I have completed Heart of Thorn story, but I could not find "Knight of the Thorn" achievement, even when using the search function, is there anything i'm missing?

Apologies, I should have been clearer about how to start it. After completing the story, you should get mail from a character named Ridhais (it may take a few days for it to arrive). Talking to him in your home instance will unlock the achievements.

@@rahulsasi4424after talk to ridhal and follow trough the story till u need to meet someone in home instance, u could regain caladbolg from miyani(mystic forge merchant) with 20 elonian wine. I forget, beetween 20 or 10 elonian wine.
As an veteran player i did not need this quide but it was so well made i stayed and still watched it 😂

I like how you can get into Raids AND Strikes without needing to go Ascended... LOTS of super cheap exotic options can get a new player into endgame comfortably. It's always nice when the barrior to endgame is very attainable for new players. We need to be bringing these folks into endgame with us as old folks move on from the game. It's the only way games like this stay alive.
Hard agree-plus, training raids/strikes/etc is actually super fun.
On the topic of Exotic gear, the recent patch made it even easier for new players to gear up in orange, with the new WvW vendor selling almost everything as stat-selectable.

You can craft the Quiver of a Thousand Arrows in the Mystic Forge.. which you can put a 2nd infusion slot on.
I don't know if I've ever told you, but you have a very nice voice Caide - I would also note that the HoT specialisation weapon collections are now some of the more pricy ascended weapons in the game
Acturlly you also get a weapon coffer as the once who is in Wizards vault by doing the first part of Season of the Dragon. So if you want the legendary amulet this is a sweet way to also get one weapon

very nice guide man! thank you, a lil piece of critique is the mix of the video the bgm is a lil too loud and gets in the way of the VO at times.
BTW. there is also an achievement for ascended berserker backpack which only requires gold and use of the trading post
you need to buy like 12 or 16 different pieces of berserker gear and you get a free ascended berserker backpack

the backpack is called Antique Dragon's Drape btw.
The ascended back you make from season 1 attack in lions arch is very easy to make. It just requires you to repeat attack on lions arch and often times the zone is empty. Just check regularly.
It's a decent option, but a tad expensive and it can be hard to get groups for BFLA as you pointed out. I still need to make the alt color versions...

As a new/ returning player after not touching the game for 10 years, I always get the tip to buy rings and amulets by using the laurel vendor. I only play like a few months from now so I startet after log in rewards had been removed. Is there an alternative easy way to get laurel ? Because in the few months I’ve been playing now, I was only able to acquire 5 laurel just by playing the game (story, world exploration). I didnt do any raids and strikes yet… I’m a bit scared 😅

The old log-in rewards have been replaced with the Wizard's Vault. It'll give you some Laurels if you complete most of your weeklies, and you can also spend some Astral Acclaim to buy Laurels as well.
Side note: Blood Ruby Backpack, Band & Pendant can be stat swapped for just 100 unbound magic.

I know the rates are pretty low but you can get weapons from farming rifts (t2,t3) too.

@@sscaide it's only skyscale weapon series. It's there in the achievement section I don't recall the name of the collection. I've gotten 1 before. Not sure of the stats whether they are random or fixed. I got a rabid version.

Do you mean Badges of Honor? They're great for getting ascended trinkets, and you can use them to purchase full Exotic gear, but they can't be used for ascended weapons afaik.
I completed heart of thorns like a week ago and still have not gotten a letter from Ridhals is there some other way to start the quest or am I missing something entirely.
It seems I was slightly wrong, the mail is from Warden Leide, not Ridhais. It should be titled "Memorial for Firstborn Trahearne". talking to them will then send you to Ridhais.

I will stick to my exotic gear as I don't do pvp, wvw, raids, dungeons, strikes, fractals etc.. So what do I do - everything else of course!
Just complete the daily and weekly missions in the wizard vault, bro. So it's easy to get the ascended set.
Does anyone know if the legendary starter kits is fixed or can I buy it now and wait for 4 new choices?
Most likely fixed to the rotation you picked from.
No way to know for sure until next quarter, but from a programming perspective I imagine it'd be easier to make a new item with different choices than to swap out the choices with the quarter change.
It is so bloody difficult as you had so many currencies.
Sorry if you found it confusing-there was a lot to go over. I may eventually make guides on each individual category in the future so I can go more in-depth on how each of the currencies work. I'd be glad to answer any questions you have here as well.

Those 5 there are the fastest and easiest to get :)
I intended to lump them in with the other LW3 back items, though I suppose I should have pointed out that they take karma rather than Unbound Magic. Either way, the average player is unlikely to run out of either of those resources.

Ppl should also understand that "quickly" in gw2 isn't the same as other games
i can never find people doing raids in this game, it's a bit of a shame, the LFG function is almost always dead, Fractals have been the main endgame content i do and the occasional strike but raids? seems no one does them :(
From what I've seen, there are people grouping up to run (and even learn) raids, but they all organize on external Discords, like Raid Academy, Skein Gang, etc. (I assume you're talking about NA servers)
There definitely are plenty of raiders out there, but it depends a lot on the time of day you check LFG, and how fast groups are filling.
As another commenter pointed out, more and more groups are also moving to external platforms to set up groups. I'd recommend joining one of those external groups if you want to dip your feet into raids.

@@Raindrop511 Good luck! As one of the trainers there I can personally vouch for XL, I also know some of the guys from Gamer Haven and they're chill.
You honestly have to get some gw2 discords, least if you're NA. NA seems not put a lot of stuff in LFG and more in certain Discords.

I don't understand why ascended gear is only 6% better than exotic gear. The reward to effort ratio is just not there. I have owned this game since launch and outside of rings and trinkets still don't have any ascended gear.
It definitely is a bit odd, but I think the purpose is to keep endgame content more casual-friendly while still providing a tier of expensive, top-end gear. The difference is small enough that players in exotics can still perform well, but 6% across all your gear is enough for top players to go out of their way for it.
@@sscaide It's missing a crucial point in the reason for grinding gear. There's no dopamine rush in getting a measly 6% bump in stats. Does anyone get a rush when they win 6 cents from a poker machine?
Also ascended gear starts dropping in high fractals, but you need ascended gear to do high fractals. So by the time it starts dropping you don't need it anymore.
It's so ass backwards and nobody seems bothered by it. It's my only real complaint about the game.
@@sscaidethe problem is when you want gear to do open world ( celestial ), to do raid/fractals ( many, powers/condi) and for WvW. That’s a lot of sets of ascended gear needed
@@mortaluxWell, I think that's part of why Ascended is such a small increase-so that it isn't strictly required for each different build you make.
I have finished POF last week and there was no ascended back piece as reward. Am I missing something?
The backpiece is from the 'Raise the Banners' collection. There are four different ones depending on which choice you made early on in the story.
Check the Basic Collections section of the achievements panel. Completing the collection will require a few extra steps beyond just beating the story, though that's the bulk of it.
