I am so excited to be relocating to Florida in January and that means I get to design a whole new TH-cam studio! Thanks for the tips, and I will definitely be checking out the El Gato products you featured--LOVE my stream deck!
You’re such a techie! Nice set-up! I have the camlink as well but never got it setup to work right my my canon MilII. And the canon interface needs an upgrade. Lol
Nice setup. I just changed out my desk light but may go back to my Elgato key light just to (re)simplify my setup. Love my low profile boom arm as well. Great tour and BTS!
Great tour!! Since I use the atr2100x myself, it would be nice if there was a fair comparison between the sm7db and the atr, and an opinion if such an upgrade is worth it (4-5 times the price plus the console)
Love your setup Ms. Meredith! I use the Canon M50 Mk II too, it's a "new to me" camera I bought from MPB. I'm still new to talking head vids and I learn much from watching yours. I would appreciate it if you could possibly help me with my M50 connection to my iMac (2021 M1 24"). I have a cam link and all the correct cables, and I do see that the camera connects as a USB camera in Screenflow. Do I need to use the cam link all the time? I also noticed yesterday when I was trying to get things going that you can't record video when you have clean HDMI turned on. But then discovered that it meant you can't record on camera video, Screenflow records it just fine. I'm a photogrpaher and musician, retired from "the grind" just doing what I love with a camera and guitar. I think I learnt most of what I do in Screenflow from your tutorials. 💜😎💜
@@meredithmarsh, So, you don't use it for regular video recordings? If I keep the camlink in all the time and keep the camera in HDMI off mode, that means I can't record regular talking head videos. Correct?
I have a EOS700d with the same lens it came with I’m thinking about upgrading the lens to a wide lens. But also I’m looking for the right mic as well to attach to the cam. I thought I was doing it right and was recording the other day to find out the camera had stopped recording after 4min maybe I need a larger card 🤔
How do you use the capture card to hit record and pause? I find myself taking the sd card out and swapping and manually hitting record on the m50. Please help! is there a software you use?
When I use the camlink with HDMI Info turned off, the only way to record is if you are using Screenflow or OBS or possibly Canon's EOS Webcam Utility Pro, and use the record button in the softward, not on the camera. Correct me if I'm wrong Ms. Meredith.
I record with Descript most of the time for a talking head video, and ScreenFlow for a screenrecording. If not those two, then I am using ecamm. That way the camera is always ready for my Zoom meetings too. If I need to shoot something that's not connected to my computer, I use my R10 like normal (no camlink, just using SD card).

Woohoo!! Setting up a whole new studio sounds like a dream!
Thank you for sharing.
Hello Meredith, yes you are right about the iPhone, I used the continuity camera thing and was amazed and it easily replaced my cannon.
I love the term, "YouTubicle"! Your voice changer button cracked me up, too. Really enjoyed seeing your setup and all of your fun toys! Thanks!
😂😂😂 thank you!
So good Meredith! I can’t wait to take a look at the teleprompter video. ❤️

Awesome setup. Thanks for the straightforwardness
Thanks!! 🙏 and you’re welcome!

Thanks Kevin!
Thank you, Meredith. Very clear and helpful
Thanks for watching!
"TH-camicle" 😂😂 I love it.

Thanks! Great idea on the comparison. I will add that to my list!

You’re right, could be the card. Other than that I’m not too sure.
1080p is fine, if you don't mention it I bet most of us wouldn't recognize it
Good point! Thanks!
Do you think you will be updating this iMac anytime, and what new system would you choose as a new upgrade? I have the system, which is now obsolete 😢
I have the Mac Pro connected to this monitor. Very powerful!

@@meredithmarsh Thanks so much for that info Ms. Meredith. It helps me to know your use case so that I can refine mine. 💜
What monitor do you use?
It’s a 21” Apple Thunderbolt Display from 10 years ago 👍
