But how are they not the same thing?
@@thomasffrench3639 influential means the impact that it had on a genre, industry, or the culture like Joey argues astroboy should be on the list for being one of the first anime to establish the genre but in my opinion astroboy is not a must see show. But their conversation was still valid. Personally I would have shows like chainsaw man or one piece on the list because they are shows you need to experience rather than shows that are more influential to a category.

You can quite literally go anywhere (aside from Venezuela) in South America and have a great time. Just plan your trip well, check out everything you wish to do before setting up and you'll be good to go.
Yes, Rio, Lima, Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Quito... All of those have big no-no zones that you DON'T want to go at any time, however it's already pretty hard to just stumble onto them, so if you do your research will never even notice them.
I appreciate Joey and Garnt for sticking up for Sailor Moon being on the list. Idk where Connor's brain was at on the meaning of the word "influential", but an anime that played such a large part in popularizing an entire ganre in the anime Industry, and not only that, popularizing a ganre that specifically catered to the female audience, something that I'm sure played a big part in a lot of women getting into anime, maybe even growing up to create their own shows and stories directly inspired by it. Especially in a time such as the 90s it was important for girls to be able to see themselves not only as the main characters in a story about fighting evil, but to also see these characters embracing their femininity and still being able to fight. You can't say that's not influential.
Ganre
Also a very important for Latinamerican anime fans (alongside Dragon Ball, Pokémon, Saint Seiya, Digimon, Naruto and so many others) due to how iconic its dub was.
It was big in Germany too and one of few Anime my sisters would be racing me to watch
He didnt say that its not influential. Dude just wants some spice. He just doesn’t want it to look like every other top anime list . Thats all.
I'm happy af they fought for Haruhi
100% agree on Gintama not being able to be something to recommend right off the bat. It's stayed my favorite for years but I can definitely understand.
True, gintama is perfect in every category from plot, characters and comedy, it's impossible to not have it as ur favourite. problem is its only great for anime fans since u simply won't get behind the jokes, plus it's only flaw being the first 2 eps are the only fillers in the show
i could see gintama definitely hard to get into for newcomers and I personally don’t want to say just skip episodes to the serious arcs. Admittedly first 50 episodes are quite tough to get into the show but once after that , it’s mostly likely a banger show
Yup, watching Gintama as a normies was hard.
i dropped Gintama 7 times, but now its one of my favourites.
Im 32 and been watching anime since i was like 6 and never watched Gintama lol. Need to check it out someday
Connor: "We've literally made an ANN list so far"
Also Connor: "Deathnote"
But DeathNote> Haruhi
As someone that has seen Haruhi I'd still think Death Note should be higher, not just from a popularity standpoint but in general how Haruhi has some points which can easily stray people away from anime. It's not only not a safe show to recommend to people that want to get into anime, it's a hard sell even for a huge portion of anime fans.
It might have been somewhat influential for the anime industry itself but as they've established during this podcast it definitely wasn't the only one and the most important one. I'd probably put Astro Boy 10 times more than I'd put Haruhi, and although I wouldn't put Evangelion either I'd definitely put Eva before I ever put Haruhi in. As a teen that hasn't been ever introduced to anime I've known about Astro Boy as a character for a long time, but I had to get about a year or 2 into anime to even discover the existence of Haruhi because even critically, although it was praised a lot, it wasn't really this huge thing that everyone that got into anime could easily know of.
on top of that he was at first against having Evangelion or any Ghibli on it, and then went on to suggest Attack on Titan and Death Note, he's a little basic but doesn't realize it
also (unlike Death Note) Citizen Kane is actually really REALLY good, Connor should watch it before clowning on critics for putting it on their list
Haruhi was the Evangelion for the 2000s. Extremely controversial and divisive but still a significant time period in anime history.
The popularity it had back then is the same as Demon Slayer is now if not higher. A SOL anime achieving this feat is remarkable and should be celebrated as much as the others.
@@greyfox4838Death Note is good though. Yes it goes downhill in the 2nd half but it's still worthy to put on the list.
I love how these boys never fails to made my blood pressure rise

Hot take for anime. AKIRA is over-rated.

