This is a is a re-upload as yesterday's attempt had several Audio issues. Thank you guys so much for the kind words! Glad to finally have this project published! All gear links and resources for this project can be found here: dslrvideoshooter.com/the-ultimate-video-desk/
There are still a couple of issues with audio in the DBX noise test and the demonstration with no sound panels. The polarity/phase of one of the channels is inverted, so when they sum to mono (as is the case with many phones, mine included) there's no sound at all. Oh, and the tags on the timeline don't match the content properly. Great content though, as always!
This would be such a pro setup for professors like me adapting to teach online during this pandemic! I’ve learned a lot from you these past few months!
I thought I was the only one using a teleprompter for video calls! The idea is finally catching on! It does change everything, and I'm sure soon everyone will be doing it.
Hi Mark Also check out the teleprompter tool (ppt-mirror.com) which converts and mirror-flip Powerpoint slides for iPads, smartphones to be used in a teleprompter that does not force you to read word for word your speech remains natural.
Don't give the msm that much credit. As you've pointed out, they just now got into lapel mics and better lighting for their covid - basement based shows. Lol.
Simply amazing. I have been watching multiple videos trying to piece together a setup. This has everything in one place. One of your best videos. Thank you!
I'm half way through and I just wanna say this is FLIPPING AWESOME! Edit: finished the video, I can't believe I didn't have to pay for that kind of info! So much hard work has gone into this. Well done!
Freaking LOVE these videos Caleb! The last big desk/filming set up video you did last year... I went and bought almost every darn thing other than cameras as I have too many already. I then built my vlog desk and it's great... it lasted about 2 months before I was using a different variation I created on an impact stand for portable filming. My new desks arrive soon and now you go and do this new look. ummm... YES! haha Some great ideas man, seriously. Thank you. - JD
Loved how you mentioned that you have been youtubing for 10 years and built up your studio over time. Time and experience is the best way to understand your needs vs wants.
I had an old teleprompter gathering dust in my storage room and tried this out. It works great! I love all of the great ideas you present here. The cable management and rack mount hanging off the front is genius!
How do you get the picture to invert/mirror on the monitor so that you can read the words and everything looks correct when you look at the teleprompter?
This is AWESOME! I am working on a setup very similar to this, complete with my ATEM Mini Pro ISO and teleprompter for conference calls and virtual education events. I really love the clean setup you have here - it has given me some ideas! My biggest difference is that I have two computers: my PC laptop for work and my personal MacBook Pro that runs most of the fun technical stuff. This means I also have two monitors: two old Apple Cinema displays (24” and 30”). I don’t have admin access on my work laptop, so it’s basically only used for PowerPoints and logging into conference calls. The ATEM Mini Pro ISO is used as a webcam on my work laptop. The MacBook Pro runs the ATEM via Ethernet/network. I currently only have one camera, my new Sony ZV1. Both of my Canon DSLRs don’t have clean HDMI out, so I’m going to sell those. Eventually I may add a second camera angle, but the product showcase mode on the ZV1 works for my purposes very well (I rarely need it anyway). My audio is very simple: a Rode Wireless Go with a Rode lavalier. I hope to upgrade to a Shure SM7B, possibly with a GoXLR Mini, someday, but it’s not at the top of my list for upgrades. I’m wanting a super ultrawide monitor first (so I only have one monitor, not two), and then the new Mac Mini with an M1 chip to replace my early 2015 MacBook Pro. My biggest hurdle was getting the correct mirroring to the teleprompter (I need to be able to read notes when I give presentations). There were a few $300+ options for video scalers with mirroring/flipping, but I was lucky to find a lightly used Magewell USB Capture HDMI card for $160 on eBay that has mirror/flip options in its software. I have a One Take Only teleprompter (bought used for $100 on FB) with a 13.3” slim portable monitor from Amazon that was about $150. Right now I have it on an old desktop mic stand I’ve had for about 15+ years from college. Hopefully this helps anyone who is in a similar boat! It took me about a week of endless searching online to find the hardware for my needs...now it’s about tweaking the mounting and cable management!
