Legolas' quick reflexes actually best home in Selvala...
or marwyn, got my booty slapped about 2 hours ago by marwyn with legolas' quick reflexes....
I trust this evaluation, since it was provided by award winning science educator Kyle Kibler
or 5c Sisay, which is just the better selvala deck

I actually can't believe my decklist is on a play to win video right now! 😮
The pako/haldan deck sounds like a casual deck that stumbled into a CEDH tournament. It has incredible tech that is meant to go as fast and aggro as possible and I LOVE IT
Pako Haldan is a super slept on CEDH deck imo
@@hAxZa100no it’s not lol, when it first came out. Everyone played it
@@hAxZa100I play pako Haldan a ton and it’s great, so much fun
I will say that pako deck is definitely playing some crazy cards, most namely the lack of Dockside
I think an interesting thing about Pako/Haldan decks is they seem to never brick. With the commanders out you can always play good value pieces from other decks, so if you have a Swarm Intelligence or some big goofy spell stranded in your hand you can still be doing things every turn
The thing with mists is that you can replicate to target the same thing twice and basically make it uncounterable, like pay 6 and target 2 and 3 twice.
Mists of Lorien was part of the Holiday Scene box, a special product with 24 new cards that came out a few months after initial set release
it's going straight into my jhoira deck
I think the reason Mists of Lorien got past everyone was because it was only in the LOTR scene bundles. That product went under a lot of people's noses since it didn't get talked about all that much outside of Legolas's Quick Reflexes.
Love the podcast episodes. No matter the topic, it’s always a blast!
Would love to see if some of the pilots could be brought on to discuss deck decisions in the future
One thing with Vendilion Clique it does not stop Thassa's Oracle. The card gets put on the bottom of the library then drawn so they'd just redraw it.
Another great line with Aboleth Spawn is that you can respond to an Orcish Bowmaster etb and use the damage to kill the original Orcish Bowmaster before the card draw goes off. I love that line in casual decks and hadn’t considered that it was so good in cEDH
Pako Haldan taking turns is a wonderful surprise, Temur is always strong in casual, nice to break even more into cEDH.
29:30 To clarify what I think Cam was saying about Moraug, Fury of Akoum: if you get the landfall trigger on your precombat main phase, creature untapping and the additional combat phase will happen before your normal combat and they WON'T UNTAP when your normal combat starts
36:55 Also, CAM, use noxious revival to put cards on top
Love that my Local Shop was talked about. Yup, Sisay can pivot
Mists of lorien seems great tbh. Talion with bloodchief ascension is interesting too, u/b getting new representation is always cool. Love the diversity of Sissay lists and its got me thinking about building it.
Thanks for all the videos I love watching yall.
Love bloodchief ascension in my nekusar wheel deck. It's not quite CEDH power, but it's VERY effective, and for only 1 black pip. I also love Stern Scolding, LOTS of different common targets fit it's criteria.
And it is a 2 card combo with mindcrank
Talion uses trick bind to not kill itself off of a thoracle win, because talion is not a may
That’s not why it played, but could be used for that
Love the podcasts! Keep em coming!
When Talion came out went through the over 10 most popular decks, and on average 2 was 4-6 cards more frequent then 1.
Aboleth Spawn loves Atraxas and Tivits.
Nice to see you guys talk about these cards!
Vegan MtG brothers unite! Also love the Nightman shirt Cam!
I love hearing about these tEDH decks and the speculation on certain cards. Pako and Haldan is a deck I’ve been very curious about and this has been the final push for me to build it. Definitely think Dockside is cut due to the sheer number of red decks out there, you’re almost guaranteed to see one from another player or grab one off Pako triggers.
Please keep these kinds of videos coming! Also would love to hear Tyler’s take on them as well, you three work well together.
For me, Stubborn Denial is an auto-include if I’m playing Blue and my commander has 4+ power. In those decks it’s basically another Fierce Guardianship.
I'd be honored to have you guys review my deck when I finally win one! - WoundedSatellite
10/10 would review ;)
Cam’s shirt is pimpin
love you guys! Best Magic channel on TH-cam! Y'all would be the people I would love to see at my local card shop
Coolest and funniest channel, also yalls connection is amazing
Love that you guys started this.
Dylan looked so baked in that opener lmao
Bloodchief Ascension is basically a 1 mana Sheoldred in the right list. And it has combo potential in slightly more fringe play. It's definitely slept on a lot.