@@itsspookieCringe
I think their definition of 7 wonders is off. To me they did more of a Mount Rushmore where these are pillars or influential anime that had impacts on the medium. 7 wonders should be more monolithic, stand alone to be how great/beautiful/awe inspiring would be. No one goes around saying how influential the coliseum, or great wall or chichen itza are rather than saying "wow these things are amazing". Akira would still fit, and honestly Death Note could have a strong argument.
I watched Death Note years after it aired, and yes is dated, and yes it has a rather simple story with a lot of cool narrative gadgets and really over the top characters, but I always thought that watching that series when it aired, on a weekly basis, it would have been amazing. Kinda like Breaking Bad, Lost or SNK. In that regards, and agreeing with you, I would have liked Slam Dunk to be on the list, but the anime didn't finish, and the manga is clearly better.
I had the same thought. It's weird to me that Legend of the Galactic Heroes didn't even get a mention. I suppose it wasn't influential, but it was super unique.
Yeah they should've focused on what can not be replicated again and what majority of anime can't offer anymore. Wonders should have rare feelings to it.
Code Geass or No Game No Life would be better in my opinion than Death Note. The whole premise of characters being insanely intelligent is done better in those two shows than Death Note imo.
@@ullenlaishram code geass maybe but i wouldnt put ngnl with death note in that category lol.
"Influential" and "need to be watched" are two totally separate things. Garnt was on the right track mentioning Eva: these were supposed to be selections in which the format makes the experience, therefore anime.
The speech on moving forward on TTGL
The most creative use of time travel on Stein's;Gate
The dilemma in living that is in Death Parade
The Dempsey roll on Hajime no Ippo
The best ending to a protagonist in Code Geass
Hell, the most iconic betrayal on Anime history on Berserk
Most of my takes are from the Golden Age, and it's called like that for a reason. All my fellow anime eaters should know them. So many good things came at that time, and now that there is not so much shame in liking them, most people should experience it
you are underage
@@johnpanicker7590Bro, I disagree with him as well but dude joined in 2007, he'd have to have started his channel before the age of 2 to be underage.
Agree with you, add Ping Pong the animation for doing things out of passion. All those flash you more than lets say Attack on Titan that is a great story but not outstanding in any aspect.
I would change the Code Geass to the best ending to a anime, cause having as protagonist would be subjective, bc that could be any anime ending
@@Majima669 I wouldn't put it in the list at all. It's a good ending but everything leading to it was pretty bad. I'd slot in AOT though.
Cowboy Bebop was my gateway show into anime. As it was for a lot of people. Also, the music in this anime is the best of any show ever! I immediately went out and bought the soundtrack album after watching and it is still one of my favorite albums. Yoko Kanno is a genius composer and I also love her work with The Seatbelts.
Based good sir
Fair, it was basically on all the time during that night time anime slot, and western enough for normies to also watch. It's not my favorite by any means, but definitely beats deathnote for 'introduction' anime by a long margin.
I only got 3 eps into death note before dropping it. (though I did get a bit further in the manga), but Cowboy Bebop I downloaded the movie, subbed, even though the version of the anime I had seen up to that point was English dubbed and I got whiplash from the difference.
Conner is so right for the fact that if you look at this list with an outside point of view, it just looks like the most basic 'best anime ever' list some random news website made
He was the first person to shoot down any of the spicey takes and picks though. So, you reap what you sow.
he had the most boring takes though. this is a pretty bad episode in terms of the criteria being so inconsistent lol the conversation is kind of circling around the whole time
@@KingR098 tbf if me and my chaps suddenly had a "whats the mount rushmore of anime" discussion it would just turn out exactly like this. this isnt really like a political debate betweens candidates which needs to be studied yknow
And if you look at 10 different lists of the greatest wonders of the world, a lot of the answers are going to be “basic.” When you make a list of the influential animes of all time, most of them are going to be basic answers bc if it’s influential it probably means they’re popular.
Well, yeah, being famous and influential was an important criteria. Of course they would pick mainstream anime. That only says that the influence anime had over culture was mostly mainstream, which isn't a hot take given it made its splash in the era of globalization.
They should've just listed 7 old anime wonders and 7 new anime wonders 😅
Yeah that would be good
that wouldn't happen, cuz Connor seems like the type that refuses to watch old media (anime or movies, heck he doesn't read books) so he won't want to do a 7 old wonder
@@greyfox4838 Nah, he could do it very easily as shown in the video. In fact, it's what he hated the most: he wanted a broader spectrum of animes.
If you ask Connor to list 7 very influential old animes, he could do it in 5 minutes and he even talked about many in the podcast right there.
the fun part is not the list, but the banter
@@dzelloNo
I like how it's a discussion about most influential and all the choices are just the most accessible, popular and commercially successful anime that came out to capitalise on already emerging genres.
It’s so interesting hearing them talking about how scary it is to go South America for them. To me aside from a few countries in the east of Asia. As a Colombian myself I thought it was scary to go to Asia in general. Always wanted to go but I also hear so many bad things. Maybe we are just scared of the unknown?
where was that fear from? Asia is a vast place, East Asia is known for having like most of the safest countries in the world whereas it's a bit of the opposite in South America
@@KingR098 Have you been to South America? Only asking because you might be taking a couple cities in a bad situation and letting that colour your whole opinion. Sao Paulo Brazil or more recent issues in regions of Ecuador for example have a lot of problems. As someone who has lived in a lot of Latin America. I can assure you the vast majority of countries are as safe as Europe or Asia. Safety abroad is far more about knowing what areas of countries to avoid. I've got a decade of working abroad as a teacher around the world, Paris is the only place I've gotten frequent issues. Doesn't make the whole of France dangerous, just means I was in the wrong part of the city at the wrong time.
the problem is that you probably get your perception of the world from Western media and Western media is the biggest propaganda machine in mankind's history, it's propaganda is so good that no one notices that it's blatant propaganda
Definitely a big factor is the unknown. At the end of the day there's going to be danger wherever you go but there's also going to be some nice people wherever you go. All you can really do is do your research, be prepared and let your own experiences dictate how you see things. I think it's good to take other's advice but a little restrictive to let other people's experiences determine how you see things. There needs to be a balance!
One word: guns. Turns out when your big neighbor up north has more guns than population, they leak guns to all of America. You aren’t gonna be held at gunpoint or be worried about being kidnapped by a cartel in most Asian countries.