I love Caleb's rig but I dont think i'll be doing work other than shooting/recording on this desk!! Mr. Encinas' desk is more appealing to me and that wall organiser board.... just pure delight to watch! 😍 ...if only somebody married these 2 desk setups together... hmmmmm........😚
It’s taken this man sooooo many years to find the sweet spot for his channel. I love his videos but not a fun of his gear review videos but every time he makes a video about a SETUP,I come running to watch. I think making these simple setups videos are fit for the current times and original to him since no one else is doing this type of build guide which gives him the 1st mover advantage. Keep this up dude and milk this opportunity you’ve pioneered because it’s your time now to grow to 2Mill subs... 👏👏👌
Man, I found you channel, few days ago. Just want to congratulate you. The quality of your work is outstanding. This desk is a dream and certainly inspiring. I'm psychologist and I'm seeing my clients online since the beginning of the Pandemic. I'm constantly searching for ways to give my client a better feeling of being in the office. Many of the products you showed I didn't know. and it opened up possibilities. Thank you.
Caleb, I've been following your channel for a number of years, but I have to say, this is one of the best solutions you've ever made! Thanks a lot! ;-)
This is now my go-to video for setting up my Dream TH-cam Studio. I've watched tons of videos on this, but this video is, by far, the best. You've covered every issue I can conceive of and addressed it with great thoughtfulness. Thanks for sharing your expert experience.
I am highly selective of which channels I subscribe to, with that, said, I continue to be impressed by the sheer quality that Pike puts out. The tutorial and reviews are second to none.
CALEB. I hope you are so proud. This is, hands-down, your best work yet. And that's a high bar. I love it. Great work. Way to put in the time. Wow. Excellent.
Fantastic Video - Thanks, it really inspired me to sort my setup out for the endless zoom calls that I'm now on. The teleprompter has proven to be a game changer for me! For anybody that is also considering that route like you I found the Lilliput screen to be so much better than an iPad - however, after originally buying the Lilliput A8 (8 inch). I then tried the Lilliput A11 (10.1 inch) wondering if it would fit etc. I can confirm that the A11 fits perfectly and is the ideal companion to the Glide Gear. Cleaner image that fills the screen completely. Absolutely loving all of your content!!!
The teleprompter monitor is amazing. I just got my setup. A $150 12" all metal teleprompter and an inexpensive 10.1" HDMI monitor. I no longer struggle to look into the camera. Instead I look at myself and the eye lines are correct. It is amazing how looking just a few inches above or below the lens is visually obvious and visually obnoxious. A five star Captain Obvious award to Caleb. "Why didn't I think of that?" BTW, there are many low-cost, no-cost DYI options for the teleprompter stand.
This is my first tech comment ever: ty! very inspiring! „perfect“: gear, picture, sound, description text with links to buy the gear, chapters, in-depth explanations, cheap hacks, you gave away - it seems - all your knowledge, ty!
@12:40 I do the same thing - using the teleprompter for my zoom interviews so I'm making eye contact with the guest and camera at the same time. really helps me be more engaged in the conversation.
Caleb another awesome setup. You create, practical, affordable (kinda), and useful tools which I am surprised companies have not tried to license for use. Thanks, so many of your recommendations have become a part of my workflow and inventory. It is good to have a guy you can count on for solid info.
And there I was wishing I had a bigger space so I could make it more functional for filming and podcasts. Crazy to see how much you can actually fit in a tiny corner. Very well thought out!
As an alternative for the mic XLR kill plus DBX, etc. I would just use the Fairlight features in the ATEM Mini Pro. If I use a RØDE Video NTG, then I already have a 3.5mm feed and variable gain control. To kill the sound, merely pop the analog in switch on the ATEM.
Damn...just when we thought it couldn't get any better than your previous setups...BOOM!! This is a dream setup! Absolutely flawless. It's exactly what I need in my streaming room right now! Wow! 👏👏👏
What the heck @TH-cam?! How it the world this guy doesn't have million+ subs with such a high quality content like this... Great work Man. Thanks for sharing your excellent ideas!
Caleb - WOW! As i'm new to this camera and live game, I only SUBSCRIBE to a very select few. I have always highly anticipated your videos. So when you posted the teaser about the telepromopter a few weeks ago, DUDE my mind was blow. I was trying to use my ipad with my teleprompter but to no avail, but the field monitor idea is just SIC! But this entire setup is RIDICULOUS! I've already put most of the part list in my Amazon cart. Also thanks for providing the diagram for the setup, there is NO ONE ELSE OUT THERE DOING THAT! YOU ARE THE BEST DUDE!
just noticed; the reason why he does't explain how to set up the teleprompter to switch back and forth, they're three different videos explaining the teleprompter. He has two different shirts on in the main video. The one with his back to us, your shirt is darker and when you finish, you have lighter colored tee-shirt on. His teleprompter with all the guest does not work with this set up. That is the reason why he never did the follow up video. He should have just said that instead of leading on like this is all one set up; it's not, it's three different videos edited into one in regards to the teleprompter. What a waste of my time.
