Shaolin Monks was without doubt the best entry in the series, every beautiful aspect of MK I and MK II explored and explained. Did anyone noticed a witch flying on a broomstick ? :)
Man Shaolin Monks was the Mortal Kombat game that got me into the series. I still remember me and my dad would play together. I even still remember all the cheat codes too.
Shaolin Monks was one of my favorite 3rd Person MK games. My girlfriend at the time and I couldn't stop playing this as it was a great coop game. Great memories for a great game!
My favourite parts about the MK "3D Era" was Shaolin Monks and the Deception Konquest Mode. Would love to see that kind of stuff with current graphics/gameplay .

When games used live action cutscenes. Twisted Metal, and then Resident Evil were the first games I’ve seen that used live action cutscenes. Ah, awesome times. Speaking of, what do you think about making a series about the #TwistedMetal franchise...? Just an idea, brotha!

I’ve absolutely loved this series so far. I agree 100% on Shaolin monks, it was awesome. This content surpasses any 1mil+ subscribed channel any day of the week. Keep up the great work!
I remember this odd thing that happened in Shaolin Monks. I would approach an area where I couldn't quite figure out how to reach. The other thing was that a guard was standing on the other end waiting for me to get there. I would use Lui Kang's fireball move & kept on hitting the guard. At one point the guard had enough & killed himself, giving me a green orb for health. I kept on doing this every time I needed health after reaching this part of the game, (& the big reason why I did that was because I didn't own a memory card for PS2 yet...)
The fact that that you’re a huge wrestling fan and Mortal Kombat fan earned you a new subscriber. I need friends like you. Haha. Good work man. Truly. Keep up the good work.

True Mythologies: Sub-Zero is an awful game but I'm not kidding when I say I would rather do another playthrough of Mythologies: Sub-Zero then ever ever go near MK: Special Forces.
Dude, the opening cinematic to Shaolin Monks got me so hype! It still does to this day. Also, Inferno Scorpion is my favorite adaptation of Scorpion ever, where as MK4 Scorpion was my favorite Scorpion look, Inferno was my favorite adaptation I'd love to see on screen kind of like MK's version of Beserker Rage Wolverine.
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is an all time favourite. I dust it off every few years and play through. Better yet, watching this video. I never knew there was a Survival Mode!? *Fuck me!* I thought I knew every secret, every reference! Well, it looks like I'll be dusting off MK:SM again.
Great video, turned a slow afternoon at work into something really enjoyable. Shaolin Monks Coop Mode has some of my favorite memories with the MK Franchise, and an HD Remaster would be an instabuy, while Mythologies made me remember extreme frustration over those smashing pillars. Thank you for the video, looking forward to Part V!
Thank you for watching! Yea man, MK:SM is so fucking good, I'm happy to hopefully let a bunch of people know that. I'm sure most think its terrible just because they haven't played it and the other spinoffs were garbage, but its not true! Thanks for the support.
Actually I've seen some videos that have stated supposed leaks that states Ed Boon is considering revisiting and actually releasing the supposed MK: Shaolin Monks sequel MK: Fire and Ice and if that is true I'm all for it.
Forgot about Shaolin Monks until I saw your views on the game. I managed to pick up a prestine copy at a retro games event over the weekend and currently bashing my through the game. No surprise why you ranked it number one on your MK list, i too highly rate it as one of the best in the MK series. Loved your videos on the history too, quite a few trivias that I never knew about, keep up the amazing work that you’re producing!
Maybe what I'm about to mention was also influenced by those two games as well, but *Special Forces* reminds me of an Eidos title called "Fighting Force 2," which was about as well-received as this one seems to be. FF1 was a beat-'em-up game that was kind of fun, though very easy and quick. FF2, on the other hand, has similar fighting techniques as this, some similar weaponry, and "finding key cards and going on elevators." Where *Syphon Filter* (what I've played of it) has a better camera scheme and what looks like better control, and where *Metal Gear Solid* (this one I've played through, at least) had a great plot, character development, and a bit more stealth and strategy, FF2 seems to be more similar aesthetically and structurally to SF.
I absolutely love the Angry Video Game Nerd reference in the beginning! Also great set of videos talking about one of my favorite games of my childhood
It's always unreal when people mention me in the same sentence as James, as he's a massive inspiration of mine. His body of work is incredible. Thank you!
Personally, I would love a Konquest mode return as a separate, major standalone game. Could play as many characters; similar to the gameplay style of Ninja Gaiden, DMC, etc. Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Erron Black, Kenshi, Sektor, Jax, Taven, Kotal Kahn, Jade, etc! 😍
G Truesdale I've been saying this for years. If it can be done with the Dragon Ball universe (Xenoverse 1 & 2) they can damn sure do it with the MK universe!
Memories, dude:) Used to play through the whole shaolin monks on PS2 with my little brother, it was so much fun. Great game for sure. Want to play it again, but can’t imagine playing it solo nowadays, because I don’t think we will find a time to do this again after ages. Thank you for the videos!
I also didn't notice the Mythologies tribute in DCU until I was watching the previous part. I can't think of any other time MK's done cutscene tributes, aside from arguably Shang Tsung's Shaolin Monks death being a nod to Liu Kang's in Deadly Alliance.
Still own my ps2 and the Shaolin monks game, this is by far my favorite mk game! Side note, I’ve been binge watching your mk videos today and I have to say that you deserve much more subscribers, amazing content!
I might stand alone on this, but Special Forces as a concept could've worked if done right, and might deserve a revisit. A sort of prequel featuring Jax and Sonya's relationship and how they ended up fighting for Earthrealm's freedom is a concept that I think has a lot of promise.
Played Shaolin Monks with my wife from start to finish, her first MK. Both of us had a blast! Too bad they never brought out another one, with 2 other characters.