Honestly I was surprised Initial D wasn't mentioned in the "Sports" (and i use Sports loosely lol) category. I feel like it has gotten an entire generation of auto/JDM enthusiasts into anime in the early 2000's. Not to mention that I feel like Eurobeat was skyrocketed into the anime limelight because of this series
We wouldn't have drift or Fast & Furious without Initial D
@@phazttraxx1980Fast and furious would have definitely existed as that was based on the SoCal import tuner scene and featured/loosely based on actual active street racers like Greg Leone (irl version of Dominic Toretto who used a CRX and is used as an extra car in the movie + was the car used to record engine sounds for Brian’s Eclipse). Remember Mischief 2000 as well like with that whole thing too. Sure, Fast and Furious “Tokyo Drift” wouldn’t have existed without Initial D being a thing though but don’t think for a second that the first 2 fast and furious films exist because of Initial D lol
Initial d became its own genre in my eyes, there’s nothing made that gotten that popular and for being how niche it is if it’s just talked about as a anime. Its also a arcade cabinet series, yes it put a whole genre of music(eurobeat) out, there’s other manga out there that covers touge and street racing, I love and hate this series, for being made so popular in General car culture
Drifting isn't a sport to you? Okay. I suppose photography wouldn't be a skill or gargling the ABC's be national news worthy to you either... this is a joke by the way, I'm not really talking down to you do not believing Initial D is a sports anime. It's really more of a car anime, really. There are also people woh would argue that racing isn't a sport and that difting doesn't qualify as racing, thus can never be a sport. It's really just not that interesting of an anime regardless of the memes to be honest.