Also, absolutely LOVED watching you guys get hyped by Pako/Haldan. I've been really loving playing that deck for a while now, but I haven't brought it into many competitive pods, but I'll probably do some tweaking to it and try it out soon.
29:31 You can use its ability even when playing your land in the first main phase. The additional combat starts before the original combat phase. But yes, the dont untap from the additional combat for the original combat phase
Temujin's list when it was updated included a Tarrian's Soulcleaver in place of Mystical Tutor and it seems really nice to play with
As a haldan and pako pilot, I've seen conversation around potentially running 0 creatures it messes with consistency of hits on your side they usually are feels bads, and it's sometimes doesn't do the thing.
Everything you just described about the pako and haldan list sounds like the exact same as my casual list, just with a load of extra turns spells/ faster mana
Nobody can handle the dog🐕
There are more staple cards in the format that trigger 1 than 2, and they'll both be really close most of the time. The best choice is going to be game-state and pod dependent, and will be helpful to know what lines your opponent's are likely to take and choose accordingly. And of course, if you're worried about food chain, name 3, it hits FC and all 3 cfe creatures.
And bloodchief ascension in Talion's 99 is a win condition. It needs to be removed on sight or you will die to it.
I believe storm puts copies on the stack, not cast? So brainfreeze only triggers Talion once, not once for each copy.
Now I know why dillion is so good at magic.... he's got vegan powers 😮
Love this kind of segment..
Hopefully it would be a half a year thing..
Then the next video upload would be the real gameplay off all the decks of the tournament winner.. from 1st month to 6th month..
Both Mists of Lòrien and Legolas's Quick Reflexes were from the LOTR holiday boxes, these two cards and Galadriel's Dismissal were really the only spicy things from it, but it was more about the flavor/art in the first place
Great video as always chaps
I've been playing Tevesh/Kraum for over a year and I'm SO STOKED to see it take down a tournament. Love Ian's list, pretty much made all the changes to make mine match as soon as it dropped lol
"no one knows what bloodchief does". Me: running bloodchief / mindcrank / mnemonic betrayal lines for as long as I can remember.
Mists of Lorien let’s goooo I won a game by dualcastering an opponent’s time warp then mists my own dualcaster to win with heat shimmer
Great episode. Would love to see more especially if i top a tourny lol
Really love your podcasts :)
Have you thought about making a designated „Battle-Deck“?
The only one to see play on cEDH is Invasion of Ikoria, but does it make sense to go 5Colour-Combat focused for mediocre payoffs?
The mdfcs are also lands you can pitch to fow or whatever.
Mists of lorien actually feels like huge boost for mono blue decks and i heavily agree with dylans moustache.
The idea that bloodchief ascension doesn't trigger on your opponents reliably puzzles me.
Between pain lands, fetch lands, shock lands, and burning life to draw cards like necropotence, I would assume it would trigger consistently.
for mists of lorien is great for 0 as well, make people have to waste treasures and recast mox's their next turn especially if you can follow it with a rhystic study or mystic remora
Dylan: I've never heard of Reaver Cleaver.
Casual EDH fans: Hold my beer.
How does Niv Mizzet Supreme work with split cards like fire//ice? Can they be cast with flashback since they are 2 colors in other zones, or is this like Lier with adventures where the card on the stack no longer qualifies for jump-start?
Mists you can also wipe all tokens
My buddy Nate has a Kraum Tevesh deck and that deck slaps
I might be late to this but as a casual pako and haldan player. Unless you’re gonna gilded drake an opponents dockside pako will just exile it as it’s a creature.
You guys should really try building a Liesa Shroud of Dusk Cedh deck. It basically does what talion does but you swap the combo potential and draw for more life total pressuring and stax (not to mention an easier time recasting your commander). I randomly decided to throw my casual/high power Liesa deck into a Cedh pod and it has been performing way better than I had expected. As long as you can land a stax piece early and then follow it up with Liesa, you can slow the game down to a point where you can just start beating people up with your commander + other tax effects like sheoldred, rug of smothering, painful quandary, and bloodchief. If the meta continues to stay at a slower pace with beefy commanders being relevant then I think a stax deck that has a beefy commander and loves slower games could really thrive and it might be worth checking out
I think I’m trying Stubborn Denial in blue farm now. Karum does activate its better ability. That Pako/Halden deck, tho… 🔥 😂
oh my god this is my 72929 watched episode and finding out dylan is vegan has made my DAY!!! determined to meet you one day
Derevi can also be used with Mount Doom, another wincon.