Just finished watching the whole Mortal Kombat series and good job took me back to my childhood. Remember being over my neighbors house and his older brother telling us to cover our eyes when the Fatalities happened 🤣😂 half an hour later he was teaching us how to do them in the original MK. Keep taking me to nostalgic places of my childhood. thank you.
It was one of my favorite games to play. I loved UMK3 and everything or just about everything worked. It wasn’t perfect and I didn’t finish it but I’d take another crack at it if I could
I think I remember cheesing Shao Kahn in Shaolin Monks. Was it teleporting and sweeping? (Wait, no...that's something I did in Mortal Kombat 2011's story as Raiden against Shao Kahn) Can't really remember what exploit I used in Shaolin Monks against Kintaro and Shao Kahn or did I use any at all? Hmm...
I mainly locked on to Shao Khan and Dodge backwards when he started to swing his hammer, when he became tired, used projectiles then attack up close if I can, long jump away, then repeat
Shao Kahn in this game felt like an actual final boss. I hate Shao Kahn because of how hard the fight was, but I have to admit that he's of one of the most iconic villains in video game history.
Another great installment. I knew about Mythologies and Shaolin Monks, but I had NEVER heard of Special Forces until recent years. Ed Boon did a great job burying that haha. Looking now, Shaolin Monks is one I want to play...never have. Awesome video and I look forward to the grand conclusion!

Hell yea, man. Part 2 of the full playthrough goes up tomorrow. Stick aorund!

