don't care how old this vid is, it was very helpful so Thank You! I was trying to find out how exactly to make containers and such work as player owned resources, and you showed me in the first 3 mins of this vid.
you can edit regular player owned homes without a problem, if, for example, let's say you want to upgrade breezehome, but you want the alchemy table to appear somewhere else when it's purchased, you need only drag it to the desired new location then when you buy the alchemy upgrade it will put it there insteadm equally if you DON'T want something to appear after an upgrade, just delete it and it simply won't appear when you upgrade, you can also customize what appears when you buy upgrades
well, technically all you need is an exterior door for it to be considered a house, and linkable to an inside door, so you could attatch an exterior load door to anything to make your exterior, and just type "house" in the search bar and it will bring up a bunch of farmhouses, etc or you can copy paste an exterior (like a castle or something) from another cell.
I had this issue a couple of times personally but haven't experienced it in a long time, what fixed it for me personally was saving the game next to the object then reloading it, after that it appeared, was this in the overworld (exterior cells) or interior, because i've personally only had this happen on the interior
yes, top left there are two red icons, one is a square the one to the right of it is a triangle, they are snap to grid and snap to angle, if one of those is pressed then when you move things they will either rotate 90 degrees at a time (snap to angle, the triangle) or force themselves to the spot (snap to grid, the square) so I would assume you have snap to angle on
I'll make a tutorial on how to edit that tomorrow if i have time, but for now you CAN copy paste the house, edit it how you like, and save it as a seperate how, just remember to delete the red X's that are sitting in the void outside the home, those represent each buyable upgrade, remove those, and you won't get conflicts, hope that helped.
Thanks brodah much appreciated. The last time i edited an Elder Scroll was way back on Morrowin, the creation kit there is completely different here in Skyrim but hence this one is less HTML commands to make something work compared to Morrowind XD again many thanks
Yeah I just went in the ck to check it out and it did the same thing for me, as you saw in the video it worked when I made the vid, but it is like 6 months old now, so i guess they changed something since then, i'll play around with it see if i can figure out what they changed and a way around it and let you know when i do
i know of it but i've not used it all too much, i'll look into it when my computer is back from repair (still with the manufacturers atm because the gpu is faulty) when i get it back i'll look into it to see if i can help you out with it some more, but yeah, since it seems to only happen in exterior cells i would assume it must be a LOD issue aswell
I haven't uploaded to the nexus but to upload to steam when you're in CK in the top left click file then click "upload plugin and archive to steam" and type the name of the mod, the description, pick tags etc then just click upload and that's all you need to do.
Yeah i'm really not sure what causes it, it worked fine for me when I made this video, I think an update they've made to the CK since has somehow broken it slightly.
nice work i have a question you may be able to answer. parts of my playerhouse is invisible when testing in game, i have ticked the box for full load object but only visible if i coc to the cell. need help

I have tryed both but im not having any luck, i dont think i uploading the right files. have you published any mods yet?
For me, I rename the cell, then when I edit it, I just click on the original copy (on the left in the edit tab, not in the cells window) and then click back to mine (the one I make my house on) and I can edit its features again.

thank you for getting back to me, ive asked some other mod makers but no response. the problem is in exterior cells, i have just found a part fix by accident lol. I double clicked on the building part i needed in the object menu, and a new window opend (Static) this has LOD tick boxs. Im not sure how the Static menu works, but i ticked uses high-detail LOD texture then dragged the object in to my cell and replaced, and it seems to work. do you know the static menu?
No, I can't save the edit screen, like you are showing at 2:33. I can not click on OK to get the changes saved. I can change the settings, which are all grayed out, but can not click the OK button since it's not highlighted. But I am working on a copy of the cell, not the original, which I assume can't be changed by normal means. If you can help me, please do. Your tutorials are good to follow, if my program corresponds.

I am just a starter and like you do I duplicate the same cell (the same house) and i rename it (also to 0000 - just for testing) but then i want to edit it just like you do but when i have selected the things just like you i can't press the'OK' button and the text in the window is not black but dark gray. Does somebody know what you have to do for not having this problem? PLEASE HELP!

i reinstalled the creation kit and it fixed it for now i guess. the ok button was grayed out in the edit window. whatev its fixed. do you have a skype i need lots of help lol
Yeah just name it and save it as a .esp file as it will make it by default, it should also put it straight into your Skyrim directory so it should already be installed and working as soon as you boot up the game, just remember to name it something you'll remember it by, I sometimes make the mistake of just calling my mods by indescriptive names then I get to editing them or whatever and i'm like, wait, what the hell was this one for? :P
Hey, I had a question regarding player homes that are upgradable. I understand the basic logic of the ck & everythhing..but I was a bit curious about the extra items that were used in the cell proudspire manor, for example, I wanted to refurbish that house but I'm afraid it might conflict w/ the upgrade process when you buy that home. So do I copy the cell like you did then add what I wanted to it then save & install that file as a normal mod...??

When you say game, you mean skyrim itself won't restart? or do you mean the creation kit won't restart?

by not save it you mean you can't save the mod file? does the CK crash? also what cell are you duplicating?

In Steam click on Library -> Tools and search for Creation Kit. Have fun and dont get frustrated, its a hard start. :D