This guy knows his stuff and truly can set any streaming setup even on small budgets & still nailed it at high standards. This is is clean, lighting is 👌and equipment are well worth the investment too. ♦️Best setup ever in 2020 ♦️
Question for ya EposVox or Caleb...If I'm not going to use the ATEM Mini...then I wouldn't need to purchase a splitter, correct? All I would need is the switch along with the teleprompter and monitor? And for the proper connection; it'd be a short Micro HDMI to HDMI cable from the camera to the Switch...and then a short HDMI to HDMI from the Switch to field Monitor...and then a longer HDMI cable from the Switch to the Computer/Capture Card? Please advise; thank you!
Super Nice! 3 major Cameras, lenses, lights, desk, monitors, laptop, PC, camera stands, teleprompter, switchers & adapters, lights, cables, don't forget that audio setup. Just a simple spiced up setup! Well I don't know exactly what you're using it for but I'm hoping it's for a full blown Network! Otherwise this prices out in my head hit a simple $10,000 US! I wish we could afford a ultimate one-man-band tiny little studio like this but lets BE REAL! To me you're just showing off! The good news... I bought my lottery ticket, wish me luck!
Hey just wanted to let you know. You seem to always do an excellent job on your stuff, with no added fluff. Your stuff is not clickbait and looking for millions of views, but informative and extensively well done. Keep putting in the work. Noice.
oh my god. This is perfection! And answers my question on which camera you use for your overhead shots. I love your channel and really honor all the work and love you put into this. Thank you so much.
Man...you do the BEST job I've ever seen! My background is TV and I appreciate how thorough, links, etc. You really do such great and comprehensive work!
I love your setup videos so much. And I think this is the best so far! What I love about them is the imagination and ideas that spark when watching them. Plus it informs me about gear I didn't know existed to solve problems I have. It also gives me goals to hit for "leveling up" my TH-cam quality as I progress. Really appreciate all the great content you provide. Thanks!!!
My Man! Loving these setups. I'm still rocking the all-in-one stand in my studio and even started with the all-in-one desk setup. No joke I have (right now) the same work table sitting in my living room waiting to be assembled. And, I literally, kid you not was looking for some reviews/setups on a teleprompter and I saw this one pop up yesterday. Looks like I may just have to make that investment, with that link down below of course.
this is a really good setup for someone who want to have serious but minimal production studio even in their home, definitely takes notes these are some good shit.
Every single time you outdo yourself Caleb! You're a freaking genius!! Thank you soo much for making this! I already own like 80% of this stuff and I've been looking to do something JUST like this when I move to Cali in a few months. THANK YOU AGAIN MAN!!
I can't believe I have not seen you channel until today. Really nice work, by far my favourite videos on desk setups or generic video setups are on your channel, out of the entire YT (that I watched so far)
WAAAAAAAAA JUST AWESOME 👏 AMAZING Caleb what you have done with small space... It s exactly what i was looking for... You nailed it... As we say in France... BRAVO
This is a is a re-upload as yesterday's attempt had several Audio issues. Thank you guys so much for the kind words! Glad to finally have this project published! All gear links and resources for this project can be found here: dslrvideoshooter.com/the-ultimate-video-desk/
Thanks man. Will watch again to pleasure the algorithm
This is like a setup from 2050.
Thanks for re-uploading this video! Saved ;)

Oh, and the tags on the timeline don't match the content properly.
Great content though, as always!
How big is your room? 2 x 3 meters?
This is my favourite setup video of yours so far! Lot's of great ideas here!
Love your channel.
You make really great content...
Thanks Brotha!!! Means a lot 😊
So awesome!
Brain exploding*
Awesome 👌
Seriously who disliked this video? This is THE BEST TH-cam video setup I’ve ever seen for a one man show.
Mind blown at the level of thought and detail, not only put into the setup, but in the video itself. 🔥🔥🔥
I really don't think there is anything better he could have done there is like nothing that you could not do in that setup.
This would be such a pro setup for professors like me adapting to teach online during this pandemic! I’ve learned a lot from you these past few months!