I took these questions to my wife who had no clue what this episode was about to discuss and surprisingly her list was 90% accurate to what Garnt and Joey were arguing and even mentioned Death Note like Connor. We grew up in an era where a lot of these great shows were blossoming and only now we can see what they've become and how successful they are. Definitely different from Western popularity to Japanese for example Haruhi. I can say I didnt watch it, but know how popular and influential it became especially in terms of story and character design. No real perfect answers, but everything they listed could be argued. But Connor c'mon man Jojo is great but its not a wonder of anime despite the memes like damn the show needed a full reboot and memes to make a comeback cause its weird af and only those who overcome that can enjoy it.
Connor: "No, Sailor Moon is too cliche"
So Akira, Evangelion, and Dragon Ball are not?
Glad at least Joey and Garnt made some attempts to include non-shonen options
44:57 K-on inspired some of the most famous seiyuus to voice act, pretty damn influential to me. Thanks Garnt for at least fighting for it 😞🖐

It's criminal that Initial D is not on that list. Sparked a whole culture as well as memes still relevant today.
Haikyuu is same
I think the guys have to remember they have actual money so they’d mostly only experience the nicer areas from Mexico, Brasil and Colombia. There’d be noticeable differences but definitely leaning too hard on people saying don’t go and ignoring the millions of tourists that visit them.
They should have done one for each major catagory of anime. Movie, action, romance, drama, slice of life, comedy, horror.
Spirited away, One Piece, Oregairu Snafu (maybe Nisekoi), LoGH, K-on!, Nichijou, Parasyte
That's all I could think about when I was listening to this
Horror is weak, it would be monster and that's it
Drama is also mid
Dont forget isekai, theres only like 2 options but
The answer for Garnt's lateness is probably his adhd lol
I used to beat myself up for being late to everything all my life until i got diagnosed and found out that being late to stuff is literally out of your control eith adhd most of the time so that's probably why its an issue for Garnt
The part about friends giving you a time that is earlier for you than for everyone else is such a shared ADHD experience
Joey as someone who like hiking I and wants to visit South America, the Patagonia region is vast and beautiful. I’ve been to Machu Pichu and It definitely deserve to be one anyone’s bucket list it was an amazing trip. Im an American, a Latin American but still American and all my trips to Mexico and El Salvador and Peru I don’t think it’ll be any different than visiting any other country. Same way most people stay away from skid row visiting LA just do some research and don’t put yourself in a bad situation.
Wow, I can’t wait for a calm episode where they all agree and give genuine advice!
We'll be waiting for a while lmao
That's The Trash Taste Experience.
Then it wouldn't be "trash taste"
Now that they told Garnt about the 15 mins thing, now they have to tell Garnt to come in 30mins earlier to equalize.
I spent a week in the Galapagos Islands, hopping around on a 20 person boat. Insanely fun especially since half of the boat was friends and family. Def recommend but beware of sea sickness
Death Note getting kicked off the list for Haruhi is such an in character move. The actually Haruhi would have absolutely pulled that against all advise to the contrary. It is so fitting for her to get on the list that way.
Guys as a Colombian, there are SOOO many places that are both safe and worth it to visit, mainstream and not, don't let rumors and stories scare you. Obviously be careful and don't be stupid, but south america as a whole has some of the most amazing features on earth, is crazy cheap compared to what you are used to, and people would be most welcoming. Think about it as the south east asian countries you have visited but just in America. You'll have a great time.

