I am new player and just so happened to run into a guild doing this. It was an awesome first world boss event.
New tool to use, sold on the tp, (World Portal Device). Tip #2, When gathering barrels at Cobalt, you can use a skimmer mount to deliver it.

As a "World Boss" as long as you have commanders that know what they are doing and calls out, this is very easy. I've done it enough to know, but for new players.. it's all colors, what do I do, when to attack!!

One of the unique challenges anyone could enjoy ,requires a lot of team work ,I did it a lot of times already and you can meet some commanders that know how to lead and some commanders that still struggle with english ..add a couple of attention whores that don't understand that they're not in charge and it can turn into a disaster .
This looks so stressful. hard enough to time events like Dragonstand xD. Also, does anyone know if you can fly across the water on a mount with the barrels now?
Dunno if you’re still looking for an answer, but yes, you can use skimmer/skyscale/griffon to get across the water while carrying a keg. And it’s not hard, just listen to the commanders! :)
Several guilds do it daily ... and allow anyone to join.