I have my eye on that teleprompter setup! That's sick!

Thank you Bryci!!!
You shouldn't watch, might give you ideas...
I need a camera for my project in Africa, let me know if you have un used camera for cheap price. Thank you.
Loved how you mentioned that you have been youtubing for 10 years and built up your studio over time. Time and experience is the best way to understand your needs vs wants.
Holy cow this is awesome and has given me a ton of ideas. I didn't know I wanted this but now I need it.
Thank you so much for the kind words man!
This is my current project upgrading from your last setup to this one. Thanks Caleb.
4:29 this was a great collab thanks for having me!
🤣
😂 Anytime!
Thank you so.. so much. Awesome setup and video. Congratulations.
Thank you so much Cerdo!
This was sooo good! I’m definitely using some ideas from this video 🙏🙏
Thanks Manny! Keep up the solid work bro!
The camera monitor in the teleprompter is a game changing idea! So versatile and useful!
After the video ended, I started clapping. I love your "no back story or videos of you getting coffee" sessions.
100%. Can’t stand vids where the host does the old coffee timelapse filler. cough, scott, cough

Dude, this video is insane. The average viewer has NO CLUE how much time goes into a video such as this. Well done Caleb, well done!
Love these videos Caleb. Thanks for sharing these awesome setups!
I love Caleb's rig but I dont think i'll be doing work other than shooting/recording on this desk!!

I’ve never seen so many verified accounts comments! Goes to show the respect the community has for Caleb. Great vid!

Hell yeah dude that’s awesome!
This looks insane!
Also... Do you want me to go Bankrupt?
I feel you! Same here 😂
😂
and it is even not 4k setup. only 1080p.
Been a while since I’ve been this interested in a video this long....from start to finish!
Such a great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is phenomenal! Really amazing job
U r still alive?
Thanks man!!!
Caleb you are a BEAST! You've gotten me in trouble with my wife several times, but the knowledge you've imparted has been worth it!
Caleb, I've been following your channel for a number of years, but I have to say, this is one of the best solutions you've ever made! Thanks a lot! ;-)
I love this set up, been setting my filming desk based off of some of your other videos.
So glad you're enjoying the desk content!
Currently my favorite video on TH-cam right now
That monitor teleprompter thing is f u c k i n g g e n i u s - I can't believe everyone doesn't do that. SO SMART
Hi! Does he connects his mac to the monitor?
This is now my go-to video for setting up my Dream TH-cam Studio. I've watched tons of videos on this, but this video is, by far, the best. You've covered every issue I can conceive of and addressed it with great thoughtfulness. Thanks for sharing your expert experience.
Wow, what an amazing setup! Thanks for putting this together, very helpful!
Thank you so much for watching and the kind words Williston!
Gotta say this might be the MOST EPIC video I’ve ever seen you do in all the years I’ve been following you! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Wow, thanks!
this is absolutely bonkers mate
Thank you Ali!!!
What’s up Ali. About to head to your channel in a sec. It’s been a minute
I am highly selective of which channels I subscribe to, with that, said, I continue to be impressed by the sheer quality that Pike puts out. The tutorial and reviews are second to none.
this is absolutely amazing.
youre right
CALEB. I hope you are so proud. This is, hands-down, your best work yet. And that's a high bar. I love it. Great work. Way to put in the time. Wow. Excellent.
Go Go Gadget TH-cam studio!
Incredible set up.
Thanks Dee!!!
What an AMAZING setup. Everything has a purpose and it's so well thought out
The teleprompter monitor is amazing. "Why didn't I think of that?"
BTW, there are many low-cost, no-cost DYI options for the teleprompter stand.
How do you get the image to be mirrored in the monitor so that it looks ok in the teleprompter? Any hints would be helpful. Thanks.
@@thearklisburn I was able to flip the image in my inexpensive 10" monitor menus. YMMV.
@@robertharker Thanks. I discovered I could do it within my chest £40 10inch monitor menu also. Works well. I really like this setup.
So many great ideas in this one :)
Thank you Alex!
This is my first tech comment ever: ty! very inspiring! „perfect“: gear, picture, sound, description text with links to buy the gear, chapters, in-depth explanations, cheap hacks, you gave away - it seems - all your knowledge, ty!
AUDIO 👏 AUDIO 👏 AUDIO 👏
we have audio whoooooo!!!!!
We did it!!!
