FYI: you don’t need to lower your hearts with anyone to avoid the **8 heart event(s) that stop all other heart events. You simply answer no to them asking to go steady. 9 heart event is the actual engagement/blue feather. Also, if you want to keep options open for other playthroughs, save on Winter 10. Spring day 1 you will be asked to choose someone to marry and the heart event/engagement scene will be the same.
Thank you so much for the correct and additional info! I wish we could still see all the heart events regardless but I'm glad there are ways around it. I made 2 saves for my 1st playthrough cause I had a hard time between Matthew and Gordy
Just another tip I've found recently! If you begin training your dog right before midnight, time will get stuck at 11:59pm, meaning you don't have to waste any of your precious hours training your dog! It's been useful for getting those skill points(:

Oh this is a great tip!! I can barely stand, er, squat (XD), having to press buttons by the dog for so long and so time passing makes it even worse/undoable. I’ll have to try this the next time I don’t manage to go to bed before 9:59pm.

The tip with the trees is blowing my mind. How come I never thought of doing that?! I also found the river shortcut by accident. I had thought I glitched through a barrier and ended up in the river by accident until I realized, no, this is an intentional shortcut.
Also, regarding Mukumuku, since he's only around in the Winter a quick way to raise his friendship fast is give him fish. He loves all kinds of fish and will even take three of them per day.
Omg yes. The trees and shortcuts are probably the most "what?????? where have I been" moments for me xD ty for the info on Mukumuku!
Years of playing the original taught me how to plant the trees. I looked at this game and went "not this time game im ready for you!" Also they censored the lizard. His bandage had blood on it in the original.
Omg THE WAY I DIDNT KNOW THE TREE THING IN THE ORIGINAL!!!! *sighs* hahahahaha just when I thought it couldnt get worse but thank you cause i love to learned! Oh I forgot about the blood on it but I am glad they kept the bandage still. I'm so happy they gave us new models but also up-scaled some textures and stuff. Its the perfect blend of old and new imo
That secret bridge by the dig site!! I saw vesta kinda float over to it and walk across so I thought it was a glitch, I stared at it for so long 😂

I saw the lizard sitting in the river and thought it was a glitch lol.
I somehow saw the shallow water and was like "looks like you could walk to the other side" but it took me like 2 ingame days to try it out. Don't ask me why I am that stupid to not test it immediately. xD
Mukumuku is my favourite character in this game. He’s so wholesome. ❤️
yup and I still hate daryl for trying whatever it is he's trying to do with poor mukumuku
So so so cute!!! The sounds Muku makes.. the hand gestures.. oof. Its like cuteness overload

Mukumuku is still adorable but, I prefer the original appearance. It has always been one of the best characters in the game though. It still is. It's especially adorable how innocent Mukumuku is
That shortcut by the dig site is one of my favorite additions to the remake and I really had to wonder if it was in the original or not. I couldn’t remember lol
Thankfully I noticed pretty early and that became part of my daily routine

I learned a secret about the dig site! Did you know the squares preview items you will find? Squares with gold colored stones have gold items if you keep digging then once the item is gone the tile looks like just dirt. White stones seem to give you gems I forgot the name. The coins and weird figures also have a large shape that disappears when you unearth it.

You can also keep digging in that spot and it will spawn a new item.
I'm surprised you didn't mention haggling with Van. For those who don't know, when selling to Van you can actually turn down his initial offer, possibly prompting him to increase his offer. The odds decrease with each attempt, so save beforehand, but its worth it to save all your crops and products to sell to Van instead of using the shipping bin.
yeah I was worried about how long the video would go on~ I mentioned it in my other video here: th-cam.com/video/EyK7ci4PGbg/w-d-xo.html (linked to the time) but I should have include it even if it was briefly! Thank you for explaining it here :) It took me 15 times to haggle with Van the 1st time he visited so def befriend him if someone is reading this in the future!

