I'm sorry but I just don't get what not marrying anyone has to do with running the farm or not... How the heck does that mean that the farm life isn't right for the player???
I find this whole thing so bizarre. Not wanting marriage =\= Your heart not being in the farm. I get what the game is going for, but why not just make the story progress after you choose to get married, whether it takes 1 year or 10? They could just say "the main plot will not progress until you marry someone" while still letting you go at your own pace.
Because the game would no longer be fun. There’s only so many interactions with the character. They would have to implement festivals and special cut scenes every year to make it interesting. Your farm doesn’t upgrade and the people don’t age up until after you marry. The young kid you’re supposed to have is supposed to be a major point of the plot. It’s supposed to tell the characters story. Plus the game is so much older so most farming sims were you grow your farm and start a family. They’re not meant to be played for 75+ hours like stardew.
@@spoiledsandi Yeah I totally get that, and especially after I started watching playthroughs after making this comment I got to see the game with a wider lens. I think just the combined 10 days per season and only 1 year to marry can make the start feel a little too rushed for some of us. I dont think it would be a stretch to give us up to 2 years to settle down instead. But I do get that my playstyle and this game just might not mesh well. I still plan on trying it eventually and-- who knows? Maybe my opinion will change too :)
I mean, this game is story based, it's not like other Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons games. Being married is a part of the plot. If you don't like that, there's a ton of games that are what you want.

This is actually such a great idea! I never thought about this but it'd be a great way to kickstart the game.