@12:40 I do the same thing - using the teleprompter for my zoom interviews so I'm making eye contact with the guest and camera at the same time. really helps me be more engaged in the conversation.
So many great ideas and gadgets!
Thanks Ben!!!
Bookmarked and I will definitely get back to it once my house is built and it’s time to set up the studio of my dreams. You’re the best!
Just amazing.
Caleb another awesome setup. You create, practical, affordable (kinda), and useful tools which I am surprised companies have not tried to license for use. Thanks, so many of your recommendations have become a part of my workflow and inventory. It is good to have a guy you can count on for solid info.
That is very generous of you John! Thank you so much for the kind words. It really does mean a lot!
Brooooo this is so sick! Love seeing your setup
Thank you so much Evan!
And there I was wishing I had a bigger space so I could make it more functional for filming and podcasts. Crazy to see how much you can actually fit in a tiny corner. Very well thought out!
Caleb just won TH-cam. Definitely going to put some of this to use in my next studio.
Thanks Bro!!!!
Sweet and clean as always!!!
Wow! 👏👏👏
Finally re-uploaded
Sorry for the wait! That first upload was a real cluster!
You are my organizational hero! Great job, Caleb.
only real ones know this was uploaded yesterday
What the heck @TH-cam?! How it the world this guy doesn't have million+ subs with such a high quality content like this... Great work Man. Thanks for sharing your excellent ideas!
Ultimate is right!
You're putting one in your Kombi, right?
I try! 😂 Thank you for watching and awesome channel!
Wow, your setups just get better and better. You are the McGuyver of camera setups!
Me: So... I'm saving money
Caleb: Oh really?
Lol aint you a reggaeton channel
Caleb - WOW! As i'm new to this camera and live game, I only SUBSCRIBE to a very select few. I have always highly anticipated your videos. Lol. Feeling exactly the same. Caleb for the win.
Oh snap you watch this channel too

The best video for live streaming setups!
I just wish the ATEM Mini Pro supported 4K :/
Hopefully some day!!!

They have one... it’s an ATEM Production Studio 4k 😁
Caleb, these setups and builds are all legit! Love seeing what you come up with and put together!
I thought you'd put all this on a single stick. Kinda dissappointed...
😂😂😂
Super Nice! 3 major Cameras, lenses, lights, desk, monitors, laptop, PC, camera stands, teleprompter, switchers & adapters, lights, cables, don't forget that audio setup. The good news... I bought my lottery ticket, wish me luck!
Is there a chance you could adopt me so I can use all that awesome gear and your setup. Looks really really nice!!
I have been searching for setups for nearly five days, came upon this channel, I am sold and this is my last stop 🛑
Also, the “no sound panels” section is terrible. Without sound panels, there are NO Sounds AT ALL! 😜
Bro this is crazy! I had to pause the video halfway through and remind myself "Baby steps" lol Dope video
These particular vids are some of your MOST popular - it's clear why - great stuff - thanks!
Great video! I love nerding out on gear. You've given me some new gear goals to shoot for. Thanks Caleb!
Big-brain Caleb. There he goes again! Always killing the game. Nice work.
Man...you do the BEST job I've ever seen! My background is TV and I appreciate how thorough, links, etc. You really do such great and comprehensive work!
You know man your passion and hard work is reflected.
Looks like I may just have to make that investment, with that link down below of course.
this is what i called a "proper" video meeting setup! 👏🏻
great video as always.
this is a really good setup for someone who want to have serious but minimal production studio even in their home, definitely takes notes these are some good shit.
Dude! I just bought that husky desk from Home Depot! Glad I beat you to this video because it would probably sold out by now. Awesome set up!
THIS IS THE BEST SET UP IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!
This is wild that this guy gives away this brilliant insight, knowledge, and expertise for free.
Okay, this was a really great walk-through of your setup Caleb! Thanks!
Awesome setup man. You never cease to amaze me with your ideas of how to use gear :D I love focusrite gear from my audio days.
This is next-level, Caleb. I love your videos, and this setup melted my face.
You helped me alot with the set up of my studio! Learned so much from you. Thank you so much for doing what you do!💯
WAAAAAAAAA JUST AWESOME 👏 AMAZING Caleb what you have done with small space... It s exactly what i was looking for... You nailed it... As we say in France... BRAVO
This was awesome Caleb! Thanks for always pushing the innovation of your studio forward!
