turn, the body the angle is compressed until the lead arm is parallel to the ground. From there to 2 feet after impact with irons 3 feet with driver the club is unhinging.

      Swing is great. Few issues:
      1. too tilted at set up. Imagine you are in a cylinder as you go down to set up not bend over to set up. This is taller than what you are doing. Chest outside the ball and don't clearly see your toes when you look down. See the club and ball clearly peripheral you can see you toes.
      2. Doing a reverse pivot going back keeping all the weight on the left as you coil. Right from the start you need to gradually feel the weight loading 80% to the right instep heel by the time you hit the top. th-cam.com/video/7z5eUcSwlSk/w-d-xo.html
      3. You are way too flat going back and at the top. Reach up. Use your height to your advantage. Feel some air under your right armpit instead of it being jammed against your side.
      Like I said, good swing. Fix these few things and it will be great.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      50/50 at address. I like the weight on the laces. You are coiling and loading on the back foot towards the instep/heel. Your forward heel can raise 2-3 inches as you coil back. Downswing you are replanting the forward foot which causes you to shift as you are turning. Impact back heel is off the ground 3-4" with irons and 5-6" with driver. You then hit the ball and keep rotating into your follow through where the weight is 90% on the outside edge of your forward foot from the baby toe to heel. You are no more than 10% on the tip of the back toe.

      I am not hitting anything. I move my body which moves my arms. You are swinging up like this as a drill. You can even do this when hitting balls when learning it. The whole point is to get your body tilting back when you hit the ball. If so, you will get the path and the contact. I am not thinking of this when playing. I do experiment with it sometimes when on the range. Just keep doing it for while until you are never coming over the top.

    Hi Paul!
    I've been trying your method for about a month now and can tell you that it feels great! But I've had some trouble with the neutral grip.. It feels as though sometimes my hands slip at the top of my backswing causing me to hit a terrible shot. This happened quite a lot the past week, until I tried something different.
    I tried holding a stronger grip with my left hand but still only in the fingers in my right and it worked wonders! I don't have any problem with loosing control of grip at the top of the backswing when I hold the club like this and my "good shots" go exactly the same way as my neutral grip shots did, only I hit far less bad shots when gripping in this new way. I know Fred Couples gripped his club this way and that's where I got the idea to try it from.
    So my question is: would you advocate against or with a strong grip where I hold my right hand in the fingers?

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would think you were no holding enough pad of your left hand against the grip of the club. If so it would wiggle. You are saying you made it stronger and was secure but this would put the heel pad on the club. The strong grip might be okay today. Let me know how you do in the future thought. I would stick with the neutral but make sure the left thumb is against the side of the hand then put it on the club off center making sure some of the heel pad is also on the grip.

      Maybe I started gripping it neutral now and had a weaker grip before. As you said I felt that I didn’t hold enough pad on my left hand against the grip before and now I just made sure that there was enough pad for me to feel like it was secure. The line on my left hand is pointing toward my right shoulder and the line on my right is pointing toward my chin with the new grip.

    Would we have to tee it up higher? Another great video btw, thank you.

      Thanks. You don't want to tee it too low. I like half the ball above the crown or even a little bit more. Not too high either.

    Do you implement this swing with wedges and irons too? I am not referring to the swing up drill. Just the swing in general from inside to outside?

      Yes. Your body needs tilt back in the downswing. Watch this video for clarification: th-cam.com/video/_ji_zykZlY8/w-d-xo.html

    Question.
    Why does it say on PGA site that every player is swinging 1 degree down with driver? I personally started treated driver just like every other club, except stance widens.
    I don't understand this. Are you saying to get the feeling of swinging up just for that simple reason? The feeling?

      Every player does not swing down 1 degree. Some are down some are level some are up. I want you to swing it up so you are not swinging excessively down plus as I said in the tip you will swing from the inside.