Dude I literally walked right up to the waterfall short cut and said 'dang too bad I can't jump across those rocks to get to the other side." I was slightly too far over and only found out when I saw it in someone's video 😂
LOL RIGHT!!!! It was towards the end of Spring for me and I was like man.. no horse yet and I hate walking all the way around until Fall 😂

* not all fruit seeds are worth more than the fruit. Only the base tree fruits. Not the hybrids and not the crops.
Idk if you know, but you can gift villagers multiple gives per day (most of them will accept up to 5), but they have to be different categories.
Also most of the villagers have some sort of reward for befriending them: records, outfits, the best tools, etc.
Aye yeah only basic fruit tree seeds. Yep! I got a Gifting guide for year 1 but it could have been better. I'll probably put out another gifting guide thats more complete since I left out Year 2 + a few oddballs like the Doctor! Thanks for the info :)
This is just a random tidbit, but you can tell when someone considers you a friend because they'll turn their head to look at you when you walk by. If your hearts aren't high enough, they just keep looking forward instead. Not a groundbreaking tip since we have the menu page to check villager heart levels, just more of a fun fact.
That is ultra cool! I didn't know that at all. I love the small touches like that in games
As the player of the old game, I already know majority of this, but it's still nice to know the new things only in the remake

One time I went over the hill and found a hot spring which replenished my stamina! I only found it once, but it definitely exists 😅
The way I wish this was a thing.. I would be happy with even just a small little city hub with random/personality-less NPCs! 😂
@Pawserve I literally only encountered it once. I had 2 stamina replenishing events. It was just a black screen saying what my character did.
The first was the hot spring which replenished about as much stamina as taking a bath in your house
The second was something about finding a hut with an old couple that gave me food which replenished a negligible amount of stamina but it definitely went up.
Most times nothing happens but time passing, but those two I watched my stamina go up
I was also shook when I saw Celia walk past the river at some point xD

I used to have the 'too many hearts' in the original AnWL with Rock so I showed him fodder (he loves it for some weird reason) and turning him down (aw bummer). This was all to romance Marlin, it was a pain lol. NOOO MY FRUIT TREES ;_; I have to replant them (i cri). THERE'S AN OWL?? I had no idea about the animals and fortune of fishing/ digging. Thanks sooo much for these tips!!

Sweet.." and I'm like shoving milk in Merlin's face while looking at Rock in an annoyed way 😂 We cry together with the fruit trees 😭and I wish we could feed the wild animals even if there is no pro to it. I tried to feed the racoon for like an hour when I first saw him

Roosters are still chickens. Think like dog breeds. A dachshund is still a dog but not all dogs are dachshunds. So not all chickens are roosters but all roosters (or hens, females) are chickens.
This is true - honestly thank you. My brain wouldn't stop questioning/being annoyed with it but I totally get it now :D
No don’t think of it like dog breeds, because there are actually different breeds of chickens, and they all have both roosters and hens (unless you know of a secret chicken breed that uses parthenogenesis). Hen/rooster just refers to the sex of the chicken. Since chicken is the species and rooster is the sex, calling it either name is accurate.

I actually already knew all of these, the only one i didn't immediately remember from the old game was the good luck dictated by the animals, i'll be putting that into practice during my playthrough :P anything new i already picked up from watching other people play the game, but these are good tips for anyone who didn't play the originals, so its nice to see people making videos like this even if i don't personally need them~
Do you know if there's any way to get rid of the trees? I sadly didn't know how to plant them correctly
@@Farilarjust use your hoe tool on them, it will give you a confirmation dialogue to cut it down ❤
@@Farilar i'm pretty sure if you try to use the hoe on the square it asks you if you want to remove the tree, i almost did it by accident in one of my vids so i'm glad it gives you a warning lol
I also ready the '6 trees can fit in the plot' guide and didn't notice until fall that I could put 15. However my apples had enough time for em to harvest
The trees look so nice after they are all planted too! I'll probably plant some trees in the back of my fertile soil area just because it'll look nicer against the hill

This is a great tips video :D. I’ve been reading all around Discord/Reddit/TH-cam and was pleased to learn a few new things here ^^
I think for the Star Cow/Bull, it’s really a time calculation on if it saves or loses you money in the long run :o. I had 3 sheep by Spring 8 and they become golden by their second shear, and so since I can make (with Van haggling) 21.6k every 5 days via sheep alone, it would make no sense to wait ~30 days to save 25k; I’d lose sooo much money in the meantime. But someone who is trying to play with just their starter cow and some chickens and mostly crops, it would make a lot of sense.
I totally agreed with most of your points! The star cow / bull thing is cool in theory and I tried it out- very cool but oof. It does take a while. One funny thing to note is sheep's are very loud xD a friend had 6 sheep's and she sold some cause they would just yell so much. Low key I find it funny but I should see that being a problem for some

I knew about the river, the trees calendar. I was so happy when i got across the river. I ended up trying to find other short cuts on the river lol.