Can't blame him the way it was aired in the west even if you did watch it, it wouldn't make any sense because the majority of the episodes are out of order

As an Indian American, the fact that Garnt starts "getting ready" at the time when he's expected to meet up is the most Indian thing I've ever heard and I have to deal with this constantly with my friends who do the same thing lmao
He's not Indian tho, most likely an ADHD thing

South east asian thing
@@user-sg6ii3eo9i nah, I think it's pretty common all around the world
I was in an ethnic internship and a friend called it 'colored people time' lmao. It's even more prevalent in Miami/South Florida. You have to plan for every event to start 30 minutes late, by padding the initial time with casual talk. It's actually kinda nice with everyone having low expectations. My parents were always late to everything too, but yeah ultimately I think it's an ADHD thing
I'm still watching but I am so happy that Haruhi was discussed, thank you guys! This has literally been my favorite Anime since it has aired for the first time and I am happy that it and it's influence on the industry is not forgotten :)
Garnt was extra British in this episode lmao i love it
I'm surprised they didn't mention Urusei Yatsura when considering romcoms, great series and massively influential with Lum being one of the first proper WAIFU waifus.
Fr I was surprised that wasn't mentioned
It's a normie channel mostly for normie anime watchers, maybe like 30 people would know what Urusei Yatsura even is.

I am shocked Hunter x Hunter wasn’t even mentioned. It is the perfect mix between influence, popularity, and quality to be one of the 7 wonders. In terms of influence, it has clearly inspired modern Shonen, which are now the most popular anime on the planet, narratively a ton. The subversion of genre norms and the world building of a lot of the biggest modern anime’s owe a lot to HxH, and these things are usually pretty important parts of their stories. It’s also way more popular than people realize. It’s not unlikely for me to go out and randomly see someone with a Spider Troupe hoodie on. It makes sense because it’s a show that pretty much anybody who gets into a Shonen will watch and it’s a lot easier for an older audience to get into than other older Shonen. In terms of quality, I don’t even have to tell you, it’s one of the goats. HxH got severely overlooked.
bro spoke out my heart
Agree totally, nostalgia in an anime
I feel like they completely forgot about hunter x hunter :o

Chile is an incredible place to visit. You have mountains, lakes, rivers, desserts, big cities, tasty food, great people (very alcoholic too so be careful 😂).
"This list is too safe/too bland/not spicy enough"
IT'S A TOP 7 INFLUENTIAL ANIME LIST. IT GOTTA BE BREAD AND BUTTER BRO
The fact steins gate wasnt mentioned once is a crime. Lol
Also Madoka and Intial D. Intial D revolutionized CG and sound design and its music and visuals are still referenced today
As much as I adore Steins; Gate, I don't think it qualifies to be called influential. It is amazing and most people that watched it through will agree with that to varying degree. Also it's a bit too niche in a similar vain as Gintama. You need to be a bit more used to otaku culture to appreciate a lot of the banter. Otherwise the early half is going to intrigue you at best and turn you off at best.
It is simply outshone by flashier and bigger anime franchises.
But yes, they could at least have mentioned S;G. But that might just argue to my last point. xD
Connor literally was the one who said it's not just about the popularity but as soon as Deathnote is removed. All he talks about is the popularity 😂 I can't with him sometimes. I agree with Conor a lot, but he also loves to troll like this god dammit ❤
1:55:20 For real tho, My family and I sometimes do this with my mom because she always cleans or tries to do something up to the last minute possible whenever we have to go to an appointment or party
Peruvian here! Knowing how much the boys like food, they should really visit Peru, amazing and very different regional food. Even if you don't have the time to go everywhere, just going to Lima you can get almost everything. Lima is great for food, but obviously for tourism, Cusco is a must.
Death Note into AoT into One Punch Man progression was what made anime basically mainstream
and then Demonslayer
I’d say you are missing the first two phases (maybe 3)
1: Dragon Ball
2: Big 3 (OP, Naruto, Bleach)
3: Death Note and HxH (2011)
4: AoT
5: One Punch, My Hero
… that flow of series is what peaked its global popularity. And now the new line up of series like JJK, Demon Slayer, BC, Chainsaw, etc are all capitalizing on the aftermath of the series of booms that happened prior
This is the kind of heated discussion about anime I'm sure everyone expected to see when this podcast first started
I hardly call it heated. In fact it’s easily the most civilized conversation where the people actual have a deep knowledge of the medium.
Garnt is real and valid, he has the ADHD lateness curse, and has a hard time waking up in the morning. ONE OF US!
For romance, it’s gotta be Hana Yori Dango. Look at the number of live action adaptations it has gotten not only in Japan, but also in Korea, China, Taiwan, and even Thailand.
This episode made me realize how many times Garnt will just literally say the same thing Joey or Connor just said, right after they say it lol.
He does it so much, just replies with the same statement reworded as if it was his point. I honestly wonder if the boys notice.
someone‘s gotta do a compilation
he's the adhd friend doing his best to contribute: he has a similar problem when formulating a question sometimes and ends up asking things that have already been answered but the way he gets to the question is so roundabout and filled with fluff that they let him continue till it gets kinda awkward (the most recent eyepatchwolf ep was filled with it and kinda doured the vibes for bits). I love Garnt but its REALLY bad some eps
he does it to have time to process his next words
they definitley do conner looks occasionally annoyed when garnt does it@@Elijah.
When I think of 2000s anime I think of Samurai Champloo. The music, the style, the pacing, the fighting etc.. perfect