More thoughts on tevesh Malcom?? Been brewing that deck recently
Kinda feels like Tivit’s a solved deck atm since so little recently has been implemented in it and that kinda bums me out as we see other decks that are wildly changing with the past two sets
I mean, it IS a mid-range esper deck centered on a few value cards. While it might not be fully solved, it's not like it's a brand new archetype. It's like dihada or kinnan. The deck won't reinvent themselves.
yet another objective list of pure joy
Moraug in cedh is wild love to see it
Does Born Upon a Wind bring Hulk lines back ? there are many Flash options now, or is it gone for ever ?
Something that I never see mentioned with stern scolding is it hits grand abolisher, which is kind of big. Also hits bowmaster, drannith, opposition agent, collector ouphe, etc. I think there's enough targets to justify it. But that's just my opinion
I have Expel from Orazca in my EDH Lonis, Cryptozoologist deck so I can take out an opponent's piece and then take it for myself.
lolololol “dragon shield… dragon shield… dragon shield…”
21:52 "oo ya"
Just saw this video, a little late but im the pako haldan player at lightspeed. This isnt actually the list i ran at the tournament. I definitely ran dockside. Didnt run song of creation or swarm intelligence. And have added stuff against gilded drake and drannith due to them being a problem
❤❤❤ Have a good weekend fellas!
The next podcast about tournaments should be called:
TEDH TALKS
"Grixis with a bit extra girth" 🥴
Mists of Lórien can go around hexproof sometimes
So veil of summer doesn't really protect it
I run a Haldan and Pako creaureless deck (thinking of putting food chain shenanigans in there but still need to figure out the pay off) and I have won so many games because of seed time
No one expects the mono green extra turn
Weird that there's no kinnan, and so little green overall on this list.
Also, Bloodchief Ascension + Mindcrank goes infinite, so insta win if it has its counters
Dang, bloodchief ascension hosing breach lines through brain freeze wasn’t emphasized enough
I love Aboleth spawn in Kinnan. Opponent's dockside coming down? Get a few free Kinnan activations for three mana? Sure why not
How good is tiamat as a 5 color good stuff deck with grixis win cons and food chain back up? I kinda wanna build it cuz i love dnd and dragons lol. Probably no ad nause though.
ComedIan has a video on exactly that deckwhere he goes through and build it live and discusses inclusions/exclusions and the thought process behind the deck.
@@MomirsLabTech thx
I don’t know why but Dylan being vegan seems really on brand
Yall wanna make a cedh deck thats been extremely slept on? 5Co Tazri. People don't get how it wins really and it's got a lot of unexpected stuff you wouldn't see in most cedh decks.
I love how yall almpoon tEDH so much haha.
Grixis with its wheel punishment coming bavk hard. Return of nekusar type decks?
Mnemonic Betrayal + Bloodchief Ascension is lethal enough in late games.
A lot of people don’t know about that combo
I run talion without DC because of the talion trigger. tainted just a so much better card overall anyways
the decklist is missing Talion decklist :((((
With blood chief's looking good in talion what are the odds mind crank is worth a slot?
The only time mindcrank is good is as a combo piece, but that doesn’t redeem itself for being a bad card.
you said cursed totem shuts down winota? can you explaint hat?
It shuts off the Kiki-jiki line
Pako combo can’t cast creatures from exile! Thats why people consider taking out silly red treasure man
Nightman better pay the Troll toll!
out here naming steaks and forgot about the sloppy ones.
mist of lorain for 0 also bounces all tokens as well
mists of lorien choosing 5 four different time, youll see.
Brain Freeze also can't be played with Bloodchief Ascension for the very pressing reason that it triggers when cards are milled. This is perhaps more important than the storm copies entering the graveyard.
What is this meeting?
Vendillion Clique isn't much of a gotcha against Thoracle wincons, because it puts the card on the bottom of their library, then draw.
I think the reason why the Pako player doesnt play Dockside, is because you cant play creatures from exile
T1 mists of Lorien targeting your own mana crypt, mox opal etc just dumps on people who drop mox diamond/chrome mox
The Sisay deck isn't playing Myrel either
Sad u guys totally ignored the 124 biggest cedh tournament in person in Europe. Was right there and kraum tevesh also won
Dockside confirmed bad 😎
I didn't know Dylan was vegan :o
The way Talion is written is interesting. I didn't know spells on the stack have power and toughness as copyable attributes
Didn't know james franco was vegan