When we played the og A Wonderful Life on Gamecube, my cousins and I used to think that if you dig all the tablets in the dig site, you get to adopt the chihuahua 🥺

Thank you so much Leozar!! 💜 I think the gamecube style fit the theme of AWL better but I'm going to guess they are trying to bring in new fans as well and this prettier/brighter look was their choice. I do like the combination between old graphics, upscaled assets and new models/assets though. It still feels like the old game with a new paint job

Another helpful maybe not secret advise is that if your horse sleeps you can whistle and you’ll automatically get up on it.
Collect those red flowers in summer lamp 🌹 you can mix it with crops and they’ll grow in any season but once they’re harvested they lose the effect. You can put them in the seed maker but they won’t grow in any season. This is helpful if you don’t want to wait for certain crops until you can plant them

The 'breed your cows to get cheaper females' tip is good for all cow types tbh, and before you get a star bull, you can then sell the bulls you used to essentially get 5,000 g brown/marble cows. You don't even need to reset the day. It's the birth event that decides type and gender, and the birth event has a set time it's going to happen (It's random per birth, but if the birth event happens at say, 6:30, it's going to happen at 6:30 for that birth every time, so you can plop down a file at like 6:28 or so and reset that baby quick fire)

I found this info out last night! Pui definitely lives there. I can provide a screenshot of him walking in because it shocked me. He'll welcome you into his 'home' in the Spring but you CANNOT enter his cave. Such a cute feature!! I thought it was Mukumuku's lair at first.
I got lucky and got female star cow without resetting. Was so happy.

Yeah there are like 14 records! I wanted to include those since they are a bit random but there is one for befriending the entire valley and some other ones. I should do a video on it when I get more footage @_@
I was at the dig site yesterday and as I passed the river I was thinking "I wish there was a bridge there." I had no idea you could waddle across the water! But this is a cool addition.
As for the trees, 😤 I had no idea! I planted 5 trees in the field next to the house but now I'm gonna have to cut them all down! 😫 Does that mean you can plant more than 6 in that field? And I remember about the pot but forgot.
Even though I played the original when it released I didn't find out every about it. Back then I didn't have internet. Hell, in my day I used the library. And I'll definitely check out the yeti.

@@Pawserve The trees were an easier fix than I thought 😂 I will just make sure they go through their fruit cycle so I can make more seeds then I can upgrade the seeds with vinnie and reorganize and omg realizing the process makes me just wanna take a nap lol. 😵💫

I feel this a lot! For my 1st file I am using it to show mistakes and what not for youtube videos but for my next file it'll be much cleaner. I'll still pace myself though and purpose not befriend everyone in year 1 / 2

Great video and content for new players. I knew all of em and notice right away due to experience . The only thing i think i haven’t figure out is the hidden red and blue tiny mushrooms.. there is some hidden all over the map.. i taken pics if all of them except the one behind the shed in the villa. I am hoping taking a pic of all unlocks something . If you find out please let me know

Quick question: I just started playing and had no idea that we could fit more trees in the same amount of area. When the trees have fully matured, can we cut/remove them? Or would I need to start a new game :/
You can cut the trees! I think it's the hoe but I know there is a tool you can use and it'll ask you to chop it down when it's fully mature since the game doesn't have a chopping down animation
Tips for everyone that want give gordy gift but don't want waiting to long, ready your gift then save and load, gordy position will be reseted then you can do it
It will work to for anyone(ex. Matthew, flora, etc), also if your animal sleeping when you tend other animal, just save then load, the animal will wake up
I'm using this trick to save time(in game time) and finally success max everyone friendship to the max in first year winter 6 except van(almost max), badoch(i forgot him), mukumuku(almost max,just need give him fish for the rest of month) and of course year 2 resident.
also for anyone don't know, S quality Tree trick from ps2/gamecube version still work, don't waste your fertilizer and time. With vinnie it will become easy
mix b tree seed(make sure it's in first slot) and a s quality seed(whatever anything work as long is S quality, the most easy way is mix a seed with up quality flower) and vinnie will spit out S quality version of the tree seed.
usually you can't mix a tree seed with flower, so the only way is using fertilizer, but it's take to long and to many fertilizer. oh yeah it's work to with tree that already mixed(ex. grorange, rare tree 1-9, etc) too as long it's in first slot.

@@PawserveYou're welcome, by the way after last night trying hybrid all tree, it won't work for blue version of tree(tree+trick blue flower), for that 5 tree the only way is using fertilizer, oh yeah if you have duck the egg might hacht as duck(i don't know about this before, i thought you only can get chicken) and goat only available in spring, so for everyone don't know if you want goat leave a spot in barn before spring(i thought it's always available)