I don't think I've ever wanted to throw hands with Connor more than this lmao, he better put some goddamn respect on my GOAT Usagi 💀
Connor's dislike of Dragon ball is fucking WEIRD, I'll never understand it
Connors? It honestly felt like garnt was more against it here. But ya, idk how he said it wasn’t trending when ultra instinct became a meme, broke the streaming site, and collectively decreased cartel activity in Mexico for a day
Imagine Joey's dad as a guest on the podcast. Has that been mentioned before?
I needa Trash Taste Sports Special where the bois try each of their past sports together. Tennis, Basketball, and Football
1:42:30 There was a travel show on British tv a while back called The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan where Romesh (a British comedian) went and stayed in countries not usually known for their tourism or normally avoided for travelling which I enjoyed very much and would recommend checking out for more unconventional travel destinations.
I love how Garnt has transpired the good old Digibro traste with the Haruhi and K-On shoutouts 😂❤
7 wonders of anime turned into most influential anime real fast
Grant being suspicious about of South America while he has been in Thailand is funny, because here in latam we fear South East Asia in the same way
As someone who didnt grow up watching sailor moon I would def put Sailor moon on the list. It's crazy how big its reach is. Almost all of the people I know who draw say they were inspired to do so because of sailor moon. I bet there's more sailor moon fans working at disney then any of the other anime listed. Also personally I would put Mob Psycho 100 in my 7 wonders of Anime. Its just way too good.
eh only s 1 of mob was banging
What I loved the most about the episodes on the Sidemen set is that they can have this screen to look at, it's funnier somehow when the boys get to look at stuff to proof something or talk about something.
i think if you want a comedy anime to be put up there, Nichijou can definitely make the cut.
Nichijou is so under reated. Its one I always recommend to friends. Also, Chio's School Road.
@@FPSadict1612038 it's underrated mainstream-wise, but for people who are at least knee deep in anime i think the majority of them thinks highly of Nichijou
Gintama, Grand Blue and Prison School are the goated in terms of pure comedy. You can also add Sket Dance there too I guess. Nichijou is good but I think rank it's rougly equal with Daily Lives of Highschool boys which I wouldn't put in the goated comedy list
@@justmeagain9302 we just see things differently i guess lmao the thing is when the sentence is "goated comedy", i would think of anime that's purely comedy, Gintama would closely make the cut for me, but Grand Blue and Prison School are way further down the list.
i would even put Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou above Gintama if we're talking about pure comedy shows.
Listening to your bucket list, I can guarantee you guys will enjoy Nepal. Theres lots of places to hike/trek, beautiful views, 2nd/3rd world country experience(many people can understand english tho), historical places that isnt British influenced, cheap everything, Garnt can also visit Lumbini (birthplace of Buddha), bungee jumping/ rafting for you connor
And very polite people. And most of all new food takes for you guys. Also I just really wish more people visited my country. 🇳🇵🇳🇵