Digging the HIM posters bro. Great video. I was a major league MK fan. Mortal Kombat was life back in the day.
Thank you! Dude, 1-1-2019 I'm releasing a video covering my entire HIM collection. Check it out!
We need a shaloin monks version for scorpion and sub-zero!!
I remember playing this for the first time boy I was hooked. Me and my friends spent hours revealing secrets and unlockables, still we never get around survival mode. Such a masterpiece.❤️
How about a part 6 that talks about the mortal kombat movies and TV shows?
Episode #242 of the 616Entertainment Podcast is your key, here. (That's my weekly podcast. Enjoy!)
Great set of videos! Thanks for not cutting my name out of the scorpion swearing spear, it took me a few few hours to get those very few scenes...
Dude thank YOU! Channels like yours are excellent resources for the biggest MK fans out there. I would never cut your name. In fact, I'm going to throw your channel info and stuff in the description. I've meant to do this for a while now, so I'm glad you came by.
I'm pretty sure Special Forces is supposed to be based off of the gameplay of Metal Gear Solid.
Well then they missed the fuckin mark, hahha
Hey man, just discovered your videos, they re all fantastic. Happy new year from Greece
Greece, nice! Thanks for watching.
Wearing an NWO shirt standing in front of a H.I.M poster talking about Mortal Kombat has earned you a subscriber.

Stick around for the collection video on 1-1-2019!
Just finished watching the whole Mortal Kombat series and good job took me back to my childhood. Remember being over my neighbors house and his older brother telling us to cover our eyes when the Fatalities happened 🤣😂 half an hour later he was teaching us how to do them in the original MK. Keep taking me to nostalgic places of my childhood. thank you.
Love this story, man. Thank you for sharing!
Love your shirt bro'! 4 LIFE!
*too sweet*
Hey yo
Nothing better than watching these kind of videos before getting hyped up for a new Movie! Would love to play Shaolin Monks again man
I loved shaloin monks it’s such a underrated game In my opinion
Agreed!
You should have more subscribers dude. Binge watching this all night!.. shout out from new Zealand !!
I appreciate it. Thank you my friend, and shot out TO New Zealand!
Can't believe you replied 🤙😁 keep it up man
Call me crazy but I enjoyed Mythologies more on the N64 than playstation.
Call me crazy, but I actually enjoyed Mythologies: Sub-Zero.
It was one of my favorite games to play. I loved UMK3 and everything or just about everything worked. It wasn’t perfect and I didn’t finish it but I’d take another crack at it if I could
Cheers to your channel man, this is really well done series!!!
I hadn't played since mk3, and it's crazy how gory it got lol. . . so far
Thanks for watching!
I played them all but you in light me with the info
Love the HIM posters, I also found a HIM tat in your left arm xD very nice.
Thanks! I put up a video on my HIM collection. Check it out!
I still have Shaolin Monks and I still can't beat the final bosses.
Really fucking hard, man.
I think I remember cheesing Shao Kahn in Shaolin Monks. Was it teleporting and sweeping? (Wait, no...that's something I did in Mortal Kombat 2011's story as Raiden against Shao Kahn)
Can't really remember what exploit I used in Shaolin Monks against Kintaro and Shao Kahn or did I use any at all? Hmm...
I mainly locked on to Shao Khan and Dodge backwards when he started to swing his hammer, when he became tired, used projectiles then attack up close if I can, long jump away, then repeat
Send me that game😂
Shao Kahn in this game felt like an actual final boss. I hate Shao Kahn because of how hard the fight was, but I have to admit that he's of one of the most iconic villains in video game history.
I love these videos, I’ve been binge watching all day
Thanks Eric! This is just one of my History Ofs, I done 5 of them. Check them all out on the channel, I hope you stick around!
damn hollywood video is old school
Hell yea, man.
I love that you put a clip from Black Belt Jones in there! Respect
I love that people are picking up the little references here and there.
I came here on purpose... MK Shaolin Monks
Captain McKay Random Dude if only there was that proposed HD remaster. If it had online play, you and I would run that shit.
MK Mt Sub Zero ok
MK Special Forces with jax 👎
MK Shaolin Monks 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ is the best
You just earned a subscriber. Love the way you put this together. I must say I am shocked to hear you say that you never completed Mythologies because you found it troublesome. Makes me feel special for having beat it. LOL!
Dude, that is extremely impressive. Great work!