Thank you for the content, sir

Thank you for this warzone of a comment section
"monogatari?" "Nach, too niche" "i tried"
My whole life.
As many other south americans have said in the comments, south america is great to visit and explore, there are so many things to see and experience, but will agree that is not safe if you dont know how to transverse through the citys. The best way is to have someone from the country to show you around at least for your first visit so that you know the ropes on what ti avoid. Knowing the language would help massively, I am from Ecuador and even though English is supposed to be taught trough lots of schools, it is not something really people know. If you know Spanish you will be fine, of course you have to know that spanish is not the same across the continent, one word can mean something completely different on another country all though most of us would understand what you tried to say, but still better to avoid some words. Also, being “third world” countries doesnt mean we dont have amazing places to eat or to stay, more than anything it means the economic state of the country and the willingness of international companies to also make their business within the country. And for tourists you can find so many great places to stay. Of course I would recommend Ecuador, we have 4 different regions within the single country, we have the coastal region with great beaches, the mountain region with one of the talles mountains/volcanoes (chimborazo) in the world, we have the rain forest region which is also part of the amazonas and finally we have the galapagos islands which you guys have previously discussed the now extinct galapagos tortoises that used to live there, these islands are incredibly beautiful and I cannot recommend them enough. As well Ecuador’s food has so many ranges due to the four regions that are simply amazing. But besides my own country South America is a place you definitely should visit, you only need to do your research on security measurements and if possible get someone local to show you around, but it is really an amazing continent to visit
The issue with a lot of central and southern American countries, is they are two VERY distinct sides.
Their is the tourist side, which are nice, safe, and very distinctly SEPARATE from the actual goings on of the country, and then there is the REAL day to day life. It's not that you instantly get stabbed or shot or something if you wander into the more "real" parts of the country, it's that if you haven't grown up in these places, its VERY obvious you're a tourist, and it makes you susceptible to the things that natives of a country know to avoid or such. They are wonderful places to visit, but unless you have a directive native helping you out, it's best to ensure you keep to safer, tourist, areas.
I think Fruits Basket should be considered to fill the shoujo/romance/slice of life slot
I was thinking the same thing.
Nana should fill the shoujo/romance/slice of life. It literally was the best selling manga of 2005.
Kaichou wa Maid Sama has entered the chat.
fruits basket, ouran highschool, vampire knight and shugo chara was my shoujo era back in the 2008s lol
I agree, not my favorite, but the remake that came out of nowhere years later and got a full adaptation, which is rare for shojo romance, made history for the genre and has lit a spark of hope for shojo romance fans.
I just got back from basic training. Now I’m back here watching the boys.
I'm 100% a Garnt when it comes to showering, I always try to be quick but end up being in for like 15-20 minutes cos I just end up enjoying the water hitting me, and start spacing out. I've begun to just wake up earlier to accommodate LOL
Also I feel like there should have been two lists, one for anime that revolutionised things and one thats a peak example of its subject
Can’t believe the boys forgot to even mention Ghost Stories - English Dub. That was goated especially for the VA community. 😂
I love when the boys make a “Is Fortnite overrated” type of episode
So for those who don't want to watch the whole thing, they put:
Akira - Evangelion - Sailor Moon - Dragon Ball - Gundam - Attack on Titan - Haruhi Suzumiya (it was originally Death Note but they removed it despite Conner disagreeing)
